-
looking good mate, keep up the good work and the pics.

hi guys just a little update on the rolla, the interior is nearly all done. engine mounts have been re done as they were too solid for my likeing. Also painted up another set of chasers as my track rims on which ill put a set of Dunlop slicks that i scored of a mate. Next on the list is 4.11 diff gears and a detroit tru trac mechanical Lsd. enjoy !
-
Thanks mate thats a great compliment.
-
Painted rotors holding up ok so far, I'm thinking when i finally get it on to the track they wont last long.

Hi guys, just thought id post an update on the rolla. Interior is nearly done just waiting on carpet now which should happen soon. finally put my sun visor on which gives daisy a more old skool look. managed to break the standard S2K tail shaft joint , luckaly it comes off easy and was an easy fix. looking into something stronger atm. they use uni joints in the states so might go that way. it took a 9000rpm flat change into second to brake the carrier bearing but its a weak link in the drive line in a standard s2k as the bearing cage brakes into pieaces and bearing try to exit the housing. check out pics ! enjoy.

radrollaz replied to sr_twincam's topic in Rollaclub Rides
I like your caldina mate, ive got one exactly the same and I'm loving it more and more each day great cars. Wish i had a sunroof though. Mine is stock except for 18inch bbs lm's ,gt4 brakes all round and bc coilovers. -
Hi mate i use dupont paint, its cob clear over base coat and i mixed a few silvers i had lying around and got that colour. There is a colour called fine alluminium which looks great for engine blocks etc.

Looks great, loving the progress so far.

I'm running commodore in tank fuel set up with walbro pump. Only light i have on is engine check light which i have to get scanned and cleared. The bar underneath is part of a custom caltrack bar setup not a standard part. Were abouts are you located mate ?

The extractors are made from the original but heavily modifird to fit around the steering box and clear eveything else. They are now 4 into 1 instead of original 4:2:1 and from there its 2 1/2 inch system. One of the guys in my club made them and the whole exhust system including a few other bits also. I'm running standard computer with standatd engine harness just lenghtend in a few areas so i could route it a different way and neaten it up, I'm even using the s2k harness rubber gromet that sits in the firewall

All good mate, will be good to see another rolla running the f20c motor. If you have any questions I'm happy to help i took heaps of pics of my conversion along the way. Also good to see you bought a front cut as i used heaps of the honda bits. Standard s2k booster and master cylinder bolt in with a little help from a hammer. Thats 1inch bore to suit your brakes better and i also used s2k accelerator pedal assebley and cable.
-
Looks good mate, loving the brakes. Keep those pics coming !
-
Oh yeah ! Thanks guys
-
I never really gave them much thought until i had a good look at one. Not a big fan of the kooki front end but luckaly my good mate has a front cut and has offered to give me a standard front end that look better.
-
Thanks guys, ill try and get kev to post a vid up soon of 1/4 mile pass. True that phil i don't waste time thats for sure, i have to sort out a few bits first before heading to the creek again but ill be runing MT street slicks this time hopeing to run a low 13 if possible. Ill keep you posted

Hi just a few recent pics of daisy out and about. Fitted some dress rims which give her more old skool appeal also went and seen the guys at shannons and took care of insurance also got her engineerd and legal and stoped in at eastern creek on the way home. Best time on street tyres 14 flat 100mph . I know its got a high to mid 13 in it but I'm still getting use to the vtec and how to drive it properly. Next ill be looking into changing diff ratios from 3.7 to 4.11 like a standard s2k. Stay tuned as she goes in for a re trim in the next few weeks.Thought id put up a few pics of my new daily toyota caldina, never gave them much credit till i got one. Awd turbo and comfortable too !
-
that is a very impressive car mate, keep those pics coming. engine bay please !
-
looking great Matt, havent read your thread in a while as ive been flat out on mine but i just had a look and lovin the pics. very neat mate ! interested to see how those gtir quads preform always wonderd why more people don't run them. keep those pics coming.

it handels really well just too low in the rear. the front has a custom 26mm sway bar which helps. only thing letting it down are the tyres which you can feel flexing around a corner.
-
oh yeah ! that would be cool.
