OK so on the whole we are anti-rice, but I have a penchant for all things blue.

 

This is acutely obvious if you look at my custom guage thread but I have taken it a step or two further.

 

Take one shitty oil stained rocker cover :

 

Soak in degreaser (50/50 mix of Supercheap degreaser/Kerosine)

Rub with Wet'n'Dry to remove scuffs and hammer marks (it was hard to crack the seal)

Spend $35 at Supercheap on pretty tins of shiny stuff

 

Spray the blue on the cover

Look in disgust cause it doesnt look right

Read the cans

Use the basecoat like you should have in the first place

Respray the blue

 

Seek assistance of Bajic brother to refit the cover (I told you it was hard to get out)

Stand back and admire the blue

 

Next: The strut braces Nick has provided to me.

Hell yes, that's damn nice blue. Pity those FWD engine bays are so crowded though. Nothing like the space available in RWD Corollas.

How did you end up getting if off i tried with mine 1 day after taking the 3 bolts out it wouldnt come out and i havnt even bothered lookin again

Sometimes the seal hardens and sticks to the head, Trick is to get the hammer (AKA SST1) and give it a few love taps to persuade it to come off..

No probs, can't remember why i wanted it off but in the future u i will know what to do thanks guys

That "Metalcast"® paint only comes in 1 shade of blue, and 1 of red and i think the other is purple.

And the ground coat is the grey/alloy colour to give your colour an even base to work over. the paint is semi translucent so it will show up any grime under it

That 4A-GE looks sweet as. You've obviously put a LOT of work into cleaning it up and prettying it up Teddy. If you ever want to have a go at doing a 4A-GZE feel free to fly up here and do mine. :)

Except for the red sections I thought Teddy's was also quite restrained. But yes, Ruts you've done an excellent job - looks great.
