  1. Probably best to put an ad up in the For Sale section, not in this thread :)
  2. I think most conversions of this sort will require some sort of machining or other. I've got Bluebird TRX discs on the back of my car, and they aren't really ideal for 2 reasons - alloy caliper bracket, and internal drum handbrake.
  3. It would be just like putting R31 brakes on, except the brakes would probably be cheaper, and they're bigger.
  4. Hahaha, it bit me on the wrist actually. Still have the scar to show for it too :) Headbutting horses, cool :D At least it wasn't a rhino :D
  5. Umm... No, I'm not talking about swapping the entire Falcon diff. I'm talking about putting Falcon brakes on some other diff like a Celica diff or T18 diff or something. And using the original axles, thereby giving you the original 4 stud...
  6. Here is someone putting them on a Jeep
  7. An idea... Someone should try putting Falcon rear discs on. I had a brief look at the brackets, and without measuring everything, it looks like it wouldn't be hard to get to bolt up. The problems I can see are that the bracket may be too thick, and that the discs are 5 stud, so you'd have to get them redrilled to 4 stud. But the calipers are nice and beefy, cheap as chips, and the discs are BIG and VENTILATED.
  8. LOL, you wish :D I lub the Corolla berry muchly, so much so that I only ever take it out on some weekends :)
  9. I got bitten by a terrapin once too, took a fair bit of flesh off. It's kinda freaky getting bitten by this turtle-like thing and then watching it chew your flesh and swallow it, and you're thinking "oi, that's part of me you're eating there!!!" Then again, I've also been bitten by a parrot, several dogs, an iguana, and lots of other things! Maybe animals don't like me either...
  10. I could advertise my Corolla like that, and I wouldn't be lying either! It even has low k's :D But no, Corolla is not for sale :)
  11. I got bitten by a horse once.
  12. Ah whoops, I meant "overly lean mixture" :D Umm, idle speed screw I've just set to get the car to sort of sound normal when it idles (I have no idea what RPM it is at, no tacho). What do you mean by "just touching the linkage"? The linkage rests on the idle screw, and when I turn it clockwise the idle rises, anticlockwise the idle drops. Idle mixture screw, quite a few. Maybe I should try turning it back a bit to make it a bit richer and see what happens. The car has only been driven 2 or 3 times since the new carby went on, it doesn't run on too badly. Not as badly as it used to with the Aisan carby anyway (but that stopped doing that after awhile). Spark plugs were replaced about 2 or 3 months ago, not sure what condition they are now. Heatrange, not sure, they are the stock plugs. As you can tell, I know nothing about engines :)
  13. Could be a vacuum leak I suppose, although I've got new gaskets through the whole carb. Didn't use any gasket goo though, I ran out. Valves sound ok, they sound better than Pinky ever sounded. But could check them to see if they're actually adjusted right. I think ignition is set at +10 or +12 or something, I forget. How do you richen just the idle? Turning the mixture screw seems to change the mixture on throttle, but the idle doesn't actually seem to change (up or down). So... an overly rich mixture can cause it to run on?
  14. Nick: No, no fuel solenoid. In fact, this carby has virtually nothing on it. It has 1 input (fuel), throttle cable and choke. And that's it. :)
  15. No, the Excel is long gone (thank god!). Engine wise, apart from the exhaust and a pod filter it was stock as a rock. Oh, and it had a monster tacho, AWESOME PERFORMANCE MOD :) I sold it to some guy, and the day he brought it home his girlfriend drove it through the garage wall...
  16. A few hours of mucking around, and... :) Now I just need to do something about the vent in the tappet cover... The car runs SO MUCH BETTER now, starts easier and everything too. Only problem is it runs on a bit after you turn it off, not entirely sure why. Probably fuel mixtures all wrong.
  17. Strange but true. The IS200 isn't actually that fast. It was about as fast as my GSR. It'll pull away after about 100km/h or something, but up until then the GSR would keep up no problems. Same with the Excel. It would pull away from the IS200 until it got to maybe about close to 100km/h before the IS200 would start to catch up again. Obviously this is straight line speed, the Excel couldn't handle to save it's life. Fun to drive though :(
  18. And, to add to that, my Excel was also the most "sik" car I've owned. From the mags, black tinted windows, big chrome exhaust tip, "sports" exhaust, Kings lowered springs, Munroe gas shocks (and of course I had the shopping list down the side of the car to illustrate this fact), to the "detailed" grille, "blue" headlights, big stereo (including subwoofer that used to make the rear hatch glass vibrate), it was SIIIIIK :( It was so stiff that when I drove over driveways it used to pick up wheels, FULLIIIII SIIK!!! :D And, hahaha. It was also faster than my then-girlfriend's IS200 :lolcry:
  19. Lotus Esprit was also in James Bond, it's SUCH A COOL CAR. There is one in Hawthorne, I've driven past it a few times and everytime I do I kinda stare and go "wow, that's so cool... that's SO LOW!!!" Funnily enough, my Excel is the fastest car I've ever owned. It's faster than even my Corolla! And my Lancer GSR... SO WRONG.
  20. Yes the dizzy usually sits on the back. So to put it into a RWD car you move it to the front :( Chin did this in his 20V KE70 too.
  21. Wow. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you!!!
  22. Corona seats are the same, they almost bolt onto Corolla rails, just need to drill one new hole in the rail and it all bolts in...
  23. It is so wrong. But it looks so darn bizzare :(
  24. Well no, you don't want that. But that's just the way it is, the shifter comes out further back than on the T50!
  25. Click here So so cool. Like, so utterly uberly cool :(
