  1. I wouldn't really worry about a rear swaybar. Lets see if i can remember where i put the nolathane bushes On the front - Lower control arms Radius/Strut/castor arm (whichever you feel like calling it at the time) Swaybar Bottom half of the swaybar link - where the link connects to the lower control arm. On the back - Top and bottom parts of the shacklesAfter that i'd just use normal rubber bushes. Need to keep some flexibility in the suspension, otherwise it'll just be too harsh. King Springs Vs Pedders I bet ya if you went to King Springs they'll say their springs are better then the Pedders brand cause.......
  2. Thats cool. I was in the garage earlier cutting and banging some wood together for the chook coop out the back and had to close up the garage cause of the bloody rain was, for the first time, finding its way inside.
  3. Agree, at times i feel like unplugging the phones after 6pm and replug them at 5:30pm
  4. Amber just told me that her dad has a set of compressors. Just have to find them.
  5. but thats something i do have a nice dry garage, air tools, chassis stands and a decent sized jack :)
  6. Was about to say that i've got a pair of spring compressors here if you don't have a set. But then i remembered that an ex-mate rooted them >|
  7. Not much help but still. Helping mum look for a car myself at the moment. But she has a 10 grand max, it has to be less then 8 years old, a 4 cylinder and must be able to tow a trailer. Makes it hard. Ones we've come across so far has been a 2006 nissan tiida st - even the base model has a 6 speed manual. $7000 drive away (but it sold before we had chance) 2005 toyota yaris yrs - $9000 drive away 2006 toyota ascent - $11990 drive away 2006 holden viva equipe- $7500 drive away (for the price this one was damn awesome) 2005 proton jumbuck gli - $6990 drive away 2007 proton jumbuck glsi - $9000 private Their all manual. So far mums picking either the viva (but no tow bar, tinted windows) or the '07 proton (tow bar, tray liner, tonneau cover, tinted windows). I know its not much help, being out of your price range. But from what i've been seeing is that anything with a toyota badge is over priced for what it is. And for gods sake don't touch a late model camry (wide body onwards). They might be a good car but the typical camry driver wouldn't even know how to shot themselves with a semi auto pistol, thats just how dumb 2/3's of them are.
  8. Make sure you wire in a relay between the pump and battery and use the ignition to switch the relay on and off. That way if something happens to the ignition and it stops sparking, the pump will stop pushing fuel into the carby.
  9. If you need one just let me know. Have two that I don't want any more.
  10. :hmm: I didn't think a landcruiser came out with a 1.6 carby motor. But all in all when i was going to work my old 4age a bit i was going to bore the cylinders out about 2mm and stroke the crank about 2mm, from memory that would have bumped the capacity up to 1.7lt Getting the cams reground for more duration and about a 1mm extra in lift. Adjustable cam gears Extractors In your case - bigger carby. Basically its all in the breathing The more air the motor can breathe in and breathe out, with in increase in fuel, is the main step in making power. Upping compression will help with a bigger fuel/air bang. But go too high and you'll start needing higher octane fuel, otherwise you'll start blowing gaskets. Another good help is http://www.google.com
  11. Flex plate ? Or are you talking about the plate that goes between the motor and the gearbox ? Thats a sandwich plate. Auto plate (2 speed auto) is thicker and there's an "inspection hole" on the bottom side of the plate. Its for un-bolting the torque convertor from the flex plate/flywheel. I think the plate for the 3 speed (trimatic) is the same as well. But i think i threw it out, so the only thing i can say for certain is of the "inspection hole", it will have that. There's no real (or shouldn't be) difference between the 3k and 4k plates - unless its the plate for an early 3k, then there'll be a difference in bolt holes.
  12. You think thats bad wait until your on your way home from work in your stock as a rock 6 cylinder XE falcon and you get pulled over by a cop who in turn gives you a defect on the non-blue plated v8 that some how only he can see..... Mate had to call a taxi cause the cop had the car towed. Yep, would have loved to been a fly on the wall during the court case.
  13. Came across a couple more "google sphere" "epic google " "google gravity" "google loco" "google gothic" "google pacman" "google loco" "google guitar "google pirate" "google raimbow" <- spelt correctly "google reverse" and make sure you click the "I'm feeling lucky" button.
  14. A colour change and a turbo diesel, nice. Just needs lpg now Interesting use of checker plate.
  15. Bloody heck there's always someone that has to come up with a simple solution
  16. Yeah from what i'm aware of it is. But you might be a bit hard pressed to find it.
  17. Have you looked at the fuse ? If its a factory tacho, it'll run off the heater fuse.
  18. Sounds about right. Or one of the others. Approx 3.78Lt
  19. Don't touch the auto diff if you want longer legs on the g'box. From memory on the Jap diff the choices you'll have is 4.11:1 , 4.22:1 , 4.44:1 KE55/30 Borg warner is 4.11:1 KE70 Borg warner is 3.89:1 , 4.11:1 , 4.30:1 Basically the higher the diff ratio numbers the lower the road and higher the revs. Don't quote me but i think the ke70 BW diff might fit into the ke55 BW diff housing.
  20. Its nice being wanted :glare: Just cause i'm farting like a jersey cow, doesn't give everybody the right to kick me in the butt and tell me to clear off :glare:
  21. Watching Series 18 Ep.3 of Topgear, they just had a news segment on the '86 May - "A new from Toyota is the FT86. Looks ugly but at least it has a rear diff and an LSD" Clarkson - "hmm, rear drive. Comparing rear wheel to front wheel drive is like comparing......" Hammond - "Whats interesting is that it has a boxer motor" Clarkson - "<giggles> Comparing a boxer motor to a normal motor is like comparing....." Clarkson - "And moving on...." May - "The new Dacia Sandero...."
  22. Nice
  23. :no2: Nope, no problems here. The only problem i seem to be having is that when someone updates a thread i'm watching i don't get a message sent to my email. And when i do their all out of wack and all over the place. EG - The off-topic thread, 8 messages today and a v8's firing order is more organized :lolcry: . No. 8 came through first, then it was #2, #5, #1......
  24. But its still not as big as ya mum :cmonkey:
