Hey all, just trying to organise some rear shocks for my ae71 4age sedan & wondering if any one would be able to tell us which model suzuki sierra front shocks to ask for while ordering?? Also wondering, i know the strut insert diameter for the ae86's are 51mm & ke70's are 43mm and the ae71's are the same as ke70's aren't they??? cheers tom

hi guys just wondering, i've done a bit of a search but to no avail have i found out what kind of replacement shocks i can use for the front instead of the standard ae71 front monroe gt gas shocks as with my suspension being low king springs & then being chopped 2 coils all round, i'm after any suggestions of a different type ie: rear shocks you can replace with suzuki sierra front shocks....... would anyone happen to know what kind i'd be able to use to stop my front end from bouncing around that little bit to much???? cheers tom

heya i ordered my rwd extractors from option 1 garage in brissy for $240 delivered to my door the next day

hey all, i have an ae92 imported 100kw (7rib block) 4age in my ae71 and am wanting to make it a 4agze. just seeing if this might be cheaper than doing another conversion to the 4agze and what could be involved....what i am wondering is 1. would i be able to bolt the sc12 supercharger onto the engine and just replace the stock 4age ecu with an ae92 4agze ecu? (will the same wiring loom be able to be used again from the stock 4age)?? 2. would i need to rebuild the engine with 4agze internals or would i be able to just leave the stock internals???? I'm sure there would be some other things involved so if anyone has any info that would be found useful please feel free to have an input.... cheers tom p.s sorry if this is in the wrong section

hey mate i fitted an autotechnica monza reclinable racing seat into my ae71 by taking the seat rails off of my ke70 drivers seat n put a couple of washers between the rail n the base of the seat on all 4 corners and it bolted straight in to where it should line up to in the car....also just get a tape measure and measure the distance between all the holes on the base of both seats to see if it could line up for u.....hope that helps out

i had the same problem in my ae71 n same with my mates in there ke70's so i just covered them all in black floss material to cover the whole thing....its cheap n pretty easy to do

hey wen i got my ae71 modded for the 4age and drivers bucket seat i just took it to my mechanic who did both my mod plates and roadworthy all in the same day so it all depends on who you get to do yours

cheers for the help guys.....we managed to sort it out that the alternator is now working, so thank you very much for the info

hi all, i've just finished and registered my 4age ae71 corolla, but there's just one last minor hiccup and that is my charge light on my dash doesn't turn off and my alternator's not charging at all.... I had a look at it a bit earlier on tonight and i realised a mate of mine has chopped the wires half way round the loom for some stupid reason ;) so i was just wondering if anyone might know what kind of wire goes to what?? there's three (3) wires into a plug that just plugs into the back of the alternator and there's another wire that bolts onto the outside of the alternator for the earth.... 1st wire is: a thick white wire (i'm guessing another kind of earth) 2nd wire is: a small black wire with a red stripe (i'm guessing a constant power of some sort) and the lucky last 3rd wire is: a medium sized yellow wire with a tinge of green (kinda like a rainbow swirl paddle pop lol only with yellow n green though) any help once again would be much appreciated thank you in advance cheers tom

Ok guys well she's all sorted now.........seems that eveything was fine, there was nothing wrong with the igniter or coil or wiring in the engine bay what so ever......it was my stupid fault for not knowing about one red & black wire off of a circuit opening relay near the ecu that needs to be fused and then wired upto the ignition to send all the signals to where they needed to go :( But now it all seems fine and starting which is music to my ears after a long 6 months :), now all that i have left to do, is get it tuned & timed, lowered, mod plated, roadworthied & registered by next friday n i'll be one happy camper :P I would just like to thank every1 for their input with what the problem could have been and will post pics up of both my rolla's wen i get my camera fixed................so thank you to everyone

cheers heaps for the e-mail jonathan........it looks like it will help me out alot and i did a bit more checking on the net and you were right about it being a 100kw 4age....all the things listed are what the engine just happens to have.. thank you heaps and if i happen to have any more toubles (praying to god i that i don't) i will post it back up here...... cheers heaps

i'm not to sure if mine is a 100kw or 86kw 4age......i've been told its an 86kw one. also i'm not sure if u can, but would there be any way of posting up a diagram of the igniter plug wires n which is which or maybe sending an e-mail with it to my e-mail address......if you can it is muchly appreciated and my e-mail adress is [email protected], if not thank you for trying to help out

well i can understand the not much sleep in the past few days as i have spent countless hours trying to fix whatever it is that needs to be fixed to get it running......... :jamie: and i wish that i could afford to get craig here to help out with this but unfortunately its not an option that i have right now.. these 5 wires come from the complete wiring loom into this connector & then that plugs into the igniter, but unfortunately i have to wait yet another day for my mates boss to hear back from toyota (or whoever he is getting the information off of) before anything can be done about it.........also it doesn't quite help me wen you don't understand the electrical side of things & being colour blind at the same time ;) with my mates help i understand which are the 2 wires with power to them and just can't quite follow the black 1's back far enough to see where they go to
-
cheers craig......i had a look at the wires that head into the plug n there seem to be, 3 black wires with red dots on them, 1 black with orange stripe through it (constant power from ignition switch i'm told) & the last 1 is another black with orange stripe through it plus it has the red dots on it aswell......... also i have mounted the igniter using the old bolt hole from where the old coil from the 4ac used to be mounted on the passenger side strut tower & the coil assembly is using the other hole that is there from the old coil pack if that helps in any way!!! but i haven't touched the car today as my auto electritian mate had got the wiring diagram today from toyota but it didn't come with any wording or labels of whats what :jamie: so his boss has to wait til tomorrow to hear from toyota about them sending something through to them so unfortunately it's gotta wait til tomorrow.....but its got me stumped as to what is what ;)

Well i had managed to hook these wires up on monday night & when it came to testing, my car just didn't want to start...... wires are connected, power going to everything that needs power but there is no spark coming from the coil to the distributor, yet again.....Now yesterday afternoon i went to see my mate that works at the toyota wreckers & we borrowed another 3 4age ae92 coil packs to give all of them a shot...........but neither of them wanted to work (although they all came out of running cars not long ago) so then i managed to get a hold of another mate thats an apprentice auto electritian & he checked every thing & said all the wiring was correct n couldn't see why it wasn't starting. Further investigation into it all (testing every wire possible around the coil & igniter) & found out that its the 5 wire plug that plugs into the igniter pack that is the problem, somewhere along the loom the earth heading into the igniter pack isn't getting anything to it....so now we're all trying to figure out which out of the 5 wires is the earth one (as he hasn't much experience with the 4age's at all) so i can bypass it with a wire coming straight from the negative off of the battery to give it all that it requires. Anyone that mite be able to help me out with this as i'm hoping to have this beast on the road by the start of february & need to get it started for my r.w.c. Any help is muchly appreciated, thank you
-
cheers for some insight there craig..........I just got home from work and am going to attempt this to see if the little girl wants to start for me..... If anyone knows of anything else that i might have left out or forgotten please feel free to let me know, but will let u all know how this works out....... Thank you very much

Hi all my name's tom and i've just done the ae92 fwd 4age converted into rwd into my ae71 sedan and i'm onto the last leg of getting it started.......It starts to click over but its just not getting any spark from the coil The problem i have at the moment (i think) is to do with a few wires coming from a clip near the ecu for the inside part of the wiring loom. There is a clip that has 3 main wires (black & red, black & orange, black & white) approx 4mm in thickness that need to go from that clip to somewhere....The otherside of this clip comes from in the engine bay through the firewall and i've triple checked that all of the wiring loom (inside and outside) is connected in the areas that need to be connected... I have a printout here that states from an ae86 4age (and i know ive got an ae92 engine but its just a reference) that the red & black and also the orange & black wires go to the "run" source and the black & white wire goes to the "start" source......I've tried connecting them to the same coloured and thickness wires inside from the original wiring, but still nothing yet..... I'm just wondering if any person out there that has done this conversion (which i'm sure there's quite a few people) might be able to shed a bit of light on my situation if possible, as to whether i need all those wires connected and where they might have connected them to. Any help with this would be much appreciated and thank you in advance....... Tom

easily done........cut n shut will done by a mate of mine in brissie after i have found out if there will be any interuptions with clearances n exhaust n extractors being done by another mate of mine
-
oh ok then. what if its a complete fwd ae92 4age going into an ae71????? this is why my question of getting it modified n if it would clear most things??? just trying to get most of the things done before it goes into the car which will be happening over christmas if i can work out the manifold stuff...... thanks
-
hey guys thanks for replying so quickly. would u happen to know why the fwd manifold cut n shut will go right into the clutch master n the rwd sprinter manifold wouldn't??????
-
hi all, just a quick question. i've been searching through all of the different forums to try n find the answer but i was wondering if someone out there has put a fwd 4age into their ae71 or ke70, and when they got it into the car did the air intake manifold clear under the bonnet without being modded in another way than just the cut n shut to put the throttle body onto the front instead of the rear???????????
