Not 100% but you may want the tailshaft aswell. It could come in handy if you do end up making a custom one? Anyone else know?
-
I would suggest a TA22 diff as if I remember correctly it should be the same width as the KE30 stock one. You might not need a custom tailshaft either, but I may be able to hook you up with a custom one :bash: Best bet to find one . . . U Steal It or Sleeka Spares. U Pull it . . . around $100 I think, Sleeka Spares would be around $150 plus I think. You could always install it yourself, it isn't all that hard. Otherwise take it to a mechanic and they should be able to do the job for you Cheers Fusion

No drift practices for a good month. And the Royal show is around the start of September. So maybe look at a date within the next month, with at least a couple weeks notice for people?

Pm'ed :S

Go Karting sounds like an awesome idea. Maybe ring up and see what 'package deals' there are for multiple people. Considering people are busy on Saturdays, how about a Sunday arvo??

I have a 60GB limit now due to that reason. And we (my brother and I) still use the majority of that :fuzz: I have found Internode to be great, although had a couple of issues with their technicians :P

Looks like a nice starting point at least :hmm: Does it only go to 90 kmp/h or were you just not willing to push it anymore? :)

Nice KE30 . . . for the engine idea try a 2TG out of the TA22 Celicas. Good for smokies and commodores. You will need a TA22 gearbox, diff and tailshaft for it though. And you might aswell upgrade your front brakes at the same time so take that into consideration.

DJ Tiesto: Awesome for your chill stuff, but does have some good tonage to him aswell as. Ministry of Sound: Well they cover alot of stuff. From Hardcore to your chillout beats (great for after work) Prodigy, Crystal Method and Chemical Brothers: All similar (dare I say that), but I am hoping you get me  ATB, 4 Strings, Arman Van Buuren: All kind of Euro Pop-ish. Can be chillout, can be a little bit of remixing, nothing to hardcore but its decent Pendulum: We all know them for D n B . . . that WILL get your subwoofer going :D Infected Mushroom, Deviant Spices, Kok Box : Psy trance . . . something a little tripper, but gets the bass going when its built up Gatecrasher: Kind of similar to Hed Kandy and Ministry of Sound in the sense that they can very in the types of dance, but aims at the harder styles more than anything. Good if your into it Daft Punk: Hopefully you know Around the World! Theres lots more, but thats just a taste . . . Enjoy, Fusion

If you like I am pretty sure Sleeka Spares also sell RA60 diffs. I am need of an upgrade myself, so if you like I will ask them how much it will cost. They might even pull it out for you :D My mechanic told me he has a contact for creating a custom diff for me, but it will cost me around $500 with both the KE30 diff and the upgraded diff

So . . . . ITS RUNNING. We put on the stock carby manifold complete and it still didn't go right. Than a random thought came up in discussion . . . . lets reverse the polarity of the dizzy. And guess what . . . all the di**ing around didn't need to be done :P Even funnier news though. First time out on the streets . . . and as it was given a little stick turning the corner back into the workshop and the diff blew! Sun gears where shattered So today was spent replacing the diff. So no more load for the diff until it is upgraded. I am thinking T Series from a TA22 with swaybar mounts . . . but I will see how it all goes. Need some more cash first. Also thinking of running a 36/38 DGAV (or whatever it is . . ) instead of the twin Webers, but we will see how loud its going to sound. As much as I love it, it was really hard last night trying to stay quiet around any hot spots :S Cheers Fusion

Glad to see this has come along :P But the video doesn't work :D

Hmm I will take that into consideration than :) However I am having some problems. To get the engine running we have to make it way advanced, which doesn't give us any revs at all. The mechanic tried all kinds of tricks up his sleeve, but nothing wants to make it any better (he even took the death axe to my Weber manifold and dizzy :( ) So we have both given up for the time being until I find some stock 3TC parts. We will go back to a basic motor setup and work our way from there as the only explanation we can think of is that the Webers have been sitting for over 6 months and might not be playing right. However when we did have it sitting there running it was a nice feeling to hear it firing through the exhaust . . . . until it gave a massive backfire through the exhaust :)

Yeah I am . . . do you recommend an upgrade to a Holley Blue / Red? Or something else? I think one of the Rally guys has a couple lying around knowing him.

So the cars back. Its cranking and turning over, but its not actually . . . whats the word . . . going 'broom'? We put a air hose in the fuel tank and bleed the fuel system of all air. Took parts of the Weber apart to check the fuel was being delivered and it wasn't running dry. Also made sure all the fuel lines in the engine bay had no air in them. There is spark, so that isn't a problem either. One thing where still guessing is the timing on the dizzy though, could this affect it? If anyones got a suggestion let me know as I am open to try and get this running.

You could always weld on a hydraulic clutch to your original pedal box, drill a hole, and connect up the master cylinder. Its what I did in my KE30 and done it to an RA40 :lolcry:

Well it would probally first be a good idea to decide what direction your taking this car to. Figure out what kind of engine your putting in, what the engine would weigh roughly and roughly how much power you expect to come from it. Secondly I am guessing you would want this as a legal conversion? If so you would want to ring up your local transport group or engineer and find out what would need to be done to your car for it to work. If WA is anything like SA, a K series engine would be a simple swap of the number and unless your getting it worked, there probably isn't much point to upgrading to a different setup. Maybe change the rotors to a slotted and vented and rebuild the calipers, but you probably don't need much more. If your going 4AGE than you might want to look into AE86 struts as it would probably be necessary to make the car legal handling wise. So first decide where your going, second figure out the information behind it, than build a list of what s needed and roughly how much it will all end up costing you before you start doing small things that might not necessarily work together or might not be needed in the end. Cheers Fusion

If your car is for the track why not looking into coilovers? Adjustable shocks from Koni / KYB, Cusco camber tops. Use your from swaybar along with maybe a strut brace? Stiffen up the rear leaves by having them reset and maybe and in an extra leaf? All ideas

Flexplate, flywheel and clutch all bolt onto the back of the motor if i remember correctly. You may need a clutch aligner tool otherwise I don't think the gearbox will slide on properly. You may want to check gearbox oil levels aswell as it will probally drain out the rear from having no tailshaft in.
-
For manual conversion you will need at least: - Manual gearbox (sounds like you have this) - Pedal box for clutch pedal - Master cylinder (links up with the clutch pedal) - Slave cylinder (could already be on the gearbox) - Tailshaft (the auto tailshaft may be fine, not 100%) - Flywheel and clutch plate That should be the main of it I think. Swapping engines should be pretty easy. One idea I just had, if you want to make things easier and not forget what goes where, get a roll of white tape. Than take a black texta and mark every line (electrical, oil, fuel, etc) so that way it might make it easier for you to attach them again :) Besides that make sure you have radiator coolant, engine oil and any other service parts like spark plugs or oil filter.

Good to see your enthusiasm for the car. I was hoping the person who bought this would put it to good use :lolcry:
-
Cheers for the comment, it's not a fancy engine, especially compared to 2TG's and 18RG's (which are both teasing my engine at the workshop), but it will be alot better than the 3K that was in it :lolcry:

Hmm well I thought I would dig up this thread for a little update as it is near completion. Engine is sorted with 2" extractors and 40mm Webers. Managed to clear the brake booster with the use of custom ram tubes at 16mm. Still have no air filter though. Radiator has been customized with the top port moved and the bottom port has also been moved. Water pump bolts were shortened to shortest possible fitting so a thermo fan could be fitted without a problem (still a tight fit though). Exhaust has been all fitted aswell with a 2" exhaust pipe to a "Supercat" sports muffler at the rear. The dizzy had pretty much no movement at all thanks to the Weber manifold, so a customized timing tool was machined up, that goes into the side of the dizzy and gripes onto the plate so it can be tuned properly without conflict issues. It is currently at the auto electricians being re-wired as there was a few exposed wires that wasn't meant to be played around with. Hopefully the car shall be running next week . . . and when it is there shall be a dyno video hopefully :lolcry: Cheers Fusion

When keyboards get a bit older or they have drinks spilled into them it can usually stiffen up the keyboard making it harder to type fluently. Just buy a new one. Microsoft ones for around $40 are pretty good and do the job well with shortcut buttons for media functions. (nerd nerd nerd nerd . . . ) I replaced my keyboard recently because keys started to stop functioning . . . mainly the valves :lolcry:

Its pretty easy. Weld on a clutch pedal and drill a hole. Get a master cylinder and that should be about it. In a KE55 you would want a mid-mounted shifter point gearbox from a TA22 if possible :D
