  1. as carbonboy said ae8X's would be a good start, they don't have to be twincams either remember there is 4ac variant. or you could go with a early 1989 ae9x's with a 4afc, just about a bullet proof engine and if you do kill one, they easy to find in most wrecking yards
  2. been there, although i did get 2 months notice, it's just that i didnt get anything i wanted done in the 4weeks, i had off due to family having to be hopitalised
  3. minor update on parts finding, new deep dish steering wheel installed ---> momo one will be cleaned up/leather fixed and stored for later use ;) door handles from a corolla GT/Sprinter with a chrome stripping on the way (bling factor only) have the front markers and associated wiring to make them work (hopefully) last pieces i need are, headlights with in built foglights + grill to suit (have 2 or 3 lead but time will tell) GT/FXGT/Sprinter etc etc etc mirrors (as above) cup holders from a japanese/euro spec car (don't tell me about the one on ebay i know about them and I'm not paying $99) levin seats or full interior from a japanese model preferably in blue or maybe maroon just to be different. still minor niggling issues with the TPS causing random stalling, also needs the injector dwell/dead timing adjusted to stop the hunting idle when 2 or more accessories are tuned on, when the car is cold.
  4. just need to know where to look :P and just to tease you i have a set of 15x7's in +25 waiting to go on the seca ;) and the coilovers should be a direct bolt on affair. oh and welcome to the fwd ae chassis club, once you join you never really leave
  5. no the feeling shades, some dipshit did the same to my 4age exhaust manifold at some stage in its life, and it resulted in the 4age out and a 4agte put in its place, 12 odd months off of the road
  6. sa doesnt have stickers :P trust me its sucks as i used to paid 6 months rego at a time. when they brought the no sticker idea in they dropped the 6 months rego option off of the list. so its either 3months or 12 months :|
  7. i have no answers that would be justifiably suitable, except stay off the road if you to do those speeds down hill. plus i hope i don't live is the same state as you.
  8. << S2 corner lights + S1 guards + plus side repeaters tucked behind S1 gaurds = S1.5 with nice smooth lines with no orange warts on the guards. police don't even look twice at my car has been like since i bought and that was bout 5 years ago and god know how long it was like it before.
  9. no problems mate, try trademe.nz its a new zealand website kinda like ebay you may just find what your looking for.
  10. ShAe82, try and find a set from an ae82 fxgt for your ae82 check our Bugz ride thread for images edit: they look like this for the ae82 fxgt
  11. my old 4afc lived on the limit some days and never missed a beat until the timing belt went :P could be a high tension lead as well, or check the dizzy cap as well.
  12. sedan, hatch and seca all interchangeable. ae95 only the fronts should be swappable
  13. i never had a problem, with the rears on my seca and to my knowledge they had'nt been rebuilt in the 18+ years on the road, according to the maintenance receipts i have. (and only recently swapped over to reconditioned unit when i did the GTE swap) When i did swapped over the rear brakes on the hatch back, i bought replacement hand brake cables as the ones that came with the setup were a wee bit stretched like your local pro down at the corner pub.
  14. yes there is an ae95 here on rollaclub with airbags, i do believe the users name is kebin. and if i remember back a few years ago there was a blue ae9X seca for sale on carsales and ebay that had airbags.
  15. if its going to be for street use go and find some ae92 levin seats nicer than the sx versions and they are direct bolt in to. and they look like this
  16. pain in the arse? you must be doing it wrong :P i found it easier and the plus side is larger rear brakes are then available from later model corollas, ie 266mm from the ae101/111. ps i hated the drums on the my crappadore, and i also hated changing them on the bedford vans and ford transits i've worked on in the past.
  17. you will have to pull it forward then out to the side as there is a locating pin.
  18. highly unlikely is all i can say.
  19. that fine i don't mind you copying what i have done, it will be different as its going into a ae82. But i recommend going with a coil on plug ignition setup, as it looks a lot neater and you can use a toyota coil on plug from the 1nzfe :y:
  20. the good and the bad news. good news: i have a tach that works again bad news: not making 160kw atw good news: because of the new dump pipe, its comes on boost earlier, with much more of a punch bad news: not making 160kw atw eh so not making a 160 kw atw I'm fine with, because the original plan with the car was to make 150kw atw. well it basically makes that now on a steady 14psi, (read 148kw atw @ 6200 rpm). low and mid range now has much more punch, which are due to the tweaks in the map and the new dump pipe. so I'm pretty sure i now have the mechanical side of the car now sorted, except i might just tinker with the suspension setup. now i can focus on finding those few parts i want from japan, like the fx-gt mirrors, sprinter headlights with factory fog lights, set of front guards with the corner markers and getting the rota slipstreams fitted and getting a set of enkei rfp1 for track work or vice versa, its not set in stone yet.
  21. yep zaklee. little bit more expensive but i didnt mind hopefully should have the car back by friday at the latest, with new dump, retune and hopefully a working tacho (by doing a switching relay mod, plus changing the pulse coming from the ecu to suit the relay means in theory a pulse the tacho can read)
  22. clear timing belt cover  not bad 8 days from japan :rocknroll:
  23. +1 can you send some of that popcorn this way please
  24. your not kidding buddy, since you been away again i've actually got the seca running and back on the road. nice to hear of progress on the rona though
  25. 4afte AWD FTW :finger:
