  1. Not a 'rolla, I know, but found this in me inbox this morning:
  2. You're not alone, ancullen. My car's yellow, but I have panels and doors that are brown, bright yellow and green.
  3. Crap, made another version with phatter wheels and a better spoiler... but pressed no when ps asked to save. I meant to press cancel, dammit.... aaah, must b time for bed.
  4. OOoh.. I wanna play too... Not enough mojo to massage the numbers on to the roof and sides... i's not too hard, bt PS's vectr tools are soo different from illustrator.
  5. First place to start skinning would be the stylesheet: http://wikidev.net/MediaWiki_skin_tweaks More indepth info at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Conten..._administrators Scroll to the 'Customization section' MediaWiki uses the PHPTAL template engine, so rather than a straight include, you might have to hack a hook into that. I've actually not actually used a PHP templating engine before, so I can't really help with specifics, but there's an entry somewhere in that second link which explains how.
  6. Actually. he's affiliated with b3ta.com, means he's a pom.
  7. Done. Split into General, A Series, and K Series. How's that? I've not yet moved any of the content over yet, though.
  8. I;ve gotten that one before... but I the "You may have whatever" message set off alarm bells.. the writing style is different from standard MS messages... I did a double take, and sure enough, it was in a firefox window. I shitlisted *caselmedia.com* after that.
  9. I've started a wiki entry on decoking: http://www.rollaclub.com/wiki/index.php?ti...e/Decarbonising
  10. No worries. Oh, and I remember how you enable image uploads... there's a knob in LocalSettings.php in your wiki/ directory. Enable it there, and you'll have to set the correct file permissions on the upload paths. Ah, here's a helpful link: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Running_Med...e#Enable_Upload
  11. I've started a Tech: Namespace. (Edit the front page to see) Of course, to be useful, you need to define a Tech namespace in the config file, but we can worry about that later.
  12. No worries. Too glad to help. Where would a good place be to put general purpose guides? I'm thinking I might do one for rust repair.
  13. Firefox/Moz users can get this wiki markup tool bar: http://wikipedia.mozdev.org/installation.html
  14. Oh, before you all go crazy, best read the wikipedia manual of style: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style and the wikimedia markup reference from the mozilla people. http://developer-test.mozilla.org/docs/Hel...arkup_Reference The correct way to create a link in a wiki is : [[Page Title | Link Text]]. [http:// something] style links are supposed to be links to outside sides. Wiki also has this concept of namespaces, which are like top level sections, if you will. So you could have things like drivetrain: suspension: etc. To customise them, you'll have to edit your configuration file a little. I can't find the link that describes them anymore, but the docco by the mozilla people is good. It also might be worthwhile thinking how we want to organise the information, and what sort of information we are going to have. All the bits you have on the frontpage come to mind, possible subcategories could include things like diagnostics, maintenance, and upgrades. Lik Ancullen said, it is also probably worth splitting things like the engine series into separate subcategories. Each user also gets his own page. Mine is at http://www.rollaclub.com/wiki/index.php?ti...User:Wyldephyre Jamie's is at http://www.rollaclub.com/wiki/index.php?ti...ser:Super_Jamie and so on. Might see if I can put up some pics and stuff after applying another layer bog on my front guard.
  15. Did you know that Dremel doesn't do good things to drive shafts??? I found out and it only cost me $800 to do so (about 18 months back). Details?
  16. Cool. Just let me know if you need a hand.
  17. A wiki is, in essense, a website which anyone can edit. That's what wikipedia is; and encyclopedia that is editable by anyone. Of course, it keeps track of changes, and you can customise it so that only registered users can edit. The idea is, that like minded people, can come together and and create content quickly. We're testing one at work, to maintain system documentation. It would be interesting to see how many of the team will actively engage in using this.
  18. One thing I do like about ICQ is the ability to send offline messages... for those things that don't warrant the effort of sending an email. I use trillian, so I'm still on ICQ. And MSN. And I don't get ads or fall prey to MS security holes. Good times. Although I must admit, with MSN's new features, I'm under pressure to upgrade. Personally, I don't give a rats. But there are people on my contact list who really like the new features.
  19. Oooh. Have you checked out Medawiki? (http://wikipedia.sourceforge.net/). It's the same software that powers WikiPedia.
  20. ACtually, it has a tendency to suck in exhaust from the back hatch, especially now that the seals are gone... so that name might stick around for a bit longer.
  21. Wagon O' Death is for the time being renamed bogmobile The suspension has now been fixed, so the car does not want to run all over road anymore. My day went a little like this. * Eyeball rust spot * Get out angle grinder *NNNNNNNnnnnyeeeeeeahNNNNNNNnnnnyeeeeeeagnNNNNNNNnnnnyeeeeeeeeeeeeeah (<- Angle grinder sfx) * Holy Crap! A big gaping hole where there used to be stuff! Repeat two or three times The area where the hatch closes seem to consist of about 80% bog.. I spend most of the day grinding away the bog with a dremel, so that I could get at the rust underneath. And I cut out some of the dodgier looking bits with my dremel. I love my Dremel. Spent too much time trying to figure out how to hook up the bendy bit for the dremel. I hate to see how much more bog there is the car. It's and interesting experience to see a panel go from paint to bog to rust to metal (or nothing, as the case maybe) under an angle grinder. It's like watching those timelapse movies of erosion on Discovery Channel.
  22. Been messing a bit with Wikis at work, and I was just wondering if having a Corolla wiki would be a good idea? I mean, great as good a repository for information rollaclub is, vBulletin is a discussion forum. A wiki would be more like a traditional website, meaning that information could be organised and access in the same manner as one would a normal website. And it still has some rudimentary features for discussion. I'm not saying get rit of vBulletin, just that a wiki might complement what we already have here.
  23. In my country.... goddamn. It's been soo long since I had a good coconut... you make me homesick... (wyldephyre is from the Maldives)
  24. This should be cross referenced in the 'owned' thread.
  25. Ideally, new everything. Realistically, I don't know, depends on how much time, money and effort is involved. I would like to retrim the whole thing in Blue. I do have a set of new (old new) seats from Fook, plus seat covers. That just leaves getting rid of the beige trim, dash, middle hump, speaker boxes and what have you and replacing it with something new. I'm not too particularly sold on the dodgy brown door cards either. I had a quick look around for information on this, but all I could find was instructional videos amd info on how to freshen up existing trim.
