  1. This is what it looks like when you mount it off the Aircon bracket, the plumming might be a pain but seems simple
  2. Why didnt you just mount the Sc off the aircon bracket so much easier and cleaner.
  3. Evan G - Did a quick google search and could only find a couple of topics but no info on where to purchase them and pricing. Some pics would be great! blzbub666 - Are the gaskets that you get from supercrap and Repco up to the job? SLO-030 - How hot do K exhausts get? I got some 300'c enamal paint in the garage but will probably wrap them in heat sheild stuff. Thanks Guys
  4. Watched the last vid like 10 times :) Sounds very healthy around 30 seconds Some engine bay pics would be great ! What were the major issues you ran into?
  5. 4k Head – Has to be Flat piston head 5k Block – Has to be dished piston block, how to spot a dished piston block it has no welsh plugs along the cam journals as well as the displacement (1486cc) cast just below the deck height. 2 Types of Dished pistons in 5k "O-dish" - around 6-8cc - The O-dish 5K had no lugs. Virtually identical to a 4K head, smaller ports. "D-dish" - around 22cc - The D-dish 5K had the lugs on the head and slightly bigger ports. 4k Head with 5k block will decrease compression to 8.2:1 Running 8psi of boost compression will be around 12.4 Lighting Flywheel to around 4kg-5kg Balance crank, pulley, flywheel, rods and pistons See if I can use a Gilmore belt from a 4k aircon for the supercharger Still haven’t found dimensions info of the pulleys, some info would be grand.. Camshaft – 112@40 grind 4k solid cam - kickn5k :y: Extractors – Whatever pops up, been looking at the coby extractors on Trade me Carbs - Maybe a 32/36 or twin 40, Depends on budget ( need more researching in this ) Fuel pump needs to be running more than double the pressure going through the Sc Other info Use 4k Head bolts Stronger Thread Use some grease on the head bolts if not torque numbers will be incorrect if not. Info I'm chassing - Where to buy a full 5k gasket kit ( needs to be strong like Russia ) - Pulley Dimensions - Carbs Thats all for now Cheers
  6. No there is no " bolt up kits " for a 4k , these engine were made in the 70 , 80's and were never intended for boost. all made from scratch..not hard tho if you know what you doing. Fast and the furious was also not around in the 80's..
  7. How much that little efi set you back :hmm: ...
  8. Agreed, You watch more ads then the Blady show, I Downloaded a top gear episode off the torrents and it was just over 40 mins , The other 20 minutes on normal tv would be some company trying to sell super duper suck the ocean up tampons and cookers that cook your meat 2.323 seconds faster then normal ..WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT :bash:
  9. don't want to run it wide at 1:57.. hahah Any know whos car this is? would love to see it..
  10. Who said they not good for hillclimbing?
  11. 7k fuel injection is really common just phone your local wreckers , I found more 7k fuel injecton engines than 5k engines when I rang all my local wreckers..
  12. The boot conversion is worth every CENT!
  13. It hasnt seen hills yet but definetly will after the new engine, I don't see why it wouldn't be good in the hills, nice little revy engine with some boost, light weight , short wheel base , and some good suspension.
  14. How much it set you back after Rego if you don't mind me asking?
  15. Going to throw a 4k head on it to lower compression and run about 6-8 Psi so it can be used as a daily , with all the typical cams, extractors, bla bla bla...... huge amounts of trolling pages looking for info got Microsoft Word open and just copy paste whatever i think is good info. Yea 100 would be nice, after that wouldnt mind 120kw so then it has the same power to weight ratio as your typical rice's(180, silva , 200 )
  16. Oh man thats sexy.... now thats a proper drift bus..
  17. HAHAHAH! I knew i was bidding against some rolla members for it! yea sneaked that last bid in at the last seconds so no one could type there bids in! I'm in search of 100kw from it with a Sc12 , so we shall see :)
  18. If you changing your cam I recommend getting extractors to feel the affects of your new cam, But you should know a Worked 4k will just keep up with a bog standard 5k. Look around for a 5k should pick up 1 for $100-$400 they came out of Toyota liteaces and Hiace (Plenty off wrecked 1's around ) And should be legal in your state and is pretty much a bolt in...
  19. Bought my 5k today and doing this conversion exactly like yours but using sc12( got it for free :) ) with balanced everything, extractors all that fancy stuffs ! Expect me to rape you with Questions :D What Bhp or kw do you think you got guesstimate? Cheers
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110661566482&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT Mine Mine Mine! :)
  21. Yea Understandable, was reading some laws last night And came over some good info These were some laws the stated you would not need Enginnering Cert to be legal. 1Fitting equivalent engines with an increase of up to 20% of original power. - 4k = 58hp 5k = 70hp which is 20% 2)Fitting a manufacturer’s optional engine together with any associated components as supplied by the manufacturer for that same model vehicle - The 5k was offered in the ke70 in japan http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/pdf/NCOP3_Section_LA_Engine_01jan2011_v3.pdf Cheers
