Are we talking standard air cleaner, or after market chromie? Either way, that seems very strange. whats the engine like when it idling, very shakey? Maybe engine mounts?

Ahh the curse of the ke30/55 clocks! Not the best clock on the face of the planet! If it runs too slow, there should be a little ajusting screw on the back, the should be marked with an F for faster, and S for slower...I think... turn it a little to the F. Give that go, fixed mine up.....then it stopped completly....

The weather was not very good on the morning of marques, so attendance was down a lot on last year. I went about 11am with my bro (ke30 and 55) But didn't enter them as they were far too dirty! Canberra celica group had a great turn out, which was good to look over. Maybe next year we can get the rollas there as well... Found some pics on The riotact site

Yeah same diff! I think all dexron fluids are the same, just improved over the years. I just put dexron 3 in my bro's 55, no dramas

Should be a trimatic box, so go with DEXRON type fluid. Should have 'suits older general motors boxes' i think on it.

My vote goes to the Tivo adds, with that Fudgewitt tellings us how bloody good they are. They cost 700 bucks! The adds seem to be on every second add... Enough!

You mean this one? As you can see it an 'update', 'ke30 1/2', 'series 2', whatever you want to call it, and being an SE, has pov pack vinyl seats. I think the whole strap Vs arm rest thing is a bit weird. I reckon early 30s got the the strap, late (update) 30s had handles... And thats my two cents...

Hardly, its for a ke55, so at most its 30 years old. Not worth that much, find em on ebay for 10 bucks

Check you gearbox mounts, the rubber bit. if its broken, can cause funny noise. Had the same thing in my car.

I think, that the early ke30s (pre 77), came in 'L' and 'SE'. The L being the pov pack, eg no radio/demister etc. The SE (mine is one) came with radio etc. The late 30s (post 77) came in SE and CS, with the SE being the pov pack eg vinyl seats etc. The CS was the new upper class model, cloth seats!!!!. Thats my understanding of it anyway...
