I rang my engineer yesterday regarding this thread.

He said the queensland rules are NOT changing to the national code, they remain exactly how they are.

He said they will not change in the foreseeable future, and if they did he would be the first to know.

So disregard the table found in the national code,

and continue to use the queensland rules as quoted previously in this thread. thumbs_up_trans.gif

I'm 90% through the approved person scheme to issue blue plates and you have to own the current code of practice but qld transport have told me not to purchase it as it's changing to national in january' someone's got it wrong

Agreed. someone has got it wrong.

It doesnt affect me personally, so i guess i will just wait it out.

The national code is much more attractive for small cars, but it kills the wacko.gif,
so i hope my engineer is right for the v8turbo crowd. hmmmm.gif

the vans are lighter.
mine weighs in at 980 with me in it and a full tank of fuel, so thats gonna be 870 without fuel or passenger, not to mention a 20 kg tool kit, so 850.
thats alot less than a sedan.
although this panelvan doesnt have a spare on it, but 13's weigh fark all anyway.

So, in short, put it back where it's supposed to go or accept it's going to run like a 3 legged dog pulling a sack of spuds across a frozen lake.
