Been there done that, my old t-18 was classed as a torana when i had it put in for a wheel alignment once. Had me pondering about pulling the t-18 badge and sticking a torana one in its place.

I thought it was the steering arms that are different left to right. On the ke30/55 the lca's the only difference between them is where the stops for the steering is welded to the lca's, apart from that their both stamped from the same press.

P plate women drivers...... More so the ones that can't figure out depth perception and think the 2 second rule of thumb is where they sit about half a metre away from the car in front. Drunk drivers, that brings up a interesting memory of the time i came close to getting wiped out by one who was unlicensed and yet his wife was licensed and sitting between them was their four year old daughter.... Sometimes the best way of learning something is the dumb mistakes of others. Which is why i'll never drink and drive.

There's a couple of people on here that have kept the hydro's and yet still have a nice rev band while others have swapped over to the solids. The benefit of going solids is that the hydro's can have the possibility of pumping up at high rpm and not letting the valves close and yadda yadda. The benefit of hydro's is that of one less maintenance thing and times quiet. If it was me, i'd sooner keep the hydro's just cause its one less maintenance issue i'd have to worry about. Thats another problem, we don't have a skid pan here in toowoomba. We did have one something like about 10 years back at the local speedway track but the council didn't like the idea of it so it was closed down (and there's supposedly a proposal in closing that down cause of some dumb arse woman just had to build her house near the boundary fence of the track) and you wouldn't really see all that many people here wanting to travel all the way to brisbane for the skidpan or willowbank for a bit of circuit racing cause of the distance and possible what ifs involved. Like for me it'd be nice to go down to willowbank for a few hot laps in the turtle but the distance and cost is just too great for me to be able to do it.

Same same. When i was on my P's back up in Noosa i'd mostly keep my nose clean when i was in town, around other traffic or just plainly staying respectable cause of where i was driving and/or if there was someone else in the car. I'm still the same with my driving. About the only times i'll let my hair down is if i know what the road is like (driving to the conditions), if i'm going to try my hand at some wicked hectic drifto crap is when i can see the whole way around the corner even before i hit it. Basically i'll only drive like a tool if i'm the only one around and i know the area. I think the real problem we have is that some of the P platers do act like complete units around other people and it comes back on to us all cause the bystanders now have the impression that the next old car they see will be driven by some duckhead P plater. I'm very much like that myself now a days - see a old car and the first thought is P plater. See a ae86/S14 = drifter. Some tarted up car (aka ricer) = boy/girl street racer. A bit like the other day after i dropped my son off at daycare in the morning. On the way back home some tarted up honda heading towards me screamed past at what i'd say was around the 100 mark in a 60 zone. My first thought - phucking boyracer. But on the flip side of it i have seen P platers and drivers of those tarted up cars that really should keep their licence cause of how respectable they drive.

We've ran it a couple of times in the lancer to get us out of a tight spot with a lack of money, fuel and the servo having only e10 and talk about crap economy. At the moment we get about 360-380kays to a tank around town the times we've gone e10 we've managed about the same but that was including a lot of highway travel and a little bit of around town. Doing the same on unleaded we'd get about 440 to a tank. Brazil has been using e100 for a couple of years now. Ethanol blended fuel has been used way back before ww2 so i don't doubt it works, but.....

America case in point with that. A typical sized farm is used solely for growing fuel crops and the food for consumption has to be imported in. Its a win-lose situation, the money their saving on using ethanol in the fuel is spent on importing food in.

Came across this by accident with google fishing "ethanol mandate". Sounds all well and good and other crap forcing us to go green if we want to or not. When we got our '07 lancer i asked the mitsubishi service guy on the lancers first service about using e10 and he told us only if you have too cause it could void the warranty. What a nice draconian way of forcing us to either ditch the early model cars and make us either walk it cause we can't afford a brand new car or get a loan for one or force us to ditch the idea of having a pure classic car. For starters you've posted in the wrong spot, off the thread subject, but i won't hold that against you. You won't get a twin cam in the car for under two grand. Over two grand you will, but you'll need it certified. Unless you know people. Yes once a upon time every car made before 1985, or something around then, ran on leaded petrol but you'll be fine on unleaded and a bit iffy on the ethanol blended petrol.

Throwing something else into the ring. Tailgaters Wouldn't it be your word against theirs if you say they pulled in front and didn't leave you the braking room and they turn around and say that you was tailgating. I guess the "He says, they say" could only really work on dual lanes (motorway etc), but still.... Thinking about it and i've had tools pass me and then slowed down to under the limit on typical two-way roads.

Well, that didn't work as planned. I went out to my thing cause it uses the same outside tie-rods (TE489L) and i was going to measure them and thats about when i realised that TE3676R is female not male :blinks: Might have to climb back under the cars and measure the distance where the lca's bolt up to the cross-member of each car.

Having a look in a catalogue for PAJA steering and it looks like there's two different tie-rods for the ke70 The ke70 van uses - TE489L (both sides left and right) Whereas the rest (ke70, ae71) uses - TE3676R (both sides left and right) But the rackends for both are the same RE862 Maybe you've used the wrong tie-rods.....

It needs a step-side tray.... Or maybe a canopy over the tray, throw in a mattress for the next camping trip :P

I'm thinking along the lines of the steering arms. When you pulled out the lca's and struts did you do them as a complete unit or separate them at the steering arms ? Cause if you've separated them its possible that you've used the left lca on the right and vice verse. 9 times out of 10 its always something simple.
