not worth talking about but you can use all the other bits to put a 4age in :monkey:

like gear box, cross member, engine mounts, clutch bits... all the rest of that gear.

cheers, lloyd

A 100kw 4AGE motor went on toymods for $750.

It was a FWD set-up with FWD gearbox, manifolds etc etc (no wiring loom though) but if you know enough about them and research the converting from FWD to RWD its not that hard to do. :monkey:

haha, there is power to be found in a 4k and 4ac is i think the bottom of the 4a range and it is easely upgradable to a 4age 16 or 20 valve.

cheers

why was the 4AC so shit when the 4KC was one of the best motors toyota ever made?

erm, did you just say the poopy FOURKAAY is one of toyota best engines? :monkey:

sure it lasts alright, but its inefficient, under powered, weak, pushrod

its along way from anything special, sorry

Believe it or not, not Necessarily the 4K, but the K series generation of motors were without a doubt Toyota's most reliable and long running series motor out there. Hell, designed from the early.. 60's and only stopping production 4 years ago, thats one god dam refined motor, thats had 40 years of touchups. Somethings gotta be going for it, for it to last *that* long. I Doubt you will see a Hyundai motor design last that long. AND meet ADR emotion control standard levels.

Say what must be said, and the only real problem with a 4K these days is age. But they are a good motor, Simple, Cheap, under-powered, and reliable.

I can't remember the last time we got a Townace 7K in at work with *any* mechanical problems.

so, they are ok, but nothing to write home about.

the main thing is they provide the footing for a 4age convert, so i'll buy it then.

thanks boys.

is there anything else you can tell me? anything at all. :monkey:
