He runs about the mid 9 mark, it's a race car moreso simply for the fact he can't even get 350 odd kw down on the ground very well and he was saying that was running 14psi, he can safely run 35psi without even blinking but he told me there no point because there is just not enough grip to handle that power unless he went to drag spec rubber (useless for the track). I say this guy at Mallala last time I went, hopefully he is back again when I go again this month and I'll get some pics of the engine bay. I tell you what it was orgasmic. Custom everything! His own unique plenum + runners + throttles, exhaust, fuel system, dry sump, fukern everything! He had an engineer desighn his motor down to every bend radius. I wouldn't usually beleive that someone could spend that mutch money on something but when you see this thing, f@$k. I am so glad I did not have to race with his group, his car was so fooking loud aswell. Funny thing tho, he owns a brake store franchise or something and he still only had the standard brake setup! (of course he had race pads and discs but they were standard size). And then the best thing, it is road registered!!!!! No shit he has this thing complied, so if anyone in Victoria (don't know what area) sees a black R33 GTR with custom black/white number plates (can't remember what they were), that's him. Just for us Adelaidians: His first ever outing to Mallala (the day which I met him) he pulled off 1:17 in the wet!! Thats pretty dam good for a wet lap! Remembering he only had standard size brakes.

They made the closing side of the lobes less aggressive so that the valve does not "slam shut" thus putting strain on the vlave train. (slowing down the valve)

Well finally I got my arse into gear and made a graph. It is a shitty Xls graph so the res is shit. I made the measurements in 1 degree incriments. This is only the intake camshaft, #2 Cyl It's not the best graph but it does show the slowing down on one side when the valve is closing, compared to the other side which is far more aggressive.

so don't use plain old air, just nitro.

don't forget to add that flux capacitor for the extra 1 gigawatt of powar!

I would go with the willwoods, just like the hilux they are a proven product. After all you wouldn't want to take 10s to go 1/4 and then and then use the wall as your stopping mechanism. There is alot of deisbelief about the 7psi bit because it is quite impossible to achieve. A well built NA 10,000 rpm screamer might make 220-240hp (shitload of money spent to make it this far) A stock GZE with turbo added running 14psi could give you about the 300hp mark if done really well (ie cams, ported head,) To make 400hp you need forged EVERYTHING and a touch over 20psi, to make 500hp is the 30psi mark, at which the engine might as well be welded together because of the insane boost, at this point don't even think it would be streetable as you would failboost into a tree in the blink of an eye. So you can see why we would think you would need more than 7psi for that amount of power. Unless ofcourse you have an RB30 in there instead of a 4age, then it is pissible to get that power (but at 12psi and over $50,000 spent on the engine. I have personally seen this engine, makes well over 500kw atw at 30psi)

Didn't Realise This Was An English Lesson
Twinky replied to rolla_93's topic in Important and Classic threads
When I first started visiting forums and getting in on the posts I didn't really care or even notice too mutch of bad spelling/grammar. But now after well over 600 posts (this forum + others) and regularly answering the same old f@$king questions like what engine can go into my shitbox I picked up for $2 and have a budget of a popsicle it really started to get annoying. Regular flamings were sent to anyone who sms talked but after a while I chilled out and just couldn't be bothered replying to the same old questions sutch as the regular "what engine should I put in my KExx" It's a bit easier to chill now because I now realise that I have over 2 years of experience in ripping apart my car and engine, these newbies do not. Any questions I ask now have been thought through and search function used. I admit that when I started out I asked that dredded question of "what should I do" simply because after reading through everything I still wasn't sure. But what really pisses me off is first time posters who do the unthinkable as well as SMS talk!!!! To sum it all up, we have answered all these questions, helped countless people make decisions. The least that people could do is take the time and effort themselves. This isn't a f@$king charity, you can't just quickly type some garbage and expect us to read it. Now imagine the guys with well over 2000 posts, and the rage that comes. -
280kw?? only 7psi? dyno sheets are in order! Or the bigger question is, have you personaly seen the dyno result or was it that he told you it made that mutch power? You won't find too mutch beievers without some evidence to back it up, but the communtiy will try to help you find a great diff. Lol at 30psi daily!! Grenade motor!!! Because I assume you don't want 30psi to drive around like a granny :jamie: Again a hilux diff is something you might want to look at as they have been proven time and again to survive a beating.

Got a vid of what it sounds like now. Audio quality does not really do it any justice.

Here is what it looks like and what it sounds like

There is a far easier way to do that with far less dicking around, there is a mushroom type pod filter with a flat rubber at the top centre. Drill a hole in the centre and slide it over the carb. Easy as, sounds nice too. I can post some pics if you would like.

already done in a stealth black :jamie:, like the secondaries in the second to last pic.

2 ke 70s at u pull it Elizabeth, one hiace van with a short 5k motor, think I saw the head next to a mitsubishi van. There was a ae82 with a 4age in it, great interior, twincam steering wheel but........ Someone was already stripping everything out of it.

I got the missus to rev the car while I stood behind it to have a real listen to what the exhaust sounded like, bloody amazing. It sounds deep and throaty but not overly loud and drony. None of that crap honda rasp to be heard through any rpm range, its awesome. Only thing now is that the car sounds mean but has not the gutts to back the bark. The merge on the secondary header is roughly the same lengths give or take a cm. I am thinking of making up some extractors now as they are the limiting thing now. (Only did it from secondaries back) As for the power increase it is only minor if even that. But the throttle response seems to be more sharp. Also I don't know why but starting the car is easier, most of the time I don't even have to pump the accelarator for that extra bit of fuel to kick it over. The great thing about this is that I did not have to weld up the merge pipe as it was already there. The pipes used was from a VL commodore and some sort of Falcon, chopped and shaped to fit. Tools used: Gas Mig (with no gas attached) Pliers Hammer Screwdriver Hacksaw Round file Square file Bastard file My back Left pinky finger One right handed glove on my left hand (dog ate all my left hand welding gloves, and yes I went bare handed on the right, zapped a few times when I accidently pressed the trigger pulling the wire free) Also if you hold your tounge in the right position everything works out.

Well I have been sick for the past week so not mutch progress for that week. Sunday was nice and sunny So I decided to finish off the system. I finally got a hold of welding properly with the mig,(only got a hold of it on the final few welds that I did,not shown in the pics) The quality and look of the weld was perfect!! I have never welded so easily before. Basically I made a series of tacs accross the pipe and basically did short bursts of spots accross the whole way, using a high current setting. The mig penetrated throught the entire thickness of the pipe as I could see no lip on the ineer side of the pipe, only the weld. It was a very fine line of bursting holes in it if I wasn't carefull. Anyhows the system is done!!! A bit of dicking around to get the right angles is the only frustrating thing, because you are constantly attaching and detaching the system to make sure it all fits up well. I only had two stuff ups with this, one I have forgotten to put a geasket on the merge with the extractors so it is blowing smoke from there, still runs well though. Two, the exhaust clunks when I hit bumps so I have to see what it is hitting. I can get my hand on the pipe and wriggle it about without any noise so I am thinking it might be the diff hitting the pipe as the suspension contracts. Size comparison The system sounds nice and deep but not drony or loud, it does get louder as you hit high rpm though but it's not something excessive. Looking back at it now, the only thing I would change is the merge pipes as I did not have enough bends and straights to make a neater secondary to merge.
-
Thats why I made the joins one side smaller to give me a lip to properly hold on to, rather than butt-joints. I gave the welds a good whack too when I finished them just to make sure they were strong enough.
-
Sounds like you guys just don't know how to pick a missus. Mine supports my motorsport needs, might even join in a few times ;)
-
Too mutch oil getting in and building up over time? I'm no expert but it might be something to look at.
-
I think you should call someone (RTA) that could actually give you the right answers, I'm only giving second hand information. But from what he was saying I do think that it is possible, so it might be worth chasing up.
-
I beleive you can actually run sidepipes if you seize the rear passengers windows shut. I can't remember who I was talking to at the time I think it was ke70motorsport. You just have to diable the opening of that window.

Would this help with repeated Indian/Chinese takeaway themed afterburner gasses??
-
The system should flow fairly well, I was going to go 2.25" but the falcodores that had those systems didn't have enough straight sections to scavenge. It would have been a good hours work just to get a few decent usable pieces. Alot of people who go to u-pullit don't give a shit about other people, they just smash shit and grab what they need not thinking "oh maybe someone else might want this. Pieces of shit. There was a walker exhause that would have fitted great but someone used it as a pry bar and tore it at the seam, no rust, no buldge, no carbon, it was basically new. Anyhows life has become mutch more difficult now, where the secondaries bolt up to the extractor flange one of the nuts is totally rounded. This means I have to take the manifolds off to get at it.... ;). A few more hours and the system should be great. The only problem that I see with the under diff design is the fact that the diff drops heaps when I jack the car up. my suspension is so soft that it nearly takes the full extension of the jack to get the wheel off the ground. Unless you have stiff as suspension the diff would fall on the exhaust as you jack the car up. Does anyone else have that happen to them?? I have also noticed just how massive my drum brakes are. What was the standard size on a ke55??

was there enough ground clearance??
