Possibly the last gallowan round (spelling?), it went out with a bit of a bang, literally.

I was servicing for the ScottMotor sports Ke70 this time round. Apart from an aftermarket fuel pump crapin it self, all was pretty good, all day. The tyres were all oldies, for costs reasons, which showed in the times. We don't yet know what positons have been given, thanks to a few protests against regulations & other cars and yada yada. Ill keep you all updated there.

On the other hand, i am saddened to inform you all that Mr Dixon (Redwarf) after about 16 years of serious competition has finally had a crash. In rallying, its not if it will happen, its when. And when was yesterday. He & Nav are ok, but shaken badly.

Ill leave it at that, and here are the pics.

And yes, Peter Brocks death has shaken even this event. I'm still upset.

Rolla's can be replaced, lives can't.

Good to see you're ok Mr Redwarf. Is it worth cutting and shutting the front or is it a write-off?

Yep. Hmmmmmm..........

As Teddy said, after 16 yearss and over 200 motorsport events, I suppose it had to happen one day. Very similar occurence to what happened at Urbenville, but this time carrying a whole lot more speed.

Approached corner too quick, got into the loose stuff, clouted the first tree with the rear of the car, which span us head-on into the next one. Peta is bruised mainly from the harnesses, and I've got whiplash, but overall, we came out of it quite well.

I hadn't been happy with the car all day, and I hadn't been happy with the way I'd been driving either. Essentially came into the corner too quick and didn't have the required talent to get out the other side.

Car is up for a rear quarter cut, and although I haven't lifted the bonnet yet, radiator support panel, and a trip to the rack for a bit of rail straightening. The piece of 3/8 battle ship armourplating that is my sump guard is still straight, however with all the movement going on, it bent the engine crossmember. Radiator needs to be peeled off the engine. Speaking of the engine, we'll pull that down and have a look at it too. Doors aren't shutting real flash either. Nor does the boot. At least the driving lights weren't on the car yet. :P

Well done to Tony and Matt though, big day and a great result to them. :y:
