  1. I've found that people that frequent model or brand specific forums like this one have much lower opinions on a cars value than the greater public. For example, I used to frequent twincam16.org about 6 years ago. Those guys would die at the thought of paying 4 grand like I did for bog stock Aus spec AE86. But, when I went to sell it 2 years later, I advertised in the trader and I got back what I paid for it. You'll also notice that on odd occasion someone new jumps on here and tries to sell their car at prices that are well above what Rollaclubians would deem "reasonable" and they don't seem to sell haha!
  2. He quoted me 80 bucks for four tyres with a stripe of about 3/4-1 inch wide, which I thought was insanely cheap. Needs access to power and to be parked on a flat, takes about an hour to do, from 8 to 2, anywhere in Adelaide. Darryl at SA Whitewalls - 0427 715 380.
  3. I'm pretty sure the Chaser and its sisters were considered as an alternative to the..... wait for it..... Avalon! some Toyoguru will probably clarify that?
  4. Yeh, usually if you search for any ke10 stuff it's up in the top few hits.
  5. Better start looking then mate, took me 6 years to get this one. I did score another one through Pete about 6 years ago, but that was absolutely stuffed. Body wasn't even worth salvaging in the end. I was interested in one that Gavclassic had for sale, then came across this instead! As for the whitewalls Scott, I spoke to Daryl today as a matter of fact! Next week hopefully!
  6. have a look at this. Thought it was weird that it shows up the URL like that.
  7. Lads while we're on the topic, I notice one of my spring clips that holds the lifter plunger in place is missing. Any ideas where i'd score a new one?
  8. yeh I'm with Sam on that one, if you can get one of those vibration isolating mounts you're set. I had a hardmounted VLT pump on my bluebird and it made a racket. The lift pumps make that ticking sound, but the whine of the high pressure pump is the real pain in the arse.
  9. can't spray Acrylic over anything for that matter. If you prime over old paint, then hit it with acrylic, shortly thereafter the toluene in the paint will lift all the old paint - start again! My uncle is a panelbeater and he recommended I use the Protec primer on my car.
  10. Long time no speak in this spot. Progress so far, I've recarpeted the rear, and retrimmed the doors etc. I'll post pics shortly. Pulled the base of the back seat out and cruise with the rear all open and airy! Rims now painted Gloss Black - highly recommend the Holts rattle cans, they work a treat, no more Aussie Export rubbish. Scored a set of twin dellortos, and I'll be strapping them to the 5K I'm building up as well. As for the Whitewalls, I'm living in Adelaide now, apparently SA whitewalls does them for 25 bucks a corner. Soon to be determined!
  11. Mate, yours has 4 doors! so no, its not yours. Also, please offer any suggestions etc. I also plan on doing a front angle as well, but I can't be buggered doing the grille right now.
  12. nope. ignore the exhaust by the way, that was artistic license. keep guessing
  13. thanks to the heatwave, I'm in front of my PC so I started knocking something up. Heres an incomplete attempt. (I hate drawing the wheels) I dig simple, minimalistic liney styles (I'm an engineer not an artiste, so excuse my lack of correct lingo). Black windows were an accidental button click, but I left them like that until I can work out how get a shaded look in Corel. I'll also put a shadow in below the car. I'll put more details in like handles and hilights later too. PS see if you can work out whose car I drew it from.... I got the pic off here.
  14. Cool thanks for the replies there. Might just wait for this damn heatwave to pass and then i'll get off my lazy arse and have a harder look (read - jack it up and start turning!) Any original Toyoglide sedan owners out there who wouldnt mind checking their diff ratio as well? cheers tom.
  15. Read up on Diff Ratios, didnt get much further than that. I checked my compliance plate, but it only has the SN, no diff info. Too hot at the moment to get under the car as well. Anyway - I want a taller ratio. I know the Manual Wagons run a shorter ratio than sedans, but I have an automatic. Can anyone confirm that Automatic sedan diffs are taller than the automatic wagons? And how do I find out what I've got, without jacking it up and turning and counting haha. Cheers, tom.
  16. Met a chap called Scott in a slammed ke30 wagon the other night. He's a member, but doesnt post much.
  17. Piffle KE16>Everything.
  18. from what I gather theres heaps of grilles actually. I can't keep a handle on them. Dash is different, I think the 11's have C Pillar vents, 10s don't. 6 grand, what crap. My mate rang me cos an old granny offered to sell him a ke30 4 door for 4 grand pffffft! I wouldnt even dream of paying 3 figures for a ke30, let alone 4 figures.
  19. Thats going to be the first thing I look at this morning when I get in the car.....!
  20. Ahaha. And a set of SPATS! seriously though, flat black with a bit of pinstriping could be cool.
  21. Nerdy - or EASY! haha.
  22. yeh, the rule of thumb with sandblasting is: if you don't want sand hard to get places, don't sandblast. Even with masking the sand gets in everywhere!
  23. search for supercharged 4k, you will find a 16 page post with plenty of info to start off. As for fuel pump remember, basic physics, your fuel pressure must be high than your boost pressure, so a 10psi pump should allow ~7 psi boost. Thats a rule of thumb to start off with, you can read and learn more yourself....
  24. Should just have some kind of wire spring clip that holds it onto the clutch fork, Just unclip it and slide it off the input shaft, then drop the new one into place and put the clip back on.
  25. damn you people, more notice! I'm all booked up already. Otherwise, I could have called 911 and gone for a good flex......!
