  1. Hmm good stuff! Time for the NT Rollaclub revival then??? As previously mentioned, I will be wondering round in my RC shirt, shouldnt be able to miss it.. Say Gday. Now to find something to do tonight... might go find somewhere to do "slownuts" in the diesel hilux :D
  2. It may... but you just wait :D
  3. As I'm sitting in the Darwin airport I thought I had better post up again! The track day sounds good, my old man would be pretty keen on it too. Will have me wanting to get stuck into my 11 asap! The rear quater on the 20 was always sad, hopefully it hasn't gotten worse! It's got a very cranky sounding 4k in it, you should hear it with a hotdog and sidepipe! I will be reppin RC at the show and probably the rack too with my GOR RollaClub shirt, keep an eye out and say hello! Sunday sounds good too, anyday really! Will be cruising around at a snails pace in a hilux this week... At least it's a Toyota :D JP
  4. Ahh... Yeah... Was a small seemingly unfunny joke of the day! Was the one headlight reference on the car... But yeah he went a bit crazy! :rolls: will have to upload the better one I think, tis much better. Either way, it should go well in the 11 considering it's 2/3 the wieght. JP
  5. The new 5k for the 11 goes alright :rolls: JP
  6. Sorry, but this belongs in the for sale section. Please by all means post it up in there Sam. Only bad things will come of it being here :rolls: JP
  7. Cheers Johno, will do! The 5k and 5 speed are resting at my place now, will get to removing the 4k and 4speed soon to clean up the engine bay. Pretty sure I'm just going satin black for this one, will be nicely done with everything painted/detailed properly. The chrome plater owes me some favours so you never know what will happen! Also, the car will get everything done before body and paint, I will do the rust repairs etc and make the car presentable but the final job will be done after I have has the car hooning round fora while do I can sort out the bugs. This way if anything needs to change or be modified I don't have to worry about ruining fresh paint! Will be tidy, just not as good as I will be. Plus, I can see myself cutting into this car :P JP
  8. Mr giant killer, how are you. Cheers for the move too Si. As far as the regular melbournites go I'm not sure if any of us have an A motor in a 30 to 55. Pete at the Toyota car club has one in his 35 coupe though so he may be able to help. The only conversion over in franga I know of would be Pozman with his ca18 powered 35. Hopefully someone else knows of a far with the conversion? JP
  9. Well, had a bit of fun this weekend over at TE278U's worskshop, got busy pulling the parts car appart and brought home a 5k and 5speed for it, should do nicely in the 11 once the twins are on it and I get Stu's hot head on it to bump the comp up then throw in a decent cam. Trust me, the stock 5k did wekk enough in the ke26! Engine will go in a s soon as I get the 4k and 4 speed out and pain the bay, pretty simple little engine bay to paint so it wont take long... especially as I'm just after the clean and simple look, not a show car after all. New wheels too, I have some rebels for it that look suitable japanese but they are 114.3pattern and I cbf changing it over at the moment, so on went the cheviot jelly beans from the parts wagon, a rather large improvement I must say! And I will be giving them a polish later on to get them looking really good. Other than that, its still slow going at the moment. Wont be long til things pick up and it starts going together ready for some fun. JP Ahh... excuse the rust and dents!
  10. Ok, a bit pissed off... Just typed up a big update and lost it all due to my slow upload on YouTube! Bugger! Will sort it again later! Either way, bring on the run to the seat! :P
  11. Just have to look around philbey, I had a look at the summit website, its huge but you get the hang of it. The jegs website is quite good as well. Pretty much like our VPW and Rocket industries but bigger and in the states. I even found some companies selling them on ebay motors in the good ol US of A, due to the conversion rate at the moment ($$ is around 93c!) it makes for a cheap ignition. Did a quick look around Summit: MSD 6al approx AU$265 delivered (at 93c) Click The Big Gun 6al-2 Programable approx AU$430 delivered (at 93c) Click Crane Hi-6 (similar to MSD 6al but digital)approx AU$333 delivered (at 93c) Click Ok, I have led this thread a bit off topic, sorry. but to finish for mr Philbey  The 6al-2 Programable (pn:6530) is the ducks guts, laptop programable, you can run your existing dizzies ignition curve and use it as a normal msd with options or lock out your dizzy, set a high initial advance and program your curve back from there to how you want it whenyou want it. optional (as in you turn it on or off etc) start retard, step retard, boost proportional retard (with your own boost curve ignition map), n2o retard, can be setup to run with pretty much any single coil ignition, optional 1, 2 or 3 bar map sensor to allow for the boost retard and vac advance, multiple rev limits... the list goes on. I will be running one to control my boosted carby fed slant six in my Val, I will most likely be running a 6AL for my ke11, this will give me a grouse spark to light the fire in the 5k and allow me to have an efi computer to run it when its boosted later on. Overkills my best mate :) Again, sorry for the slight highjack... The info may be usefull :jamie: JP
  12. Hi Mitch, I think you will find the answers your after in frogs first post. JP Pretty sure the padal box would be a modded std one.
  13. Slo was on the right track, it's the msd 6al-2. The new digital msd 6 series. I'm about to buy the even better msd 6al-2 programmable. Part no 6530. This is a fully laptop programable version that can be hooked to a map sensor to give boost sensitive ignition etc. Can have more than one ignition map to cheese from etc. Will go well on my turbo wagon anyway, what I'm trying to get to is that they are certainly worth it on a worked engine, wouldn't bother with more than a factory elec ignition on a stocker. If you play your cards right and skip the middle man (over here anyway) you can save a shitload on your msd. Buy it from jegs or summit racing from the states. Especially with the dollar the way it is. The 6530 is worth over $800 in aus, I'm getting it fro under $500 with a three bar Map sensor and shipping. Can't beat it. A normal 6al or 6al-2 is worth peanuts compared to that. Go for it !
  14. Frog, call Danny at onsite windscreens and tell him Jarrad at Sunshine trimming put you onto him. I spoke to him about mine a short while ago and he told me he can get one no problems, he works on rods and custom all day and does all our work, his number is 0438 326 692. Hopefully he will be able to help a bit sooner that 5 weeks! Jarrad
  15. Will see what i can do Daniel. An no good on no engine! That rules out a lap round the block!
  16. Ke1x porn is very hard to find... Until now! Very very nice work, would love to see it someday, Vic plates so somewhere around melb? Keep it up, it's gettin me into gear for my 11. JP
  17. Actually, might mention this here. The NT rolla scene has recently been given a boost in the form of Tates (dfunkt) old ke20, it was recently registered somewhere around Darwin so keep your eyes and ears out for a very camy red 20 with globe rims on it. JP
  18. You may not be revving it as hard but the increase in cylinder pressure will more than make up for it in a blown application. If you spend the same amount on a blown engine as you would an na engine then that's different. If your after a budget blower setup that will be fun for a while go for it, just be prepared to change engines every 6 to 12 months depending on boost pressure, amount driven, engine condition and how you drive it, not to mention the tune. Still, go for it. It will be a bunch of fun. Once the boost bug bites and you get sick of popping engines then look at building something better! Have a good read through tazrx's thread on his turbo beast, will give you plenty of direction! JP
  19. My god... I can't believe stu got the animal out! Will have to stir him up about another cruise now! Looks like a great trip guys, I'm crook as a dog and don't have a cool car that's driving atm, will try another time! JP
  20. The question needs to be asked, how's the beast coming along?
  21. Bout time you started posting up here again! Haven't "spoken" to you in ages, might have to meet up when I'm up north. These wagons are pretty cool, something different to look at and you can get them to handle really well. There's a neat white one with a turbo 4age in it around melb, looks great and goes better! Got a good start there chief, keep it up!
  22. Well, I'm making a trip up there from the 21st of may (Friday) for a week, hopefully that's an excuse gor a meet/cruise? I know I'm not that special, but I want to meet dome NT RC folk! JP
  23. I'm with Cam, I would build something just to get it passed. There are restrictions, check out the Vic roads website. JP
  24. If your able to make them yourself then you shouldn't really need the measurements. The easiest and smartest way for you to get these done wound be to make or have made plates that are the same as A series mounts on the block side and K series mounts that are the same on the engine mount side (I hope that made sense?), bolt these in there respective places then lower the engine to where you want it, measure up the area between your new plates and make up the difference in steel, tack them in place and bobs your Aunty. Of course you have to make it neat, weld them properly and make a gearbox cross member but that's the basic idea of custom mounts. The last set I did I made the gearbox crossmember first with everything where I wanted it, this gave me my locating point to start the engine mounts. This way I could shift the engine around until it cleared EVERYTHING nicely and gave me the correct tailshaft angle etc. If you able to do it yourself then you probably know it's easier than it's made out to be, just get a proffesional welder to tig it up and get a detailed reciept, will cover you if you are getting it engineered. Sorry for the long post, wasn't something I could do in 20 words  JP
  25. Highly advise a couple of lessons before you go, it's money well spent. You will be suprised what they pick you up on, I thought I was ready but there were a few things that would have had me loose points very easily. your first lesson will just be making sure you can drive, from there you will get parking and merging with traffic etc. You will get some good gear out of that. Good luck with the lessons and licence test!
