  1. hey Q, don't suppose you guys have had the chance to grab that auto shifter assembly yet??
  2. corona box's are quite common and tuff, but for say a pretty standard 13b or 12a just use a rx7 series 1,2,3 box. cheap and bolt straight on. or for a bit more power handling a series 4 or 5 13b turbo box. as for diffs, early hilux's are the choice for most old school rotary mazdas as they are very close in width and its not hard at all to use discs and lsd's from later hilux's. the whole later hilux diffs are not really suitable for them as they are. all thats really require to put one of the early hilux diffs in a mazda (and would be the same for the corolla is cuuting off the leaf hangers and welding on the mazda ones in the right position. :(
  3. hehe, 13b bridgy + 48mm IDA + locked dizzy + no vac advance + 10,000 rpm = BIG FLAMES!!! :( oh yeah.......post butterfly as love_ke70 said.
  4. the sight you're probably thinking of is jascoautomotive.com the car you're thinking of is this, which isn't a 12a turbs but a ported NA motor. mmmm rs5's!! thats what my rx4 will be wearing in about 2 weeks!:( the conversion would be much the same as that of putting a rotary engine in one of the "sister cars", ie, 808/929/capella/121 etc. the engine mounts for most rotaries are off the front of the engine rather than the sides like piston motors (13b turbo motors are the exception to this rule, as they have side engine mounts) You can see the front mount in that last pic. this is done usually by using an rx4 cross member that bolts into the front sway bar mounts on the mazdas as the cars listed above also came out with rotaries being an "RX". you would also then need a gearbox suitable for the rotor, ie, an rx7 series 1,2,3 box would be fine, and then modify a GB cross memeber to suit the rolla, and the tail shaft would need modifying. next you will need a new radiator again s1,2,3 rx7 1 would do the trick (I actually have one of these, with oil cooler kicking around at home!! :D ) and all rotors need oil coolers aswell. that would be all the hardest stuff, then you would just have to modify some wiring and the fuel system to suit. you could pick up a standard 12a with carby, dizzy, alt, water pump etc (basically everything) for around $500 - $1000 depending on condition and the retention of the owner arse hole!!
  5. Oh damn was that the sunday just gone!? :D that'd be why I saw SI rego ke20 drive past about lunch time as we were unloading the burnt out seven! I waved!! :y:
  6. don't suppose you got any pics of my current engine setup??
  7. or it could just be as simple as blocked jets! :)
  8. you mean the 10mm that hold the torque converter to the flex plate?? did this the other day and was thinging how the hell to you get a spanner on that well enough to get them out......then realised on the bottom of the backing plate there is a little cover that pops out so you can use a ratchet. did you not find this cover??
  9. sure is, we stripped EVERYTHING that was still any good on saturday night and put it there to be collected by a truck. do you like the sign!? :)
  10. thats what i was on about, tas_corolla is doing manual to auto and your doing auto to maunal, both in ke20's, get in contact with him.
  11. would probably cost all of $10 through aus-post. was just letting you know that he had 1 available. :)
  12. PM tas_corolla, I just sold him an auto box to do a manual to auto conversion, so he'll have a clutch pedal for sale probably. :)
  13. :) umm, a 48 IDA is a downdraught carby. you can get a 48mm DCOE which is a side draught, so I'm assuming this is what you have. to answer your question, NO the carby is not too big, but no doubt the JETS/CHOKES inside it would be. get on ebay and do a search for "weber" only and you'll get about 5 pages of stuff. amongst it you will find suitablt sized jets for around $7 each. :)
  14. http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/forums/vi...ic.php?t=101759 please read what I have posted there. :D
  15. I'm going down for a look. Take the rotor :D I wanna look at that! Your dad had an rx7 sports sadan doesn't he? I make sure to come over and say hello. :)
  16. that was the first place I posted. :D I'm REgular there.
  17. Stolen from outside a mates house in invermay tonight (thuirsday 18/5) about 7:30 was a marone series 1 rx7 with full daytona kit and performance challengers. if anybody has any information or has seen the car, can you please ring or msg 0417 121 539 immediatly..............
  18. I haven't, but a mate on here, think his username is 1ggtelola or something did, had 40mm IIRC spacers with +38/+42 wheels, he put longer wheel stud in it obviously. his mum was driving the car one day and he had to go pick here up cause "it was making funny noises" and he discover it snapped a couple of the longer studs!! :D
  19. don't bother buying a gasket for it. make one out of a cornflakes box, or any other cereal etc box you may have laying around at home!!! they work really well, and mine hasn't dropped a drip of oil. only thing you need to remember is just give the shiny printed side a bit of sand to roughen it up a bit and you're all good to go. plus I reckon you could buy about 3 boxes of cornflakes for what toyota would charge you for the genuine gasket. have you got a nerw backing plate yet?? I have 1.
  20. Heres a question. straight 4 cylinder engines running on 3 pots sound like a subaru boxer. what does a boxer sound like running on 3 pots!?? :D :)
  21. :D perfect for my torque monster!
  22. oh, most wheels these days have a "J" offset on them you want double j's (JJ)
  23. :D umm.....maybe just take 1 out and have a look at the code printed on the side of the plug! :)
  24. still says camtech 609.
  25. cool. you happy if i get it in a couple off weeks? just got a couple of cars that are out of rego at the mo. btw, think you need to change your sig now! :D
