  1. bullshit joash's sprinter isn't going! it is very much alive even has rego again! it owned that road in question along with brendo's beast just the other day
  2. i to have seen this not normally my style with all the cali paint n shit but you gotta respect the man for building something as top notch as he has done packs a fare punch too, 200hp from a 2tge+t
  3. i haven't exactly done these roads so bare with me but is it possible, to cruise (ha-ha) from launceston to poatina, doing the descent (ment to be an awesome road) stopping in poatina to re-group and for a drink, then head to the valley, for a few runs maybe not hours but for abit, then cruise back to deloraine for more refreshments before going our seperate ways (north west guys going back to devonport etc) and the rest heading back to launny for maybe a bbq somewhere? BYO everything :hmm: just throwing some ideas around. I'm assuming joash, brendo, justin and the rest would all be welcome? also aaron it is okay you can call me johnny
  4. what about a northern cruise through "that famous road in the valley"? get the north west guys and the launny guys (and girls shouldn't be sexist) and any southern people that aren't scared to drive past the bridewater bridge could be fun, and abit of friendly competition on that road, and maybe a stop in deloraine for lunch? edit: also ive reserved my seat in tassies (if not australia's) best keto :hmm:
  5. i know exactly how u feel, ive had my car for over 12months coming up 18months and its not painted yet lol, its pretty annoying i just get to a stage where I'm like "i really can't be f@$ked anymore" but i make sure whenever i get the tiniest bit of motivation i take it! haha keep it up man would love to see this car finished!
  6. car looks sooo good man! finally one being done up to my tastes! what size and offset are the watanabes? will be soo much nicer slammed hard though! what engine you got planned?
  7. i saw you on the way home from town on the bus today leigh you were in the zuk atleast i think it was you
  8. f@$k i can see a few long arse days/nights spent with a grinder ahead! yaya! my car has to get painted first though!
  9. i don't see how you'd break a t-50 (gearbox) with an n/a motor ;) you'd have to be crunching gears or the box be totally farked to start with! a w-55 or 57 or 58 would be abit excessive on an n/a motor! and just add un-unnecessary weight! a t-series diff would be a good idea from ta22/ta23, ra23, t-18, ra40 (and theres probley more) and i dunno about converting to a coil sprung rear end with a 4link, there would be ALOT of custom work!
  10. someone told me it was 3k block with a 16v smallport head grafted on.... apparently not ;)
  11. this car is overrated mate! and i WANT those centrelines ;)
  12. this looks nuts mate! i really wanna ke25 with a carby 4ag one day as a daily touge car! i'll be watching this closely!
  13. hahahaha
  14. should get some "offset correctors" ! those wheels would look overrated if they were sitting level with the gaurds! but thats just my opinion :hmm:
  15. close but no cigar :hmm: you ALWAYS do that casey its Speed Star Racing
  16. its a corolla, near enoughs good enough :hmm:
  17. $1400? jesus! i know dave lawson of AJPS does 15x8 -9's for $245each and last time i checked nankang ns2's are about $90each for 195/50r15's and josh young swears by them! thats $1340
  18. its a madhouse lip
  19. looks good mate! 200hp is IMPRESSIVE to say the least! sits and waits for simon to post!
  20. fark yeah! your car is hot overrated insane clean all of the above and more! 4age time :D i want to go fo a ride in it! your dad can spray my car if he wants? all prep work will be done, ha-ha i already have acrylic paint though, meh I'm actually serious lol i dunno if i wanna do it myself anymore, any idea of $$$ ? edit: explained the fark yeah!
  21. i think keep nick no affence simon! you know i love you (even if the feeling not mutual) and i love your car! but even if nick is driving a dak-dak atm, i know he has something up his sleeve and is planning a come back to the rolla-fag scene! thats just my 2cents, peace
  22. first of all! welcome! as simon has said, there are quite a few "rolla fags" in launceston most of which would be more than happy to answer your questions and help you out! so don't be afraid to ask! also feel free to pop round to my house, or add me to msn (pm for more details) i can answer questions that you might have, to the best of my ability (simon would ultimately know more) i also have some connections with a tassie parts company that can do custom fabrication, 2nd hand parts (shocks, wheels etc) and they also are t-3 dealer! (pm for more details about this) i recommend you take a look at www.ae86drivingclub.com.au even though you don't have an 86, its worth heading over just to checkout there forum sponsors and what they have to offer if anything! also don't forget to checkout the rollaclub sponsors! becoming a member of Toymods is also a VERY good idea as the information on that site is unbelievable! FRONT BRAKES: ive been looking into a swap which (basically) involves ra60 struts, nissan r32 4 spot calipers, r32 rotors re-drilled to 4stud, you would also need a better master cylinder and braided lines would also be ideal! DIFF: t-series from ta22/t18/ra40/ra23 would be fine for anything up to 130-150kw IMO if you plan on making anymore than that you should look into an f or g-series diff. the g-series would need to be re-drilled to 4stud and would need some brakes to suit, the r31 swap is popular if you go with this option! the f-series can be had in 4stud with drum rears (from a tarago i think), which as with the drums on the t-series, would more than be up to the task of pulling the car up with some decent braided lines and new drum shoes! a brake bias adjuster might also be an idea! LSD: a cusco 2way centre is available to the best of my knowledge for a t-series TRD also do 2ways, and so do KAAZ I'm pretty sure as for the f-series I'm pretty sure TRD do a 2 way to suit! g-series is not so lucky i don't think you can get an aftermarket 2way, but you can use a std lsd from a hilux (?) although this is obviously not going to be as tight as a 2way centre! WHEELS: you need something in 4x113.4! you should EASILY be able to get 15x7 +40 under (providing they clear the struts), just the PCD is wrong! casey (flat out) has 14x7 -3ish on the back of his car and theres no problems! I'm 95% sure that thing has stock gaurds, but remember with any of those diffs listed above your going to get a rear track increase! SUSPENSION: with the ra60 struts you SHOULD be able to find a decent short stroke shock (from an sw20 mr2 i THINK don't quote me), like KONI adjustables, KYB AGX adjustables, 2nd hand TRD adjustables, 2nd hand tokito adjustables would also be ideal. IMO weld on coilover conversion for the struts would be your best bet for springs in the front, giving you whateva spring rate you like + height adjust ability! camber tops would be ideal also to give you some adjust ability as far as camber goes! Cusco makes these, as does T-3, and i believe tein does them aswell! (all to suit 86 which should fit, if not with a minor re-drill/slot of the strut top) a strut brace would be ideal for the front but that'd have to be a custom item, not hard to make if you know how to use a welder or know someone who does! (hint hint there are plenty on here that do!) you might want some different longer lca's which will add some camber and track which is always good! but could cause understeer in wet if you go overboard! sway bars would also be ideal, Whiteline makes them as does KMAC add some new poly bushes all round if your really keen! For the rear some decent adjustable short stroke shocks and some re-packed leaf packs would be the go, and some people have done a custom panhard rod conversion? I'm yet to do some re-search as to whether this is even a good idea on a leaf sprung rear end! thats about all i think i have to say! Thats my ideal setup for a ke30-55 with a good engine whether it be high revving n/a or a turbo (my proffered option) i think that would be an awesome setup for the track and the street! i'd also add into the equation a decent sports steering wheel, gauges, and a good bucket seat! if ive missed anything, JUST ASK!
  23. looks clean as with the hotwires on the front! i love the colour though!
