If you want a bit more power and don't want to go 4ag etc then find a 5k.
5k is a 1.5 litre over 4k which is 1.3.

I have only seen people remove the butterfly's and leave the plate there, I guess if the manifold bolted straight to the head it can be removed all together.

Heads might get shaved down to bump up the compression ratio pending pre load settings etc.
