Also who did the reco, my old bluebird had a stretched timing chain so the valves were opening and closing at a different time that the crank was turning, i ended up telling everyone that i had a boxer engine in it and they believed me. EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention, Maybe the timing is out a tooth.

The point of it being a family car is that i want it safe and I'm not intending to bling it up, the car holds a very sentimental value to me as it was my dads best friends car and i brought it off her cause her and her husband split and she couldnt drive because of epilepsy and then she died a few months after, as for painting it it has been hit in the L/H/R so when i get that fixed up it will never be a perfect colour match so i want to get the whole car done and i want something different and its only going to cost about $200 for a full respray.

I got my 1st rolla when i was 11, It was a 77 (i think) panelvan, i don't really know much about it as i sold it when i was still young but i did all the interior black with grey inserts, i had newly covered black vinyl seats and i got a rear centre console from a UC torana and and made that my handbrake surround, for my 1st stereo i stuck 2 8" subs (oh yeah pumpin, pfff) behind the seats in these factory 8 inch holes (have no idea why it had them and the werent cut as they were lipped), i then acuired a corolla coupe (can't remember waht model) for parts and so on but then i made a mistake and moved to a commodore, But now i have had my seca for 2 years and 2 months and i don't intend to sell it and i have had another 2 secas in that period but have only have the one other which is a twinky.

when you save them open them up in paint and resave them as a jpeg, i normally open them up in paint shop pro and resize them. P.S. Some files wont open in paint shop if they arent a true jpeg thats why i use paint to do it 1st.

What did you have them open in when you saved them.

Yeah i was thinking black but this is my family car and black holds in the heat so it was out of the question but it would look hot.

Thomo has got a point (my dads vn did it all the time until he changed the crank abgle sensor) but unless the crank angle sensor was shorting out you still havnt fixed your problem. The crank angle sensor will shut the car off but all lights and so on will and do work, here is a hint for you go and start up a vn, vp or wateva u want and pull on the wire connected to the crank angle sensor so that it comes away from the contact point and tell me how many lights go out.
