  2. "SKIDZ" Can even have a double meaning :)
  3. Jamie: 1st quote for you, 3mm black, 2x1m, $42.25+GST. But only availble in Sydney at the moment (Brisbane store has no stock, will cost up to $30 for freight unless they're shipping something else at the same time). This is from CutToSize. I'll call a few other places later today or tomorrow.
  4. What if it's "drift"? *gasp*!
  5. Funnily enough I think my nephew's first word was "duck" too. Like father like son?
  6. Superlights are nice wheels :)
  7. No one really remembers anything about when I was a kid. When I first started walking, when I first started talking, when I first started reading... I just... became me. Somehow. :)
  8. My brother's first word was "duck". No one remembers what my first words were, but then again I probably never said anything until I was about 5 or something and went to pre-school and was forced to say stuff...
  9. HOLY SHIT, how on earth did you get them that shiny???
  10. I've got 4-2-1, I'm happy so far.
  11. Just get new tie rod ends. Rubber boots usually press on. Some have a circlip that hold them on, some actually press on. Depends what brand you buy.
  12. Material has been discovered. It is HDPE. High Density Polyethelene or something like that. Basically, cutting board. Really big cutting board. Paul P used this to plate the bottom of his rally ute that won class in ARC too. Ran it for years, he said there were big gouges in it but nothing ever went through. He thinks he was using 4.5mm, but they come anywhere from 3mm to 50mm thick. Cheap stuff too, generally about $50 for a 2x1m sheet, the cheapest quote I got was like $90 for an 8x4m sheet, most expensive quote I got was $112 for a 2x1m sheet, that's for 6mm stuff. If I feel hardworking and motivated enough and end up doing this, I'll probably use 4.5mm stuff too. It's light, it's reasonably flexible, but tough enough to deflect rocks etc (of course if you come landing hard on it you'll be in trouble, for stuff like that use a proper sump guard like what Rob has...), it's cheap, flame retardant (it basically melts, doesn't really burn at all), perfect stuff.
  13. Because you can't use power to get or keep you sideways. David: Yes I think you are right. LSD #1 is pretty much any of the basic sorts of LSD (clutch, etc), #2 is a Torsen.
  14. I think you got your inside and outside the wrong way around. Probably should add that open diffs are kinda hard to drift. Much easier with a locker or LSD. AWD drifting rocks.
  15. Streeter also said said he'd do a lot of stuff for me. It never happened :D
  16. But it's a flat sheet. It's easier to buy a flat sheet of plastic or metal than it is to lay a flat sheet of fibreglass :D
  17. The Altezza LSD is awesome. Go the Torsen all day every day!
  18. I like perspex, it's easy to work with. Part of my dash is made of perspex (but covered in vinyl to blend in with the rest).
  19. The locker was fun to drive around sideways and stuff, but it was such a PITA all the rest of the time that it null-and-voided all the fun factor. Not to mention I found it made the car harder to drive quickly, because I had to commit fully and chuck the car into corners and then hang it out all the time. But yes, LSD's are expensive. Still, I wouldn't recommend anyone a locker.
  20. That sounds kinda correct.
  21. Hmm... I doubt it was acrylic. I'll give Paul a call sometime and let you know what it was :D
  22. Hmm, maybe Paul didn't use perspex, I'm almost certain the stuff he used was a fair bit cheaper than that. And he said the cheapest color was white, followed by black. Maybe I should just call him and ask him :D Aluminium would probably work too, just a little harder to work with and a bit heavier. And more expensive. But yes, tougher.
  23. He tough you.
  24. Umm, I need to know where I can get it from, and how much it should cost me. It's actually for an undertray for my car. Partly for airflow, partly to help stiffen up my front spoiler as it currently flexes a lot and also tends to break a lot (the glass fibres break easily). And also partly to stop mud and shit going up into my engine bay and all over my air filter. I know it won't stop damage if I bottom out the car, but I don't exactly rally my car so I don't expect to be doing that anytime soon, and I don't think I can afford one of those big metal things that rally cars like Rob's have. Paul P made one for his Supra ages ago and recons it helped cooling and stuff a fair bit, so I was thinking of trying the same thing.
  25. Where can I get some of this? I need a sheet about as long as a Corolla is wide, and maybe a meter or a little less wide. So what's that... about 2x1m? Something reasonably stiff, maybe 3-5mm thick or something. Nick: You work in a hardware store, do you stock this sort of thing? Kinda like MDF sheeting, except not made of MDF :D I know Paul P used some on his Supra ages ago, but I can't find the post that said what he used.
