  1. Sounds like faulty capacitors in the ecu, from what I read when mine had a similar problem
  2. Not sure if he's a member on here, he contacted me through gumtree, but I'll send them through to you anyway
  3. Well 'Mick' is still around, just contacted me then trying to buy a ke70 rear louvre for $300 Know his home phone number and address if anyone needs it Take care guys
  4. I am looking for another car soon with very similar requirements to yours, the cars I have in mind are: EP91 Starlet- Cheap to buy, plenty around (both on the road and in wreckers), toyota reliability, fuel efficient (probably around 6L/100kms), simple, timing belt, 1.3ltr K11 Micra - Cheap to buy but not many around (forsale and in wreckers), reliabe, fuel efficient (around 5.5-6L/100kms), timing chain, 1.3ltr AE92/AE101 corolla - Even cheaper than the above, they are everywhere, reliable, fuel efficient (around 7L/100kms), timing belt, 1.6ltr (I used to have an AE92 daily and it was great) Early (1999-2001) Echo - Getting newer, has some newer technology but still simple, reliable, fuel efficient (around 5.5-6L/100kms) timing chain, 1.3ltr (My mother has one of these and at first its pretty ugly but some tint and wheels fixes that, dunno if its just hers but has a huge flat spot of no power in the low revs of second gear)
  5. My temperature guage was going to max after my conversion as well, check the earth for the temperature guage (at the cluster), plretty sure we just ran a new earth and it fixed it
  6. Okay cheers, cars looking good btw!
  7. Are they BC camber tops? Were you able to order just the camber tops by them self through BC?
  8. That jack looks very similar to this one that sprint stores sell for about $130ish, they were on sale for $99 at fathers day last year. A friend bought one for his dad and it slowly went down in use, but I think he got it replaced fine and haven't heard about it since. its pretty damn heavy, bit under 35kg apparently Heres the one I'm talking about http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121148280734?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  9. Without vents would be something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BMW-3-SERIES-E36-CHROME-SIDE-LIGHT-REPEATER-INDICATORS-/290880439649?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43b9d34561&_uhb=1
  10. Looks like these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Chrome-Clear-Side-Indicator-Signal-Universal-BMW-style-/370494000560?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564329cdb0&_uhb=1
  11. Yeah saw those threads earlier, I think I'll just try to get some GM oil if I need some, Cheers
  12. Do you know what supercharger oil you are running? I think my AE92 daily might have died last night so my 4agze conversion might be happening sooner than I thought. And thinking I might as well change the charger oil while the engine is out the car (if it needs doing that is) Cheers
  13. Oh, I swear I read on the previous page that you changed it haha
  14. Hey Reed, what oil did you use in the supercharger?
  15. Hmmmm okay, I'll see how I go once i actually get around to it.Thanks for the help!
  16. What do you class as a 'heavy duty' bash plate? What material and how thick? And yeah in SA we have U-Pull-It which is a self serve wreckers so ill just go there and see what fits.
  17. Yeah I was going to cut the original bracket below the power steering and then make my own brackets and tensioner mount for the alternater, but then I saw the power steering runs off the air con, so unless a power steering pulley fits off another 4a is is the right offset and all, I will probably just make a bash plate and try and take it easy. I would like to just stiffen up the front of the car but I'm trying to spend the least I can as I'm basically only building the car with stuff I have already and it really only needs to last until i can afford and have time to build a 4age ke70 rally car, which shouldnt be too long. Might see if i can find some springs at the wreckers from a heavier car that will fit ae92 struts. And pretty sure I have the proper 4agze gearbox with lsd
  18. Wow, hadn't check this thread since before the roll, such a shame it happened so soon and without yourself driving and so easily! Anyway I'm planning on building something pretty similar, but with ae93 sx liftback (would have rathered a hatchback). But just wanted to know if you bottomed the engine out with your original suspension setup, as to start with I will be staying with stock suspension. The alternator and sump hangs pretty low on the 4agze in ae93 and my local track does have a hump, which looks easy to get air off. I'm thinking i might shift the alternator up as I'm removing the aircon but still need power steering, so thinking of making a bracket while the engines out, if not just making a bash plate. Advice? cheers
  19. Thought I would share this, not real low but its half price and would be okay to use with low ramps http://www.superchea...id=324009#Cross
  20. I wouldnt worry a whole lot about the height as like you said further down the jack usually hits before you reach the cross member. Make up some wooden low ramps and you wont have to worry about the jack height :)
  21. In that case, an ae82 4age would probably come up a bit cheaper, but just grab what ever pops up cheap
  22. AE93 SX is a good car, has the 100kw smallport 4AGE, has a dash cluster with oil pressure and battery voltage guages, has a smaller leather steering wheel, bit better seats. And most of all you can get them for $1000-2000, just have to be patient sometimes
  23. Yeah like it says above, just pull them apart and swap the internals, just mark/ remember where everyhing goes. Once you take one apart you'll know how it goes. Or just return it and make sure the new one you get has the return
