Cheers man appreciate it ;) Yea man I initally wanted to do sumthing like that!!! But I thought it would be too expensive. But $40 bucks!!! Sounds wild!!! Let me know What I thought I would do was just do a quick job for now so I can get it on the road asap, just for the all japan day. Then towards the end of the year I was gonna fix it up properly. Fender Mirrors = tick!, Rims = tick! Got em already, just need to wait till the engine bay is all done and then ill put all my good stuff on when its back together ;) Well got down and dirty today. Got engine out, high pressure cleaned the engine bay, waited for it to dry and spent the rest of the day using a wire brush and an electric wire drill to scrape off all the surface rust that had accumulated on all the steering components. Still need another full days work to get most off. Had to use the KE70 to pull the car back to pressure clean it. We pushed it onto the car ramps with ease but the brakes seized up again lol so we had to pull it off with the KE70 again... Looks like I might have to look at the brakes next.. :hmm: God I hate rust....

I'm in!!! no. 144 -
I wanna see some pics of this Ke25. I'm in adelaide. My uncles a panel beater he could do it for ya...

Thanks guys I’m going to see what ill do with the gearbox situation. Might just leave it for the KE70. The KE25 just going to be a Sunday driver you know what I mean. Well anyway, I bought some rust converter, wd40, wax and grease remover and some acrylic primer. What I want to do is clean up the front end a bit. As you can see in the photo below it has a fair bit of surface rust on all the components. What I haven’t got my head around is if I have the right primer. The guy at SuperCheap said I should use acrylic primer as I will be painting over acrylic. But if I rust convert most of the area, wont it just be bare-metal underneath. Would I then need to etch primer it as etch primer is for bare-metal surfaces? Also can I de-grease the steering box or is it meant to be greasy? Also where can I get new bolts for the guards and front apron? I have some spares but a couple of the old ones broke so I have to get the studs out. Cheers Tally

haha yea if only you had yours ready Mick. I'm rushing to get mine done in time for the show. Anyone know a good exhaust place? Might get Jester automotive to do mine as they did my KE70. -
Hey man Nah The one I saw was a pale green colour and I spotted it in the morning at about 8:30am. Show us some pics of yours!!! Mine gets on the road soon.. Cheers Tally

Got me a new RUNNING engine guys!!! heheh its just a stock 4K-C. But I'm gonna fix it up a bit. Make it look a million bucks :hmm: Next weekend get the old engine out, prep up the engine bay, rust convert it and primer it and then paint it black. Once thats done ill fix up the engine a bit and chuck it in. I also got a 5speed gearbox from a KE70. Would I have to modify the trans tunnel to make the shifter fit or is it the same as the stock KE25 four speed? If yes I'm just gonna leave the four speed in. Any suggestions on what I should do before the engine goes in?

been popping up on ebay alot lately... and some more rare parts such as these would be worth getting your hands on: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-TE27...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-LEVI...1QQcmdZViewItem I would buy these but focusing on getting mine on the road first. Just keep an eye on ebay, stuff pops up all the time, and its mostly from malaysia who get it from Japan. Cheers Tally

Haha, thats pretty cool dude, you gonna thrash the shit out of it or fix it up lol?
-
Thanks man sounds good, what would be the process of chucking on the 55 brakes? Striaght bolt on or small mods?
-
Yea I forgot to mention this, sounds pretty good to me. I read you have to machine bolt holes or sumtin so it can fit? Ok, if done right could it be a positive thing? how badly would it affect the geometry and steering? a 4K or 5K This page might help: http://www.toycrazy.net/tech/struts.html

Hey guys just want to gather some info on a strut/brake upgrade for my '74 KE25. I have a TA22 diff to go in the rear so that is taken care of, I'm not really that fluent with suspension terms so please bare with me lol. Basically I wanna convert my KE25 to 114.3 stud pattern as I have some 14" meshies to go on it. Could anyone shed some light on this as I'm not really sure what the easiest/beneficial path to go down is. Could I convert the KE25 struts to 114.3? I have read that you can use TA22 struts? Could I use RA28 struts as I have a complete RA28 rolling Shell. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Tally

Any One Keen On A Rolla Cruise In Adelaide Tonite ????
Tally replied to ke70kid's topic in The Event Archive
Ok well I have posted on ausrotary that we are orgaising a decent rolla/rota cruise and a few people have expressed interest already. So location location.. hmmm I'm in the north-east so anywhere is good for me lol. Few people didnt like west lakes that much, and I thought there was way too many cops down that way. Few Possible Locations: Shopping Centers: Centro Arndale - Bit of a rough area, but is pretty central Castle Plaza - Not to far from north or south TTP - Probebly not an option lol West lakes - Not the worst location Northpark Shopping Centre - close to me Sefton Plaza Shopping Centre - across from Northpark Harbour Town - Been on some good crusies here a while back Fulham car park - Not to bad, same as west lakes Marion shopping center - good for people down south, not good for people up north K-Mart on anzac highway - Been on some hotrod crusies that were started here Non-Shopping Center Locations: Santos stadium car park - sarotors hold sucessful crusies from this location Know of any others? Crusie Map: With regards to the cruise map, most people say cruise through the bay and shit like that. Nothing wrong with that but it gets boring after a while. Id like to go through the hills. Havnt been up there in my car yet although not sure if it would be ideal. Good place for Rotaz, Nissans and Drifters alike but not stock as a rock Corollas. And as you know it is pretty dangerous up there. Time and Day: With regards to the day and time, id prefer a saturday mid day - afternoon and the cruise would end as it goes dark. Making sure we are driving away from the sun rather then towards it so we don't get blinded by a sunset. Then on the way back it would be night and fine. Obviously these are my own opinions and would like to get ideas from others. Yes harbour town was one of the first places that came to mind. Meet points is a good idea, so if people don't wanna meet at the start they can join along the way Let us know what you reckon is good Cheers Tally -

Me and Ben (chumps) are already into organising the next cruise. Keep an eye out for the thread soon. If anyone has some ideas for location, date, time, etc if would be greatly appriciated. We would like it to be fair on all people across Adelaide so no one has to drive more then anyone else (well try to). Cheers Tally -
Thanks man appreciate it. Yea I love it to bits, thats why I decided to say screw it, I'm keeping it and fixing it up hehehe. Didnt get a chance to work on it this weekend but over the easter long weekend I'm going to strip the rest of the front end down, prep it up, rust converter to get rid of the surface rust, prime it and spray the engine bay black. Plan is to get it up and running before ALL JAPAN DAY Sunday 27 April 2008 http://www.alljapanday.com.au Just need to find an engine and I'm set to go. Cheers, will keep you guys updated for sure.
