I really enjoyed my first time at the Nationals. Show and shine was great, shame bout the crappy weather. We had joked that we would break the drought, and everywhere we went it poured! Anyway, I'll let the pics tell the story...

There is the Toyota nationals over easter. But bit of a problem, it is in Dubbo NSW.....bit of a drive...

Toyoglide 2 speed auto. Was found in corollas from ke10 to early ke30s.

If you pull the wire off the fuel tank sender unit, and earth it, get someone to check (while you earth it) if the gauge goes all the way to full. If it does, then its you sender unit. Ditto your temp sender in the engine. Earth the wire, and if it goes straight to hot, its the sender.

Why not? As said if its in good nick, and its been serviced, i say go for it. Ive taken my ke30 from Canberra, to sydney, cooma, southern highlands, all at least a 200km round trip. Used a bit of oil, but thats it.

Excuse the crappy phone pics. But as you can see, no rust! Its got a bit of surface rust inside the guard, but thats it. Also AMI build plate says june 1969, not 68.

I thought that a ke10-b was just an update before the 11 came in. My ke10-b has the later dash/tail llights, AMI badge, but jap diff.

Flynns wreckers, just west of cooma. An amazing place, but he can be a bit hit and miss with wanting to sell stuff, and prices. Its been a while since i was there, but there were a few 20s and 30s. My guess is that they are still there! Do a search on Flicker for flynns. Theres a ton of pics on there of all sorts of cars.

Can't believe our luck! My brother just bought a ke10 as a project for us. Its a ke10-B, an update 10, with ke11 dash, but still just a K. Apparantly this car spent time in Tokyo, before being inported into Aus. (Has got AMI badges tho) Lived in Darwin, survived cyclone Tracy, although a tree went thru the windscreen and smashed up the dash. Then was shipped to Adelaide, before coming to canberra about 25 years ago. We spotted this car no more then 500 meters from mum and dads house, out front, under a gum tree. The owers were going to sent it to the crusher, we saved it with only a few days to spare! AND we got it for $200!!!!!!!!!! This is about all the rust on the car. Its pretty straight, just poor paint!

Keep an eye on the for sale thread. Also they come up on ebay from time to time (dashes and mirrors). Also try places like 'Aussie junk' and 'revolve'. They sometimes have car parts there. You just gotta keep an eye out.

Theres a stack of places in Dubbo to stay. A few caravan parks, hotels motels etc etc. Looks like the way to go :|
