  1. i'm half out. after looking over the van i have found a few things that are worrying enough to no not drive anywhere near a twisty bit of road until they are sorted (stuffed shocks, threaded wheels studs, brake fluid leaks, ect). i'll come to say hi at the first meet point but thats all i'm comfortable doing.
  2. lmao. i'm trying to imagine it now. should i break out the candy paint an airbrush end end up with something like this?
  3. i'll see how i go. i'm not fussed with the size at the moment but if there is a problem with the rust around them then i'll just cut to the bigger stock size.
  4. nah. they are staying on. i do however have another pair that i was going to put on the 20 but decided to go for a more sporty look. are you going to be back at your dad's place tomorrow? we can work something out then.
  5. this should be the debut even for the new van.
  6. unsure what's happening with the tow bar atm. i'll need that trim, half of mine is missing an the other half is siliconed in. :glare: we'll see what is happening with the windows. they aren't stock and have just been cut in badly. lots of rust around them. if i need to fix that for roady then i'll just cut bigger holes and put the big glass in.
  7. and i'm super happy you did. shocks are on the list, i'll see what i can grab from all the cars floating around your place. and i think i like the panno dash more than a tacho one. it's just so utilitarian with the vinyl floor, speed/hot/fuel cluster, am radio. it doesn't even have a door on the glove box. this is super base spec. i think even the seats are vinyl under the covers(forgot to check).
  8. that'd be angelo that was fast on the phone. price wasn't ono, they had too many people interested in it. :P if i remember correctly there was a little rust in the leading edge of the bonnet frame and along the base of the doors but nothing had bubbled through to the outer skin. the only thing i can think of right now that i'll need is a drivers side headlight trim but i'm sure as i go along and clean it up on sunday that list will get bigger. as for future plans doogs, nothing. mechanically it's staying stock 4k/4speed. the suspension will be a 1.5 in drop at most if at all. might get a few cosmetic additions but this one is going to remain stock. it's just easier that way. plus, with this stock i can put more performance stuff in the 20. :D
  9. spotted a ke11 on denmark street at about 10:30 yesterday morning. in grey primer, red wheels, plates KE1970. not sure if it was anyone from here.
  10. don't worry, these will stay. just got to work out what to 'decorate' them with.
  11. loving the early horn-ring wheel. keep up the good work troy.
  12. haha. yep. all credit to you for finding this one. wouldn't have found it otherwise.
  13. picked up this beauty today with bAKER. 1982 ke70 panno. white. 4spd manual, 280,000kms on the clock. has only done about 800kms in the past year so everything is a bit stiff but she's slowly loosening up. will not have the chrome bars much longer. have sold them for nearly the cost of the car. plan is just to have it on club registration and have it ship shape for the vic members GOR run at the end of january. no tents for me! will have more detailed pics and information once i get a good look over it after new years. just wanted to spread the excitment now.
  14. white, sorry.
  15. i was down at centre road today. two ke70s, both stuffed. three ke3/5x, two coupes, one 4 door. two ms85 crowns, one ms4X. one old corona (don't know the chassis code but the shovel nose one). one ae82 tin can seca. wasn't that much else worth nothing.
  16. just went with dad to drop off his car at the workshop. nearly died when i saw this DB5 vantage superleggera. spent about 20 mins just standing and looking.
  17. not wanting to nit pick but is a police officer on the side of a road going to pick a 1mm difference in secondary diameters?
  18. and the award for tease of the year goes to...
  19. i got mine first time but i'm surprised i did. i stalled twice on the test because i was unfamiliar with the car(RAVC instructors pulsar). my dad works for vic roads and tells me that the test should take 45mins. when he saw me heading back into the car park after 25 mins he thought i had failed. he got talking to the tester afterwards and the tester said even tough i stalled the car twice he could see that it was only unfamiliarity with the car and that my driving was heaps better than 90% of the people that they test. a lot of it has to do with the tester being comfortable(a proper dual control car helps a lot here) and your attitude. stay calm, relax and don't get too caught up on the little mistakes.
  20. hmmm. in my list of engine codes it just says that B is for twin carb and doesn't specify side or down draft. :hmm:
  21. ok, so i found this in the internet and it has messed with my mind. i don't remember much of my high school maths so i asked a friend who did specialist maths and he was as confused as i am. i'm now seeking the help of the rollaclub brains trust to try and explain to me how this does or doesn't work.
  22. 4A-GB. i like it.
  23. it doesn't look like i'm going to have the corolla anywhere near presentable for this. looks like i'll be coming down the the cressi and hiding it off to one side. :sob:
  24. wow. i'm going to guess you'll be in a different car for sunday. two day engine conversion is a tall order. i will however be very impressed if you do pull it off. i wouldn't be worried about the rust on the quads, thats how you know they are genuine toyota. :P
