  1. that's nice, custom i assume? you'll break unis or the welds before you break the shaft i reckon
  2. roads have been closing all day around here. i'm around alstonville/wollongbar area, which is between lismore and ballina, currently i can't get anywhere except goonellabah, which is ok cos all my friends are there, and there's a coles there, and an iga in my village so i can buy food and stuff :y: we're up on a mountain plateau here, so the water gathers but runs off pretty quick. the pedestrian underpass near my work was totally submerged by 10am, the amount of standing water was amazing to see the highway is closed southbound and north of ballina, byron bay is totally shut, the highway to ballina was closed last i heard but is probably open now, and just about every minor road i can think of has been shut down or is underwater. it stopped raining about 2pm, they reckon it'll clear up tomorrow and be sunny from saturday for the next month or so they've been evacuating lismore all day, emergency calls all day on the radio. we got a call at work to rescue the expensive parts of an ATM which was due to go under, and there's already a call in to rebuild a bank branch where the tellers hastily ripped out all all the equipment and stashed it upstairs. almost all the schools and stuff are closed, so people can have their kids with them in case they get cut off. lots of people out of town just bought heaps of groceries and alcohol and are making a weekend out of it  lismore is half underwater, schools and servos and churches and heaps of houses are submerged. the flood levee can hold 10.95M of water, and it's already up over 10, they expect it to peak at 5am tomorrow. the shots on the news are mad, you might have seen the shell servo on dawson street with water up over the pumps, or the building next to katie's school with water almost up to the top of the doorframe my boss always jokes how he wants lismore to wash away, he might just get his wish. i hope it doesn't, we'd have SO much work on if it did! my friends went for a drive and got some camera phone pics, just incredible to see. now there's just this eerie THICK fog over the whole area, you can't see two lamp posts in front of you
  3. whatever magazine it was that did up the excel ages ago, found massive increases by changing to a twin throttle body setup of course, this was just fixing the factory restrictive throttle body setup. if you do the same thing to an sr20 you'll be lucky to get 5hp out of it, because the stock stuff is already well designed and efficient for the needs of the motor
  4. in fred puhn's "how to make your car handle" he describes understeer as where the driver gets scared, oversteer is where the passenger gets scared that made me laugh
  5. lol, well said
  6. and you guys thought google maps was good, get Google Earth and watch your internet connection die :D behold lismore in all it's... well, crappiness. you really have to see how this thing moves tho, it's amazing. some of the stuff in america is in 3D!!!
  7. nice, de-rice-ing a car :D full marks again!
  8. where's pooraka?
  9. i believe it's possible. if they can make 760kw out of a 3sgte, then you can make 165hp out a 3k. it just wouldn't last very long
  10. 4k blocks suffer from bad harmonics above 8000, so that or below a general rule of thumb for reciprocating parts strength says not to rev a 4k cranked engine (which is 5k as well) past 7600rpm doug has built a 4k then a 5k with the same cam, and says that a 5k is like a 4k, with more power, and shift the powerband 1000rpm lower so really, there's no reason to rev a 5k past 7 grand, even if it will do 11000rpm when you want it to
  11. not so there are like, two or three different types of ae86 diff pumpkins and axles. i believe you can swap a "kouki" type lsd into an early T housing (eg: te72) but not the later "zenki" or whatever a quick search on toymods or club4ag will give all the info one needs :D
  12. looks like a neat little sedan :D you definitely need to ditch the led exhaust tip tho :D
  13. BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA *falls off chair*
  14. and cheaper. parts for ae71 are a dime a dozen, mention the word ae86 and it's bring your chequebook
  15. *wipes a tear* that was beautiful :D nice to see someone learning car control BEFORE the make enough power to kill themselves. got any bigger pics of the car?
  16. it has CVs, it's not cheaper than a corolla best colt site ever :P
  17. nothing beats the mitsubishi colt power/economy lever TEN SPEED MANUAL!!!
  18. doug's was a 28/36 DCD i think. either that or 28/32. the smaller choke gave it good response. but i think that carb ended up on becky's ke16 he mentioned owning a 32/26 with the smaller chokes, but it might just be a shelf item. i think he put the renault turbo weber on his current 5k can't remember, getting old :P *calls out* doug!!!
  19. you can get a DGV with smaller chokes, i think doug has one. these go quite well, even on a stock 3k believe it or not
  20. it would be a pretty good size then
  21. MR, all wheel drive
  22. and if you've ever seen the jeremy clarkson movie with the modified rs200, or even played gt4 with a stock one, they're twitchy impossible little things to drive. good on paper, a pain in the ass IRL from everything i've seen about them
  23. best photo ever! :P
  24. where's the photo of rob looking very lost with redwrf?
