*shudders* thats the only thing i have seen thats worse than small diameter wires... fake small diameter wires :y: I would be more inclined to go look for some later (80s maybe) corona wheels or something... something other than those hubbies! JP

Thats going to be crazy coin... You would be better off going an aftermarket 4 bar setup rather than trying to make a later model corolla or similar setup work in your car. Even going to a later jap irs will be a nightmare. I would ask the question of why you want to get rid of the so called crappy leafs in the rear? In a car such as a Corolla you can make them work quite well for anything you could ever throw at it on the street and most things you can point the car into on the track. Simple things like making sure all of your bushes are in good condition will be a big step in the right direction if they are shot, having an extra leaf added and the springs reset and re tempered to suit your car would be a good way to go also (and for about the cost of an aftermarket set of coil springs). A rear sway bar (to match a front one) and if your getting really serious a set of caltrack type bars to stop diff wind up and possibly a panhard bar or watts linkage to take some of the strain off the springs around corners (in that it will locate the diff rather than the springs locating it AND working as springs). If you get a chance (and I'm not sure if they have events of the like in your area) head to a local 2litre sports sedan race or similar at a race day, I know of a few corollas running around melbourns racetracks that still use the leafs and do so very well.. They will be a wealth of knowledge if you approach them the right way and it will end up saving you many dollars and headaches trying to sort out a different rear end when its not really needed. End Rant :y: JP

Hi everyone! Just a reminder that your deposits need to be in tomorrow. I will be fine with getting them early nxt week due to bank times etc but after then you will be up for a late fee! The deposits are needed to secure our camp sites and we do not have enough people at the moment to make the trip. Good news though, we are booked in at the PowerHouse car museum in Portland on the Monday. There will be some of the vintage car club members on hand to give us a tour and have a friendly chat. Those of you that came last year will know it's worthy of a visit! Also, please reply to pm's from me if you have one! I need shirtsizes from everyone and need to know if you are coming or not. Cheers. Jarrad.

Will catch you there Adam, looking forward to it. Will be trying to drum up some interest for the gor over dinner! JP
-
Mildura hey, will keep an eye out for this when I'm back home visiting the family! Nice sleepy falcon, something that would scoot along nicely and not draw the attention of Milduras police... Jarrad.

Hendo, sounds great if you have the time. I think we will be sorted wherever we end up though! As long as it's not the maccas carpark! And just puttin it down, kickn5k will be coming also, pretty sure webers will be too.

Matt, Vess, I'm sorry to hear you won't be making the trip and about the job loss. Especially at this time of year. Will be sure to catch you some other time! Things are getting close to ready over here, not much left to sort out. Can't wait. JP

Hoggies would be a good option, if only for the memprabilia usually thrown 'round the place. Whats parking like there? I'm assuming it would be in the main shopping centre? Any more suggestions? Might as well ask! Looing forward to this :D JP

Hi all. Was thinking about a break up cruise but it never ends up happening. So the next best thing is dinner and drinks somewhere we can all get to. More details will follow but the date will be (ok... so I changed it!) the 18th December. That's a Friday (unless I got it wrong) so a few people will have to work the next day but I'm sure it should be all good? Time will be 6:30 meet at the destination with dinner ordered by 7:30. Will go til we all go home or get kicked out! Let me or dfunkt know what you think. JP
-
Just another update, The list of people interested in coming etc has been posted in the info thread in the Vic section.. Please check it out and let me know what you think. All who have shown interest will recieve a PM shortly re the GOR cruise as well.. JP

There used to be a 'rona in Melbourne that used to race at Calder running a gas recearch fed, turboed etc 202 in it... ran 10's for many years and looked stock as a rock.. Not sure how she would handle with the big 6 up front past the wheels but I can't see it being to bad. Would be a great cruiser/bruiser for minimal coin. JP
-
Hi all! don't forget, deposits will be needed asap for our accomodation! Hope many of you can make it. JP
-
Hi toyrta, Thankyou for posting this up for us to see, but truth be told this belongs in the for sale section. If you would post it up there in the proper format that would be great. JP
-
Cheers all, It's coming along well. Will be alot quicker a bit after christmas! Will be turbo time...

Yes there will be a list shortly, just have to wait until there is someone to put on it  Bank deposit details are in the info thread gor those who would like to go that way about it. Matt, two days are fine mate. In fact, it will work out well for you as Sunday we will be doing the ocean road to Apollo bay so you could depart from there. Bring on the run, but bring on the numbers first so we can actually make it happen! JP
