For any of you considering a 4AGE into KE30/KE55 engine swap, I found out the other day which engine mounts you should use (as I had to replace mine). What you want are either Ford Cortina ones. Now, there are at least two types available. One type has a thickness of 37mm, the other is 39mm thick. The 39mm thick one is also used on a Land Rover. The other measurements are shared by each type of mount. I got the 37mm ones, but I know of someone using 39mm ones, but there's obviously not a huge difference. In case your engine is mounted too low with these mounts, there are two other types available, one to suit Jaguar, and one to suit Volvo. Both of these had the same shared measurements as the two mentioned previously, however the Jaguar ones are about 42mm thick, and the Volvo ones were about 47mm thick. I'm not certain of these measurements, but to verify, just go to your local spare parts dealer and ask to look at their engine mounts book of part listings. Hope this is helpful to someone. P.S. All mounts mentioned have 10mm spline thickness, and 70mm diameter.

Pretty much anything can enter lapsprints. The brake lights have to work, and nothing can be leaking. You have to have working seat belts, but aside from those things, there's not much else. As to Improved Production, I'm not sure of NAMSC's rules. I know that the CAMS rules (which NAMSC doesn't follow too closely) state that you can't use a car that wasn't sold in Australia (like the KP61), and there are engine restrictions (but you could use a 4AGTE, it'd just have to have an air restrictor I think). And yes, I somehow got Allan and Phil confused. I should have remember Allan was Shane's brother as I went to primary school with both of them, but then again, that was nine years ago...

They're not THAT expensive. About the same cost as the 2VZ conversion I would think. Plus it'd be lighter and faster, but wouldn't stand out as much as 3VZ or 5VZ conversion (which'd cost even more again).

Skip the 2VZ-FE. Go the 3VZ-FE (3.0L V6 Camry motor, VERY available) or the 5VZ-FE (3.4L V6 Prado motor). Use the gearbox from the 2VZ-FE, as I would think it'd bolt up to either motor, and suddenly you have a very gutsy car. 2VZ-FE - 159HP 3VZ-FE - 190-200HP 5VZ-FE - 190HP (but better torque) Or you could be boring and do the 3S-GTE conversion, but why not stand out from the crowd?

It'd be great if you could get those guys to join up. Leonard is already a member, his username is DEEONE. I'll plan a cruise once we've got a few more members, but I know that neither Lenny or I will be able to drive our Corollas as we don't have them registered. So my Galant will have to be an honourary Corolla. I think that would make it a 6E89 according to Toyota's coding system. Does Phil have a brother, Shane, who works at Darwin Honda? If that's the case, then a mate of mine mentioned him to me just today. As to entry at the racing on the 29th, it will be $5 spectator fee as usual, plus about $70 if you want to race in the lapsprints (same cost if you want to drift, extra if you want to do both). I wouldn't drift AND do the lap-sprints as your tyres will be shot to pieces and you will experience engine and brake overheating problems (just in case you were considering it). I WILL BE RACING!!! (Yay!) I have put one new engine mount in my car, will do the other tomorrow night, and will put the gearbox in on Saturday. Then I'm going in a motorkhana (in my fiancee's Starlet) on Sunday, then Sunday the 29th I finally go racing again! Man my weekends are going to be good for the next two weeks. If only I didn't have to work in the mornings... :sad:

BTW Sirolla, I noticed in the People + Rides + Faces forum you commented that you had 13's :sad: . Well, I've got a set of 5 14-inch rims (from a ZZE122, I think) and a set of 5 15-inch rims (I don't know which Toyota from), that I'd be happy to sell you for a bargain basement price. I reckon either set would fit your car. They are Bridge Autos rejects (someone obviously bought some alloys for their new car). They don't have tyres, but I thought you might be interested.

Looks like my bribery tactic is working :) Okay Sirolla & LILRKT, you are the first two winners of stickers. Yay! Only one more to go though, so spread the word. Sirolla, as to your problem with finding fellow Corolla drivers, there are quite a few around (check out the earlier forum on Corolla's around Darwin for examples). The only problem seems to be getting word to these owners. DEEONE, who is also a member of Rollaclub, knows quite a few Rolla drivers, with very nice cars, but no internet access. We will be trying to spread word to them via word of mouth whenever we have meets or cruises. None planned yet, but I figure I'll organise one as soon as we've got 20 members in the NT. For now the only thing planned is for as many of us as possible to meet up on Sunday 29 May at the race meet at Hidden Valley.

McLaren F1. Three seats, so there's enough room for me and all my mates (both of them :)). Oh yeah, and the acceleration and performance aren't too shabby either. :)

Thanks Jamie (& Gr3mlin for asking in the first place), as I think you might've helped me solve a problem I've had with my 4AGZE. Over certain rpm it seemed to lose power. I had been using Shell Premium Unleaded, but I've heard that it is only 95 octane. Now I'll have to get myself some BP Ultimate and run a tank of it through Lola to see if that helps. Only problem is I won't be able to use a shopping discount voucher. :sad:

Would be good up slippery steep hills as the extra grip would be of great benefit. I imagine going downhill would be improved as well.

Just on the topic, I plan on putting some pretty wild cams in my motor (much later down the track when I suddenly become rich :dry: ). I'm thinking 304 intake and 288 exhaust with a bigport head. I'd take the redline out to 9000rpm, meaning that the supercharger would start making 15psi boost, but I was going to leave the compression ratio stock (8.9:1). Does anyone have any idea if this would work, or would the comp. ratio be too low for me to be able to get the engine to get up to those rpm?

So it's running 9.4:1 compression and 10psi boost? You've just captured my interest. Has it been setup that way for long??? The bigport head would also be an advantage. It's pretty much all my engine's missing (I've got AE101-spec 4AGZE). Either a bigport 16 valve or a 20 valve, that is :)

Curious. Suzuki or Yamaha (can't remember which) are actually releasing or have already released a two-wheel drive 2-wheel bike. I don't know if it's full-time 2WD (AWD) though. I think it's Yamaha, and it's a dirt bike, not a sports bike or even a cruiser.
