  1. I like shiny things :)
  2. oooh touchy :) I had an MY02 Exceed as my last work car. mmm leather. Shogun in europe, Montero in the US.
  3. "oh no.... someone has dented my completely original imported corolla 1600 GT.... the repairs will be extremely expensive....whatever shall I do" $CHING CHING$ You know Pajero means wanker in spanish.... :)
  4. Yeah its quite rediculous really. I remember when xenon headlights were illegal... :) Back then when you imported a japanese car which had them you had to retrofit H4's.... If you want the actual story, the laws changed on the xenon/european headlights once the car companies themselves went through the process of proving those type of lights were ADR compliant... so now xenon is legal, at a private company's considerable expense. Now if we had a PRO-active government, (instead of the pathetic conservative human ooze that runs the country at the moment) New technologies which may potentially increase driver safety would be explored more effectively... rant rant rant... someone get me a megaphone and a che guevara t-shirt... quickly
  5. Just so you know, they're illegal. (most of the ebay ones anyway) You probably won't get pinged for them just driving around, but if you encounter a cop with a particularly small penis who got beaten up a lot a school who's having a bad day, you'll get a defect.
  6. The ranchero and futura are very appealing... the futura is especially desirable as ford australia released them here as a falcon, but only in 4 door. Tell me.... is that a mirthmobile? :) Amc pacer?
  7. Just hit the wreckers and grab some from a hilux/hiace or any "modern" car with 5x7 rectangular headlights. Most have standard H4 replaceable bulbs and are a shitload better. Cheap too. I picked up a pair for $20... they're very common and fit straight in with no modification as they are a standard size.
  8. The short answer is no... but we will need pictures to confirm that as you never really know for sure with toyota :) The 4th generation corolla was sold in so many countries with so many different configurations... a visual inspection is the usually the best way to confirm exactly what you're running. Also post up your vin/chassis number and someone here may be kind enough to consult the many databases on the web and tell you the exact specifications of your car. Pictures pictures pictures! Oh by the way.... one of my corollas has a special bond with sweden... I bought it off a swedish backpacker named ewa :D I still keep in touch with her and send her photos of all the nasty things I'm doing to her beloved little "eddie". (he looks a bit different now :y:)
  9. My GF bought me this one off ebay for xmas She's a good girl :) Got me an r32 gtst as well cos I just sold mine and was all sooky about it...
  10. Car jesus.... love it dude :) Wouldn't you be the car moses though? Leading the cars out of slavery to the promised land but taking 38 years to get there? But In all seriousness I don't wanna come across as some flagrant opportunistic capitalist so I'll just put a couple of points across about myself so you don't get the wrong impression... (and for anyone else who may be wondering who the hell this 7shades idiot is) Amongst many other things, I'm a licensed motor dealer. But I'd like to think I'm a slightly more ethical one. Cars aren't my main source of income... more of a hobby with benefits. My formula for determining the final sale price of any car I recondition is: purchase price + parts and expenses + my time @ $25 per hour. This more often than not ends up being much cheaper than the book value but I'm ok with that cos it means someone gets a bargain and I get good rep. I also stick to toyotas mainly, as they generally don't break down and cost the buyer more money. I also import from japan. except unlike most importers, I don't sell crap. I only bring in 3 or 4 cars a year cos it takes me that bloody long to find really really good stock... genuine low kilometre, unmolested examples. I charge a premium for these cars as they cost more for me to buy... but the genuine enthusiasts know what they're paying for. The other upshot is I'm in no hurry to sell them once they're ready for sale so I get to roll some cool wheels for a few months while I wait for the right buyer :D As for the yankee metal, this is a new thing for me. I was always going to get the mustang for the old man, we just figured getting two and selling one would break us even and we end up with a free car. Then your photos got me thinking about bringing in some other cool cruisers so I started playing with the idea in my head and did some research and I reckon I can pull it off. As soon as they arrive here they will be going straight into the loving hands of a couple of old blokes I know. These guys are cool.... one mechanic, one panelbeater, both "retired" and running a little restoration business. As well as doing private jobs, these guys bring in about 4 cars a year (mostly big caddies and the occasional mustang) and they restore and sell them for big dollars... hows 65k for a 64-67 'stang! I wouldn't be selling mine for anywhere near that much.... just enough to cover the work they do, and my time. As for as throwing some cash your way goes, I was thinking if it all works out after I've come and had a look, you might wanna help me out on a semi-regular basis by finding the good examples, taking photos, getting them running etc and putting them on a truck to LA ready for shipping to Au. If you're up for it, I'd be happy to compensate you for your time. This is of course completely up to you... and its all up in the air at the moment I'm just thinking longer-term. So yeah.... I'd like to think we're on a similar wavelength... I hate seeing cool cars get wrecked and I like the ones I sell to go to good homes... And I'd be happy to see old mate jimbo get what he's due for doing the right thing and saving the old metal. End rant :y: Jarad
  11. People who vandalise cars have little dicks and end up becoming police officers.
  12. mmm.... "big" yard. Mikey you're touching me in my special place..... :) I arrive in the states 5th of march... leaving 30th. Going to mexico for a few days during spring break... (oh f@$k yeah)... but other than that I have no other arrangements so I reckon sometime between 17th-29th. I'll try and sort out the 'stangs as soon as I get there so I know how much time and moolah I have left to play with. Really keen to make this happen dude.... If it works once, it'll work again and could turn into a nice little passive income for us both.
  13. nah dude fo rizzle.... I'll be trying my best to get there.... like I said in the tokyo thread I'm coming over with an intent to purchase two mustangs... one to keep for the old man, one to sell. (and hopefully finding my chaser in Japan on the way :D ) So the only things limiting me will be time and funds. Having seen that field I hope to have enough of both to import some "restorers" as well So yeah... fingers crossed I have as much green to play with as I would like by the time I leave :)
  14. I'm so there.
  15. dan I bet you tell little kids santa isn't real too :D
  16. Have the couch ready mikey.... I need to see thid field of dreams in person. :D
  17. Fill glove compartment with peanuts. Remove small cover panel from steering wheel and undo nut. Wind down window, tie rope to steering wheel. attach other end to sleeping african elephant (note: african, NOT indian. This is important.) Start car, release handbrake. Engage first gear and very swiftly remove foot from clutch pedal whilst simultanously applying liberal pressure to accelerator pedal. As a safety precaution, you may wish to lean slightly to the left at this point, as using this method may cause the steering wheel to become dislodged rather abrubtly. Retrieve peanuts from glove compartment and feed to the very angry elephant. Easy.
  18. Ok dude.... I'm not making any concrete plans til I get to LA but I'll give you as much advance warning as I can. Thanks heaps... Just a couple of quick questions.... whats the deal with title for something thats been sitting for so long? I have to have clear title to import it for road use in AU... will I have to wade through a heap of beauracracy to obtain a new one for it? And also, do you have a rough idea of how much road transport would be to vegas....? I've tried a few US websites for a quote but not much luck as yet Cheers man
  19. Thats really really odd... thats massive structural failure.... even when we overpressurised a tyre once and it popped in a similar way It wasn't that bad Maybe it hatched and there's a little baby tyre somewhere under the car looking for a feed :D
  20. hehehe I already asked if he had one of those :D In the tokyo thread which mysteriously disappeared. 800 USD for the fury.... I'm interested.... I'll be relatively close to the midwest in either the 2nd or 4th week of march... Is it easier to fly in to OK City or Wichita If I decided to come and have a look?
  21. they came in the same design, different sizing on supra, celica and soarer.
  22. $180 plus postage.
  23. aaah yep.... rusty-arse KE70s. gotta love the tropics..... mine's in the shed recieving its yearly de-rusting at the moment :y:
  24. Aaaw you're giving me baaaad ideas dude.... GF is gunna be pissed....
  25. Yeah teza... you're spot on with the fury/phoenix differences.... mate of mine had a gunmetal grey 66 phoenix (like the white fury in the pics) when I had my 65 chev belair. We were so pimp. :y: Mikey I'm going to think seriously about coming up and checking out that fury I and the new yorker.... Are either of them missing any major components? Mainly the brightwork and other external trim bits are my main concern, and whether I can fit both in one container... I have 7'10" to play with...
