Ambers got speedway this saturday. And we've got a bbq to go to this sunday. So maybe next weekend ?

An ashtray between the seats ?! I guess proton just got lazy in deleting the ashtray when they lifted the console from the sedan. Makes it easier to put in the pocket and just like the other removable faces its security coded. Sorry people but this thing would run rings around my old '30 and it had upgraded suspension.

Nope, but i'll bet a dash of rain that somewhere in the rides section there'll be at least three threads with photos of how it looks.

No they won't fit, Unless, Shazz also means the ae86 struts Then they will fit.

 And its not something that you get over in a few days or months or years. Drugs can help a little. Like little blue and off yellow pills called Cymbalta 60mg each and every day.

Had a muck around this arvo in mounting a spot light above the cab that could be used as a work light. The thing thats circled is a 16 pin auxilliary outlet for a centre mount brake light if a canopy is fitted or a 12v power point for a fridge etc or in this case it can be for a work light. Was more thinking of a title "Mum wants a 2009 Navara st-x d40 dualcab 4wd 6 speed manual 2.5Lt diesel, with 3 inch lift, front air locker, winch, rock sliders, a few other extras and about an extra 30-40 grand in the bank to afford it" But the titles too long. The last time mum drove a ute would have been about 40 years back - a hilux. She hasn't driven a vehicle for about 2-3 months - not including the 50series land cruiser, which she only had the chance to drive once before moving back up here. She wanted a ute, but the one she'd like is about 20-30 grand out of her price range (she has reasons for a vehicle less then 5 years of age). And this was the best idea of getting her use to driving a utility. And close to practical for what she wants and needs.

Bloody hell i'm getting carried away here

:hmm: I wonder what mum would think 6g13 twin turbo sitting in a lancer/mirage http://www.mirageforums.net/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=28579&sid=eb9cd2c145987b56c8ef8bfb068bc7a1#p365120 Don't know if the link will work. I had to sign up.

Mitsubishi 4g15 motor From what i've been finding out, from the A pillars forwards is Satria. And the doors are the same as the CC or CE 4 door lancer. Which leads into a possibility of "factory" power windows and "factory" power mirrors. Which leads into something i think is interesting, if this thing is based on the Satria/CC Lancer then it'll mean the 6g12 MIVEC from the FTO would be drop in fit with no mods. The FTO runs the same chassis as the CC Lancer. Popped into Opposite Lock today after mum transferred the rego over and ordered in a nudge bar (about $520), pick it up on friday next week, fingers crossed it'll be earlier. And since WOW sight and sound have gone into receivership we went in there to price a reversing camera. The cheapest was 3.5" with a camera that had to have a hole drilled into the body work - $199. And with a "stuff that" we walked out. So we'll get one off ebay. So far the only thing i can say is that the B pillar behind the drivers head sucks. Go to look over the right shoulder to check the blind spot and all you see is a bloody B pillar.

I just sit down and be done with it :laff:

Just told mum that one. "Ok what is a 1uz conversion ?" "Its a 4.2Lt v8 and the ute would be converted to rwd." "Phuck that !"

Picked up mums new ride today Just over 36 thousand on the clock for a vehicle from 2008 Think it was pretty good, one other that we looked at had about 92 thousand for the same price of 9 grand but only had a tonneau cover. Yep 1.5Litres of raw power. A few times i forget it was in 3rd, just above idle as i pulled away from the lights and i didn't even ride the clutch in doing it. Gear changes are beautiful, not overly firm but just a shnick with each gear shift. Very nice i thought, reminded me of my old ae82 seca. But no real big plans on the little truck Alloy tool box in the tray Nudge bar with a pair of spot lights Fog lights A pair of work lights above the tray Cruise control

Over a month and no up dates ? Or have you gone looking for some bush lol

The only thing you might have to change is the flywheel - 5K flywheel is the same diameter, but the clutch surface is a bigger diameter (different clutch) and its heavier by about 1-2 kilos I used the 4k flywheel and a 4k clutch kit. If your doing the ke70 g'box, i'll need the ke70 gearbox mount (cause its different to the other ke's) and you'll need to drill two holes and possibly widen the middle hole in the ke38 cross-member to fit the mount. If the car in question was an auto - The two speed auto (A20) - you will not have to change or modify the gearbox mount. Mounting holes (bolts) are in the correct position. The three speed auto (trimatic) - you will need to modify the g'box mount. An easy route to go would be to use the autos x-member and sit it next to the one for the manual and weld them together. The output flange on the auto is different so you'll have to chase up either another propshaft or swap the flange. As i said above - the tailshaft will fit, unless its from the trimatic. The only problems you'll come across is the diff - there's two different types. Banjo (aka Jap) - the input flange is small, and it has a removable cover on the back. Borg Warner (aka BW) - the input flange is big, and the only way to get to the pumpkin is from the front of the diff. And this is the about the only time (apart from the trimatic) you'll have troubles. Or, like me, the ke70's shifter is in the correct spot, but yeah with the car being manual you'll have to cut a section out of the trans-tunnel for the shifter to fit. And then either go without a center console or hunt up one from the auto. The cable for the speedo will fit the ke70 g'box.

Something i think would be pretty damn useful around this town It'll help the typical camry driver find Darwin a bit quicker.
-
All going well i'll be taking mum to the other side of town to pick up her new car tomorrow :D Doesn't really need anything done to it but i might con her into me "doing" a few things to it.
-
As Reed said But then again i am biased to the early '30 :P

Love those those little kei cars. Owner should be smacked around the head a few times with a miata.

Don't bother with the shifter from the ae92, grab one from the ae10x http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/faq/19474-guide-cheap-ae92-quick-shift.html The Witzl also did a write-up on the old twincam.org forum which had more content. From memory it was very little mods to make it fit into the ae82 Does make me think a cable isn't long enough. Or the lever on the g'box for the side to side movement is too long. Happy birthday bud

Pop in to the local auto shop and ask for a Tridon thermostat, part number - TT240-180 and they should just have to pull it off the shelf. About $18 from Supercheap.

Daily drivers ??

I don't mind watching TT but when they start repeating programs i feel like shoving my head in the toilet cause even knowing the bowl is the same like the show (today tonight) but at least there's always something different on and in the bowl.

I like how they've put that Joe Hockey was eliminated But in a way it shows how out of touch the labor party is to the general public. If was up to the public on Gillard or Rudd, Gillard would have been eliminated.......
