  4. Yes, definately a BIG THANK YOU AND WELL DONE to Teddy for organising all of this :insane:
  5. You don't even need a learners to join the club, or get a CAMS licence, or take part in some events :insane:
  6. It's too low at the moment, and keeps bottoming out on everything... Am probably also going to get an extra leaf in to make it a bit stiffer...
  7. I've got a set of 16" Advanti Racing rims that I wouldn't mind selling, but they are 4x114.3...
  8. I know, you should do what I'm doing - I'm getting my car raised about 2 inches :insane:
  9. Heh, no... I borrowed Rob's slide hammer awhile ago to get the axles out of my diff. Have since finished with it (for now), but have not returned it, because I am slack. Slide hammers are like hammers, except you use them to pull things out (as opposed to push things in like hammers do). So yes, you *could* use a slide hammer to pull your front guards out for more clearance, but the end result most definately wouldn't be very pretty.
  10. Hmm, should return slide hammer. Then again, using slide hammer to roll guards probably isn't the best idea... Would definately get more clearance, but no... :insane: Should still return slide hammer, and magazine! I am so slack :jason:
  11. Yay, for the 3rd year running, HSCCQ won :insane: 1. HSCC 62 points 2. BSCC 58 3. IWMAC 40 4. WRXC 39 5. MGCC 20 6. GCTMSC 13 7. Marque 9
  12. Umm... You haven't seen my front yard have you? Maybe an autocross track for a 1/100 scale remote control car...
  13. Just re-read what I typed, and hmm, wow. If you need further explanation let me know and I'll try to explain that again. If you're lucky I might even be able to use pictures :insane:
  14. Shamry: Like Ben said, it depends on what is actually hitting. Usually the problem is the rim is offset too far to the outside (or too wide), and as a result the outside edge of the tyre rubs against the inside edge of the guard. My Lancer GSR used to do that to the back tyres. If it is only rubbing a little, you might be able to get away with just bending the inside face of the wheel arch upwards to make it flush against the outside face. That way, it still looks the same from outside, and you don't risk cracking the paint (except on the actual edge of the arch, which isn't really visible anyway. Make sure you repaint the crack though to stop rust). If it's rubbing fairly badly, then you'll probably have to properly roll the guards outwards, that will give you more clearance between the tyre and guard. One other thing you could try is maybe get a wheel alignment. However, I doubt this would fix your problem unless there are problems with your alignment, or if you have adjustable camber (either via pins or tops) Raising your car won't achieve all that much. It will lessen the frequency of your tyre hitting your guard, but when your springs compress (big bump, big people in car, etc) it will still hit. Best to fix the actual clearance issues.
  15. Wheel offset could also be a problem. I'd say the easiest solution would be to see where it's scrubbing, and then rolling the guards to suit.
  16. But stuff doesn't grow on this strange alien mud! What was left of the little grass I had on my front yard is now burried under soggy slippery clay-like bog... :insane:
  17. Haha :insane:
  18. Umm... No. Gary Bradshaw. But for most things (membership included) contact Keith Butcher, he's the treasurer/secretary. If you look around the webpage his email address is somewhere there :insane:
  19. Still have little chunks of mud here and there, even the high pressure hose couldn't get all of it off. And yes, have lost a bit of paint here there and everywhere! Hmm, maybe 2pac would have been better... :insane:
  20. You can? Wow, I paid too much...
  21. Yes. In fact I believe there is a general meeting... On Wednesday? CAMS office, I think it's 7.30. I'm not sure if I'll be there or not, I might.
  22. That rain session absolutely sucked (IMHO anyway). I really liked the last session though :insane:
  23. WOW, WHAT IS THAT STUFF MADE OF??? I must have unloaded 300kg of clay on my driveway, garden and road, and there's still more to go! Not to mention it's harder than stone, and makes BIG stone chips! End of year project for fook, respray most of bottom half of car...
  24. Gee whiz, you don't waste any time do you!
  25. Umm, don't remember about the 2 spots for 2 clubs, but you only need to be a member of 1. Now to answers: 1) Whichever you want, it's really up to you. I'm a member of HSCCQ, Rob and Mel are members of BSCC. I believe Teddy and Nick are members of HSCCQ too. Usually it depends on what sort of motorsport you're interested in, as different clubs specialise in different things. HSCCQ concentrate mostly on motorkhanas and khanacrosses, while BSCC concentrate mostly on rallies (both dirt and tarmac). There are other clubs too, that do different things (like IWMAC concentrate on autocrosses, and the MG Car Club concentrate on hillclimbs). That said, most car clubs run multiclub events where anyone from any clubc can join, sometimes it's more expensive for non-club members. Also, membership fees vary from club to club, HSCCQ appears to be the cheapest. Most clubs will be able to accept your money and forward the forms to CAMS, or you can post it to the CAMS office in Milton, or go there personally. 2) No 3) You can either turn up at an event, most clubs will be happy to take your money and forward the forms to CAMS, or you can post it in, or you can turn up at the CAMS office in person. Again, up to you.
