How do I get the steering arm bit off the front bolt of the lca on a ke70

 

Help please if you understand what bit I'm talking abput

Turn the steering wheel to full lock one way or the other.

Put the the nuts back on and hit really hard with lump hammer lump hammer not them girly builders hammer.

 

On the side not the nut .

Put the nut back on the thread(so you don't damage the thread) and give it a good bash with a sizable hammer/mallet!!

If that don't work, you can buy tie rod/ball joint separators from bursons, autobarn, super crap etc.

Do you have a heat gun?

 

Put the nut back on a bit

Heat the steering arm/knuckle up heaps until wd40 etc smokes a bit then smack the nut with a hammer.

 

Works for both LCA and tie-rod end

Put weight on it otherwise your wasting your time.I will often try to break the lock of the taper before I lift a car up to work on it now days. Leave a bit of the nut on. Or put a hammer on the other side of where your hitting. It's a pain in the ass dude

This would help if the thread wasn't minted from the lcs being removed y the last owner at some point

The nut came off but won't go back on. And I can fix the thread

The thread end has been grinded away for some reason its ʞ©$ɟed

Yeah smash the side of it with a hammer as others have said, or get a crowbar under the knuckle and pull up and it should come off

think we might have a ball joint separator i the shed somewhere

i would pull the whole lot off from the tie rod put it in a vice and smash the cr@p out of it from the top if the thread is screwed anyway. but I'm rough lol.

I tried hammering from the top on mine.. did shit all.. whacked it on the side twice and came right off
