  1. I used to get about 400ish k's from a tank in my stock KE55...
  2. No, no rally tyres unfortunately (or fortunately). Road tyres only.
  3. Mmm, yes that KE70 is sooooo much fun :D *me has memories of grinning from ear to ear as I pry myself out of the seat...*
  4. Entries due today I believe. I put mine in yesterday, I hope it gets there in time...
  5. Yea unfortunately Mt Cotton is a "Driver Training" center, meant for "defensive driving", so it isn't really meant to cater for "hoons" going out in their hotted up cars and revving constantly at 8000RPM as they go round and round the pan in a very doriftor fashion... As much fun as that is. And just like Lakeside, our favourite residents who decided to purchase property near the center have decided they don't really like the sound of constantly revving exhausts, so they come around and complaint, which is a real PITA. Sad but true. Mumblezz: Try driving the skidpan in 3rd. That's what I do in Hal, and once you get used to it I'd say it's almost as good as 2nd, and a hell of a lot quieter. A little harder, as there isn't as much response, but if you can keep the speed up, no worries. Not that I'm really used to anything, as I've only driven Hal on the pan for a total of maybe 15 minutes in total... I think Haikal wanted to do this, now. I wouldn't mind, if there's an extra spot. But if not, no worries...
  6. ancullen: Sorry, no internet at home means not much reading of forum for me these days. Yes, that would be me (that brake setup). Yes I've spent a fair bit of money on the car (not all on the front brakes!!!), but you can have a similar brake setup for cheaper. I got a lot of new bits, so had to pay the cash for it. Plus, I've got a few "extras" like adjustable Koni shocks, T3 roll center adjusters, Kmac adj strut tops, adj height coilovers, shorter AE86 powersteering steering knuckles etc etc. Basically, XT130 or RT132 struts (Corona). Pug604(?) discs, you'll have to slot the holes slightly to fit, about 1mm I think). Then use either Hilux or Landcruiser calipers, I forget the model. They'll bolt on. You'll need to either shave the discs slightly, or shave the insides of the calipers, because the discs are actually slightly too big. You'll also need the steering knuckles off the XT130/RT132. If you're running with standard springs, then you'll need to get a set of AE86 springs (lowered, Kings part number I think KTFL33). That will set the car at stock height, so if you want lower you'll need a set of even lower ones. You'll need to get the top spring hat from an AE86 too. Then just use your KE35/55 strut tops. You'll find that you'll have a bit of positive camber with this setup, due to different kingpin angle. You can fix this by either getting adj strut tops, or using longer LCA's. Longer LCA's you can find in Mitsubishi Scorpions/Sigmas. They are 2 different sorts, both will need a custom bush to get it to bolt on, apart from that, no worries. I had a strange problem of the discs fouling the LCA, I think if you got the later model Sigma/Scorpion LCA's (2 piece), they should clear. I've got the earlier model 1 piece ones. Alternatively, you can do the S13 conversion. I've seen it done on a Datsun1200, and on a TA22, and apparently it's a simple conversion.
  7. Nick: you sure on the learners licence thing? Haikal: Drive the wagon instead of Hal? nevah! :D
  8. Cool, ta for that. So I'm guessing a 12v heater would be required for demister work.
  9. Ah righty-o. Didn't even know there were clips :D I think the one in the car at the moment is one of those suspended ones.
  10. Does anyone know anything about this? Cost, description, features etc? I remember waaay back a long time ago in Malaysia my uncle's Datsun 120Y had a little box under the dash for aircond, it had a fan and everything built in, very neat and just had 2 switches and a knob on it. Worked reasonably well too, I'm not sure how much plumbing etc it had. Also, do they have a heater function too? Or do they only work as an aircond?
  11. Ah. So you can't buy like pre-made ones (like carpets)?
  12. You'd need to get your licence first, before you can go on the pan though. So best to pull that thumb out! :D Maybe I can go as an instructor :D Naah, I wanna drive tooooooo!
  13. On a sort of related topic (didn't know if I should start a new thread or pin it on the end of this like I'm doing now) anyone know where to get roof linings? Or hood linings, whatever they're called, the thing that goes in the roof of the car :D
  14. I'll have to see how finances go (at the moment it's all a bit of a whirlpool). I'm sure Haikal would like to go.
  15. Oh wow, disappear for a few days and look what I missed...
  16. KE55 also weighs more, due to more side impact intrusion bars.
  17. Wow that looks like so much fun =) Look at all those braided lines... *droooooool* I want :lovin: I should move my fuse box out like they've done too... Rob has a magazine with a Ford Ka with similar treatment, pumped guards (as if the Ka needed pumped guards...), I believe it was a Cossie engine, Evo drivetrain (so 4wd turbo), it looked like more fun than a barrel of monkeys ;)
  18. Same principles, same technique. Like I said, one fluid motion. You're doing the forward bits more or less fine now (just need polishing), just need to apply exactly the same technique going backwards. At the moment you're still doing the "look backwards, release handbrake, rev up, pause, pause, pause, release clutch" thing. It'll come with practice.
  19. But Burnout is so much fun for being "drift king" =) Not to mention the Take Down's ;)
  20. Someone needs to learn to release the handbrake only once the clutch starts biting in...
  21. Same here. One day I've got money, next day I'm $160K in debt. WTF???
  22. Haha, no, last night I was out, remember?
  23. Amen. And you came like *this* close to wrecking your nice Hella spotties too, BAD BOY! I think we should learn you how to drive before we fix up the car hey? But yes, what a car, windows down, seat back, feet on the window sill, rock on :P Haha, llama llama duck!
  24. I play LFS1 last night, so uber fun. I can't wait for LFS2 :P
  25. Damn it. I must get entry in. I must get car scrutineered. Where do the days go???
