I was going to use 4ac bearings in my 18/40 4age bottom end. Same bearings between 18/40 4age and 4ac.

4ac is 18mm gudgeon pin and 40mm big ends. 99% sure.

don't know about the gearbox but i have all ways been told not to lighten standard flywheels.

3.8's are a very hot engine, When cruising my temp sits between 90-95 and the thermo kicks in at 102 exactly i think. The reason i ask is my mates auto died from oil temps getting too high and he had an external cooler similar to mine, Well its still usable it just doesn't change down gears and OD is gone. :lolcry:

Hey Hey, I have an after market oil cooler for my thm700 auto and its up against the radiator and gets air drawn through it when the thermo is on but it gets nothing when I'm still or my water temp is under 100c. So can i put a small fan on my oil cooler and just run it to a switch in the cabin ? And what will happen when i have both thermo's going, Will the different air flow rates mess with each other ? The radiators are slightly lower than the engine but the 3.8's have a bleed valve at the highest point.

VN/VP commodore radiators are alloy with plastic tanks, They work very well and are cheap.
