  1. hi guys been about 8 years since i was last here thought i would do a quick up date. i had to sell the car a few years ago but still talk to the new owner, its had a lot of time and money put into it by the new owner and is on it's way to 9 second pass, anyway here is a few photos of the new setup.it's making 607hp at the tyres on 28psi on E85 , sad i had to sell it but happy someones put the effort in and it's going good. it's getting a few upgrades and should be back at it and try to crack that 9 soon.
  2. i am running a mgt 8.0 it has a 8.2cc motor 5hp, run it on 30% nitro the thing spin's all 4 wheels on the road and i have to run a wheelie bar to stop it from flipping on it's roof when i hit the throttle. spent alot of money on it and drive it about twice a year i keep jumping it over car's and off wall's and breaking it. i have seen a guy on you tube jump one over a house and thought i will try it but snapped out of it.
  3. hears a v8 one with just a little bit of dish...
  4. have any of them asked you if they want the car running as up hear in sydney most i spoke to would not pass the car untill it was complete and running the way it was going to be engineered as they want to see the car the way it will look on the road and sound as they have to do a noise test and can't do one if the car is not running..
  5. if i get a few thing's fixed and have the time i will be up for a cruz , it will be good to meet some other rolla club member's and day time would be better for me if possible thank's..
  6. i like the above two as well never heard of those band but i like but hear's something that i have had going since 1992 and it still hold's up today brutal truth get it into yah.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmNEDaByjNE...feature=related
  7. i went off cannibal corpse when chris left the band so i followed him to six feet under the first 3 albums are good but don't like the newer stuff.
  8. can't forget fear factory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1BTe_BstkY
  9. he might come to vic to do it as i am in sydney and he is in the act and came up to sydney to do it, i think he does a run up hear every week or two could go down to vic as well but you will have to ask him thank's..
  10. sounds like a sh#t fight mate not good at all the only help i can give is to ring this guy http://www.vehicleengineering.com.au/ they say on there web site they now do victoria this is the same guy that done my car and it look dodgy compared to yours but that said i have rang him to ask about more stuff i want to engineer and he has been a bit hard to get hold of and get info out of so i hope this may help thank's..
  11. thank's mate and to altezzaclub hope you get it working thank's..
  12. trev how are you running the wide band through nissan consult as i have this http://www.ecutalk.com/ but can not get the wideband to input into the ecu so it won't read the wideband i have had it running through nistune untill my laptop crashed and i lost it but lately have been using it on carby car's and just using the digital cauge on it but would like to log the wideband with ecutalk and not do it as a stand alone setup. i done a vl turbo with microtech but only trimed up the base map that came with the computer so he could drive it around and not foul up the plug's before c&v gave it a tune. just about to put my adaptronic ecu on and then it will be a full tune and data logging all the way but untill then i just want to get it working through the consult setup any help would be nice thank's.
  13. the jay car one is narrow band one i have not used a jaycar wideband one as for the narrow band one it's no good for tuning. i am very happy with the aem one but i brought it for the price at the time and have had it on a car that was tune with a motec one and we put the aem one on and it read the same as the motec one so i was happy, my mate's motec one was $1500. i was looking at a plx setup but happy with the aem, once i worked out how to log it and get it running through my laptop it work's fine and have used it on a few carby v8 and have got some good result's, it does a/r and lambda and has a analog out put and a 0-5 volt out put and can be calibrated and a auto meter looking gauge but it is one of the cheaper one's around trev put a link on hear for techedge and they look like they have more functions so have a read. the jay car one is going in the bin that's what i think of it but if you are trying to cheap just a sensor is anywhere up to $100 or so for a good one. i have hear good things about the innovate one as a stand alone setup but never used one i like the aem one but it's the only one i have used.
  14. i would say this is the one you are thinking of i got one on a monday built it hooked it up to a car on tuesday and on wednesday went and got one of this .... you will never look back when you use a wideband mate it is just more money but it well worth it. the narrow band only worked around 14.7 on light cruz and the wideband was reading from 10.1-18.1 , as it's name say's you have a wider band to look at. the aem one cost me $350 so not as dear as some.
  15. i know it's not a ca18 and the 4k mount's been cut down a bit but you can see the rb20 mount slides into the 4k one you have to grind the little tab off the rb20 one and grind the 4k side a little, as for a straight bolt in i have herd it does but never seen it so i can't confirm that one so i hope this helps a bit.
  16. i am not posting this link to be a smart ass just so people can have a read and make there own mind up.. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_blow_o...ow_does_it_work
  17. parkway drive sleepwalker the film clip for this song is one of the best ive seen lately and they are aussie's..
  18. in one second google showed this at the top of the list it does not say how it was done but it has one. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/s...KE70-Skid-rolla!
  19. ok first of all sorry trev and guys, trev is right about the bov between gear changes and the fact it needs vacuum to open should of clicked in my head but only just now after i went over my notes i was thinking of my mates car which run's a overboost bypass value which open's up between gear changes some times and sound like a bov so i hope you all no now what is going on and once again sorry and i will go and pull my foot out of my mouth.
  20. i am glad you don't mind. this is why people should not reply with an answer like you are wrong just reply that you have a different idea on how that work's as you can give people more options on the subject. if you get alot of people disagreing with what you said then you might change your mind i have pull out some notes i have of when i was starting out with turbo's and i have to eat me word's a little on the auto and a bov as it is only turbo life that you should run one for and big horse power car won't be affected like low horsepower manual cars but like you said it's a choice i like the flutter but nissan run the bov from factory so i left it there. are you still going to run e85 it should help with the emissions test and by the way do you have to pay for an emissions test to be done i heard that down in mexico that it is up to $3000 to be done. trev i am sorry i only just relised what i said about the auto and bov between gear changes you are right i read it wrong so sorry.....
  21. please read the post better i said TRY not will and this is not my thread and i don't want to piss off wpn36 so no more please. theory is not fact and once again i only offer option's not answer's...
  22. did you miss the bit where i said cheap turbo's and the part where i said you don't have to run one and the part where i said it not that bad with auto's look trev i don't want to get caught up in what you think work's and what i think work's but as i said i only give option not answer's if you think i am wrong that's all right you can think what you want i am going by what ive seen not what i was told every one has there own way of doing thing's and people can make there own mind's up for reading every part of the post and when you are making big horsepower you wont notice it, at the end of the day factory car's run bov to help the turbo last longer not so much for power and when i run a bov on an auto it is to prolong the life of the turbo. trev i want to no what you think about cylinder pulsing and the affect it has on the turbine as i am just starting to read up on it and i see you make manifolds and want to know what you think thank's.
  23. i have a 5000rpm convertor in my car and i can tell you that the rpm changes when the gears change and the boost level as well i have alot of mates with turbo cars some run bov some don't but you just gave your self the answer when you said the bov vent to atmosphere when this happen's the turbo keeps spining and when you don't have one all the air rushes back from the trottle body closing and hits the turbo blades and stops them dead and that's what cost time on the strip an yes it's not that bad with an auto but i think you need to do some research as i just do testing with real car's under real condition's at the dragway with mate's and an engine tuner so if you want to listen to car's that's fine i will be the guy driving the car's you listen to. i rang the engine tuner with the f1 stuff he had to give the folder back so no help there..
  24. jason i should of said at 80,000rpm the air pumping through it trys to make the sharft spin backwards it does stop the turbine dead in it's track's at this speed and faster it put's alot of force on the sharft and will cause damage some will last along time some wont it's luck of the draw. trev when an auto changes gears does the rpm of the engine change yes it does so the turbo will slow down between gear changes and the fact when you do a burnout you back off the trottle it will be under load and then again when you cross the line it will be under stress again and and i should of explaned it better in the first place but the idea is to keep the turbo spining, because when the turbine slows down you lose time and to spool it back up again it take's time witch you lose on the strip every 100th of a second can count. and for longer life as well. i will say it is not as important with a auto as it is with a manual yes i am back tracking on that one but it does help and if you don't want to run a bov don't run one but i am just trying to give option's not answer's i have seen the differance between the same car with one and with out one and it ran .2 of a second faster with the bov and the turbo is a $200 e-bay junker and it has a couple of 10 second pass up it's sleve.
  25. i think he will remove the head light and then it will be cold air induction as you should know turbos love cold air as for the bov you should run one as they keep the turbo spin in the right direction between gear changers and can make the turbo last longer as letting a turbo flutter at high boost can wreak them, some cheap e-bay turbo's have to run bov's so they don't snap the turbine of the sharft the first time you use it, i have witnessed this on a mate's car the first one lasted 100km and the second one with the bov has been running 21psi for 2000km without a problem.. ps love the ke20 just about all the fastest race car's run bov's and cold air intake's
