Thanks Ben! I also have the Toyota Corona RT104 2000GT brochure- I'll take some pics of both brochures after my last exam (6th June) and upload them in this thread. :) Thanks silverra23. I have hundreds of photos to upload, it's just a matter of passing my exams first and then getting them in order before uploading them. :) Thanks swarf! I've actually thought about putting it on but at $200 for one, and the Datsun Skyline C10 GTR being my dream car (the reason for the styling of my Rona), I feel that it's a bit of a wanker thing to take a GTR option and put it on a Corona that never had the option lol. :P Thanks rollalicious. =D

Hi Steve, I'm running Bilsteins (suited to Holden HK Monaro 327) all round on my RT104 Corona, and it's possible that the 70s Corollas and Coronas have the same rear end set up? If somebody could verify that? I think that my Corona handles really well now, and the Bilsteins all round played a large part in this. :) Regards, Stephen

Correct. LOL. And Ben... I ended up buying that RT104 brochure too! :)

Please don't cross-breed with the engine. The colour is awesome! Good to see you are going to keep the interior original and you are allowing a decent amount of time and budget. :) I say dump it on reconditioned stockies and dress rings, and period correct whitewalls. =D

Will take some detailed photos for you when I get the chance. We got a custom throttle cable made up the local instrument place. Then to stop the pedal going too far down and pulling on the cable too much- a custom cotton reel under the pedal to stop it going all the way too the floor haha, it actually slips on the bottom of the pedal really nicely and hasn't broken after a year of trampling it. Good to hear that you're doing an 18R-G conversion! :) I'm running a 22mm front sway bar (3mm oversized) made by Mako Swaybars. The rear end is as basic as it gets: no sway bar, no links and no panhard rod lol. :( Also all the rear bushes are rooted too, so I'm thinking about replacing them all with polyurathane bushes.

4Speed Use Same Tail Shaft As 5Speed In Ke30?
InSaNiTy replied to ke666's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
I would also like to know the answer to this :) -
I really like that you are keeping it simple. Venetians, carpet and fender mirrors. Good work. :)

Thanks for the comments guys! I'm just trying to track down the next chronologically correct photos, they must be on another computer :(. I have photos of pretty much every step of the build it's just amatter of gathering them all. :) I'll try my best to keep it as detailed as I can remember with every photo I have. Yeah I'm a big fan of the series one RT104s- they are so much meaner with the black grill and bonnet vents. They also had the original 18R motor that made 120HP (90KW) stock before the emissions crap came in. As you can see Grumpy's engine was unfortunately replaced at some stage in it's life with an 18R-Poo (18R-C LOL). The early model RT104s also had the Japanese T series diff which you can buy LSDs for whereas the series two RT104 had the crappy Australian Borg Warner diff with no LSD option. The moment we put the 18R-G in however, the little original T series started to whine and was getting louder and louder, and that's why we bothered converting to the bigger F series diff. I have photos of this diff conversion too that I'll post up here. :) Any questions or comments are appreciated. =D

Hi everyone! My name's Stephen and I'm currently studying at University of New England at Armidale (regional NSW- 5 hours north of Sydney). I'm originally from Tamworth and Walcha. I've been browsing this forum for over two years and it's about time I introduced myself. =D I have 3 main cars (excluding paddock bashers and parts cars LOL) and I'm proud to say they all have 18R-G engines in them =D; 1. The 1975 JDM RT104 Corona 'Grumpy' (my first car, built up from a paddock find) 2. 'Gramps' another RT104 but this one is a 1979 model (series two) completely original apart from 18R-G conversion with original 90 000km reppin' nanna spec :) 3. 1981 Celica RA40 Coupe Toyota Team Europe WRC replica rally car. Just started the AMSAG rally rookies series this year, next event is 19th May at Oberon, can't wait :) Hopefully I haven't bored you all too much! If you are interested in Grumpy's build, I just started a build thread for it last night located here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/60067-grumpy-the-jdm-rt104-corona/ and I'll make build threads for the other two when I have time. Thanks, Stephen
