Dogs befriend you, cats own you.

Pull style is popular in WRC, and one of the rally Commodores at Mt Cotton today had one, seemed to work quite well. Pity I didn't get to drive it (well, after all he knew quite well what he was doing :D) but I did get to drive a very fun R33, and got some pretty fun rides in STi's, MX5's and others too  Yay tomorrow out with the Skyline Club, more rides in Skylines and maybe get to drive more of them too! The STi really put a new meaning in my head to "back it in and stand on it", I swear we were driving backwards half the time  Craig: If I was being sponsored by someone who made nice things I'd be getting one made up too. Turns out I'm not, and my fabrication skills are second to none as far as suckyness goes. Not to mention my welder is still broken. I did consider asking Craig from Extreme if he could make me one, but I don't think he'd match or beat the price by much. Keith makes nice things. I think I may pursue this option, I just need to make sure I actually have enough money to do it first (and I think I should have a better idea after Thursday) Also reconfirmed with Keith about legality too, all good :)

How is it that both me and Datgirl are 2nd in class? Weren't we in the same class? Or did they nudge me into C class because my car was too long (it was right on the limit of B/C class)? 10th O/R, that's pretty alright considering I recon I had a pretty crappy day... Thanks for the results!

That's pretty good, looks like it's got a decent macro on it. Nice colors too. Personally I wouldn't bother using the digital zoom, as cropping in photoshop is just as good and it gives you the option of composing your photo a bit better. Keep it up!

Very nice!!! Some pretty nice gear in there...

Rob: Spoke to Keith today (he was at the skidpan, Kate's daugher Erin was having a bit of a lesson :D), turns out he also sells hydraulic handbrake levers identical to the one he has in his Escort, for the same price as Seemore. Looks better than the one that Seemore has, and won't have to pay postage, and it's always nice getting things from familiar faces  Might be an option.

I don't like cats. Probably doesn't help that I'm allergic to them... I'm a dog person, dogs rock :D

It seems to change depending on who you speak to... Keith for one told me that it would be legal, and my engineer thinks so too - as long as the cable operated handbrake is completely independant (thus providing a "fallback system") Or something to that effect anyway... One thing I am a little concerned about with the Pro handbrake is the brake lines sticking into the footwell (you can't put bends that close to the tube nuts, as I discovered when making my clutch lines). I had a brief look yesterday and I don't really like the idea of the brake lines running along the side of the footwell, as it is my leg sometimes rubs against the center console (which won't be there for much longer, new gearbox doesn't really allow for it)

Club handbrake Pro handbrake

For anyone seeking the tube nuts (P6118), I have sourced 6 of them from Perth, I believe Craig has put his name down for one so I have 4 spare... I had no luck finding these in QLD, even BHSS didn't have and couldn't get any...

Oh yes, they will also be offering the Pro handbrake with standard or long levers, and even yellow handles for the WRC look soon :D

Have spoken to Ian from Seemore, he seems nice enough :D For anyone interested, the spare wheel mount is basically a threaded steel rod with a base plate welded on the bottom (to bolt to the boot floor etc), and a locking plate to lock the wheel down, with the option of a wheel brace to suit. You have to let them know how many wheels you want to hold (1 or 2) and the size of your wheels so that they can cut the rod to suit. For the 2" SAAS harnesses, they are AS2598 approved (ADR), so have no specific lifespan, and can be used indefinitely as long as they stay in good condition (not faded/frayed etc). They come with eyebolts. Ian greatly recommends the Pro handbrake (which BTW is a pull type, not push type as I expected), he recons it is much easier to operate. I'll have to talk to engineer to see whether he can mod plate this, as the last time I spoke to him he was a bit weary about it. That said, the "club" handbrake is a bit cheaper... He's sent me some photos, I'll maybe post them up when I get home (they are a bit big for me to d/l here at work).

Woodenbong - on the way to NSW. Somewhere near Urbanville, and other places like that. And I believe you get to drive through Mt Lindsey on the way there too (ooooh fun fun fun fun fun)

Where are these results??? I want to see too!!! WOO HOO FOR MR :D!!! ... a true legend  BTW, I think next motorkhana is QMS5 at Woodenbong, 29th August. I won't be there, I'll be overseas

Craig: I think KMart (or is it BigW?) actually sell a 1kg "CAMS approved" fire extinguisher for not much, and I think it's by Chubb... *edit* http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...hl=extinguisher

I'm sorta half thinking of one too... Maybe we can get 2 and save on shipping :D I'll start counting the pennies now, if you decide to order one let me know... *edit* hey look they also have ADR approved harnesses... *edit again* and wow they have soooo many other things...
-
Oh wow, that IS rather reasonably priced! Hmm... :D

Hahahahaahaaaaa... I thought the name sounded familiar... DAVE IS A HERO!

pro_ke: Haha, yes I know of that site, and also http://www.houmam.com/gallery/, and also many others! Yay, now I not only have pictures and audio, I also have VIDEO!!! WOO HOO! heheheheheheheheheheeee...

I am so getting tempted to get rid of the standard handbrake lever and just make a new one from scratch... and then I remember what my welding skills are like and then I decide to stick with the standard thing again... :D

Oh gawd someone help me, I'm soooooooo addicted to this girl! ... soooooo sadcase ....
-
... in all seriousness though, there're so many different possibilities, just depends what you want at the end of the day, and how much money you're willing to throw at it.
-
Oh wow. That is pretty. Looks quite simple too... I like the idea of putting the MC at an angle to get a cleaner stroke... Plus I've heard of good things with having the brake lines pointing to the side.
-
Bah, you're all boring. I recon someone should drop a 2JZGTE in a KE55 or something... Or actually stuff that, what do those Landcruisers run? ... eeeeeeveryone asking about what engine to put in their rollaaaaaaaaaa ...

For a long time I had the jellybeans on Pinky (that used the "mag nuts with shaft and washer"), and I had a normal Corona XT130 mag as a spare (that used a different Toyota semi-tapered nut thing). Only a few months later did I realise this, so if I'd gotten a flat then, I wouldn't have had any nuts to bolt the spare wheel on!
