Gearbox all fixed!!! Fitted it all up and bolted it up! Hopefully be running tomorow! Went to connect the clutch cable, all good until I found out that I had misplaced the spring that attaches to the gearbox. But luckily I still have the one off the KE20 gearbox so its all good! can't wait! Gonna be slow as but it will be worth it in the end! Cheers Tally

Thats killer man. Quick question, how would you stick the flares and front splitter/lip on? Pop rivet them? I'm going to get some but I don't want to do anything to my fenders and rear quarters.

Hey man thanks for that. Yea can't wait to get it running sweet. Hopefully this weekend I will get it running. After that ill need a new exaust and get a full tune up. Gonna get the brakes looked at as well. Hey scott Yea I was into the KE20s before and never thought much of the 25s. Then when I bought this one I realised just what I had got. But I do love my 20s Yea I was going to do the full granny spec with the whitewalls and venetians etc but I got over it so I'm going for the JDM look. Flares, front lip and maybe boot lip may come a bit later on, maybe once I start to prepare it to get painted after ive mucked around with it for a bit. See what happens Cheers guys Tally

Spotted Orange KE20 on west tce today near the BP. Anyone know whos it is? Has rims and sounds like a rotor.

Hey guys Nothing much has been done until today. Chucked in the new engine...... Just my luck. The engine doesnt fit the gearbox! The engine was from a early 72 KE20 and my car is a 74 KE25. The gearbox bolt spaces don't line up with the ke20 engine. I still have the ke20 gearbox though. Hey My KE25 project has come to a halt today. The engine I got out of an early 72 KE20. I chucked the engine in my KE25 today to find out that it does not fit the KE25 4speed. The bolt spaces are different and don't line up at all. I still have the KE20 gearbox. Would that be the soloution? Would I need to change anything else? eg tailshaft? Well didnt get to put the engine in as it rained again on Sunday so it will have to wait until the weekend. (Engine is just temporary anyway. Just so I can drive it around for a bit once I have finished with the body. 12A, 13B, 2TG or 4AGE. Keeping my options open.) But at least it’s going to be smooth sailing from here on! Was speaking to my dad and was telling him how the paint is a bit ratty and everyone who sees it thinks "sh!tbox" straight away. He said once the house is done towards the end of the year, we will make some room in the shed next to the Karman Ghia and we will paint it! My dad painted cars in the 80s and early 90s. He regularly bought old Coronas and fixed em up and painted them. Apparently they were the IN thing back then lol. Anyways here is a Nardi steering wheel I'm bidding on:

Got the engine out today!!! Yay finally some progress!!! Didn’t get to put the new one in as it started to rain! :) Maybe put the new engine in in the morning. Need to get some degreaser, motor wash and I'm going to paint some bits in the engine bay black to make it look a bit cleaner! Cheers Tally p.s. Also I want to change the stud pattern to 4x114.3. Quick small update: Getting some overrated NOS scuff plates from ebay. So just getting a few things while I wait for the engine to go in. Didnt get to put it in on sunday as my uncle was busy. everyone tells me to paint my 12" stockies on my 25 black but I say no because I wanna keep it original lol. How much would it cost to get them sandblasted and painted silver again?

Yea I have already, my thread is in the parts trader if you need anything that is left. update, bought some oil, coolent and a battery today. Also got a rocker cover gasket as it leaks in two spots. Hopefully get it in on Sunday. Might go to Gazzanats on the weekend so will have to sort something out :D also how easy is it to rebuild a 3K... out of interest! Cheers Tally

Got the engine out of the KE20 on Sunday. Didnt have an engine crane on hand so had to drop it out and lift the car back. Took about 3-4 hours work. I just hope it was worth it. :dance: I know the engine needs a rocker cover gasket as it leaks in two spots, is a bit smokey from what we saw. Would anyone know why the engine was overheating like wildly with smoke coming out of the rocker cover? Hmmm doesnt sound too good. But meh it was running. :cool: Once I get it in, I'm going to freshen it up with new fluids and stuff... Today just degreased the shit out of it. It was about 1cm THICK!!! LOL. Is that good or bad? :y: Hopefully get it in soon...
