pozman Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 well now that thats out of the way we will try and get back on topic yes irokin and nissan feeling! you guys are right, i will probably go with a vl pre pump then 044 or equivalent from the surge tank. yes i think its a good idea spending this money on the rolla, i love the car (and most old schoolers in general), and this is my new project, to stop spending money on the pulsar. also what better than too spend quality time than building your own car, which you then now inside out and can trust. and to continue to rant on, i bought the car for $450 with a hell of a lot of work done already and got the engine and its crap for $300 so in summary, its really up to you, if you want to drive a v8 commonwhore like every one else, or laugh at loosers when you rape them in your unsuspecting rolla? :jamie: Quote
rollacdmd Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 (edited) Yeah mate, I reckon its a wicked idea and your doing it on a budget man what i wanna do! haha lesss around than the commonwhore and fully worked under $ 5000 easy then. What type of diff are you using and you fit it yourself? :jamie: Edited November 2, 2006 by rollacdmd Quote
pozman Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 (edited) for now I'm going to take it easy on th stocko, but thinking s3 rx7, with limo, been thinking of older hilux aswell, these diffs are getting dear now though Edited November 3, 2006 by pozman Quote
pozman Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) well ive got the engine where i want it finally ;) , had the box in today aswell, but have to cut the shifter hole before it will fit properly. now i'm starting to work on the wiring, pain in the but, as i only have the ecu loom for the silvia, things would be easier if i had the engine bay loom as well. :P but ill make do with what i got. :) with any luck ill have it turning over by the end of the weekend :D :edit:spelling Edited November 8, 2006 by pozman Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 You shouldnt need the rest of the silvia loom as you just use the corolla one, just cut the coil wire and related crap out of the rola one and use it for alternator and starter, lights ect, to wire the sivia computer apparently you just need 3 wires. one has gotta be power, the other accesories ;) :D yep I'm only guessing.....good luck, keep us updated :P Quote
pozman Posted November 9, 2006 Author Report Posted November 9, 2006 yeah theres not much, but i have to link the looms from the two sides of the engine, and figure out two relays that i don't have that seem a bit weird. ;) Quote
pozman Posted November 11, 2006 Author Report Posted November 11, 2006 well i went to the jap importer in the area tonight, worked out 150 dollars lighter but atleast i got the parts i need. also spent some more time on the wiring, think ive got it all sorted out, just need to get the fuel pump relay working and some parts from work and it should start, touch wood. havent got the fuel system sorted yet but i use my old pulsar pump in a bottle just to see if it will run. Quote
pozman Posted November 13, 2006 Author Report Posted November 13, 2006 well its almost running. i got it all wired in and it turns over, but wont start. ive got spark but don't seem to be getting fuel, been thinking it over and suspect its the O2 sensor, so i will get that fixed up and see if it will work then. my extractors also don't fit, not happy, they hit the stearing arm, so i will have to modify them to go around it. a quick question too, what have you guys used for your hydrolic clutche set ups? paul Quote
NickZ Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 the O2 sensor wont stop it from starting, it will run even without it, it will just run rich. I used a TA22 clutch master cylinder. Quote
pozman Posted November 14, 2006 Author Report Posted November 14, 2006 damn it, i was hoping that that was all it was, must be some bigger underlining problems then it only the injecters that are playing up just not giving me fuel  Quote
irokin Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Getting much fuel returning from the rail? That should tell you if the fuel pump you're using either can't pump enough pressure or is buggered. If its sparking your CAS is working so thats something you can cross off. AFM hooked up properly (both piping and electrics)? Also worth putting a multi-meter on one of the injectors connectors to see if they're being fired. Quote
