  1. heres my most recent update. My 2TG head are finally done with the port and polish job, 3mm port and polish on exhaust and intake, 90 grit on intake and exhaust are smooth. the racing valves had a 5 angle valve job and installed along with the racing 10k double RPM prings, Phosphorus Bronze valve guides, Titanium retainers, washers, valve keepers, and valve seals. the head has been decked out to minimum also.
  2. Hey what's good my fellow toyota-fans ^_^. Sorry I've been so busy with other project which is my Ford Van. I have made only few progress with her... I will post some pics tomorrow.
  3. Thanks mate. I've been driving my ta22 here in USA for more than 2 years now and I'm used to driving lhd and rhd. Driving a rhd here in the uUS state for the first time was quiet hard tho as I admit. You got many good cars, trade all yours for mine ^_^. I've gone through many things to get my ta22 and to make it the way it is now, and it isn't even being close to finish product... This is my sweat, tears, and blood. One thing of advice, choose one project and let it be the only one of your dream, otherwise, nothing can be accomplished with many obsticles. I have sacrificed my other rides just to build the only one. do you have a project thread of your TA22?
  4. Starting to look better, JDM look.
  5. yes indeed my friend, i have a set just for your ride. A complete set of 4, one is slightly damaged due to piece cracked off about a coin size, a fiberglass can repair it because the flares are fiberglass to begin with.
  6. awsome ride.... it reminds me of my te37 which i miss dearly. need some te37 flaires?
  7. alright, very nice motor of choice my good man  , you and I are building something similar but I'm going 2tg turbo route. I'm just a little speachless about the 18rg going inside a corolla when it was meant to T motor such as 2tg/3tgte... anyhow, I'm happy to see that its still powered by one of the good ol classic twin cam motor there. looking forward for more progress mate.
  8. wow, you must have build a mean machine back then, i love stories like that. I'm just aming to rev up to 8.5k RPM with the turbo spooling to max of 30 PSI and rocketing on the freeway of 150 Miles per hour or 241.4 Kilometers per hour.
  9. I'm liking those flaires on her, you just need 9 inch wide wheels to make her look real hard.
  10. well ive received some parts for my motor, only thing now is the shims... i can't get the shims yet because the shims can only be determined after all the head parts be put together for gap clearance of the cams. 2TG over size valves 2TG race Phosphorus Bronze valve guides. 2TG Titanium retainers (10g) 2TG valve spring washers 2TG race valve seals my 2TGEU head are in the process of being ported and polished and getting a 5 angle valve job, then it will be bench flow tested picked up an ORIGINAL 3TGTE long block for my build, I'm only after the lower part of the block and build it with all internal racing parts. this block will be mated with my fully built 2TG. since i got the block that i really wanted to mate with my 2tg head, I'm on the move of buying bottom end racing parts. Billet Steel main caps I have also reupholstered my interior to super white, very nice to look at and very comfy inside. i tired to keep the original styling but yet modern look. I upgraded my front suspension to coilovers, made out of MK2 toyota MR2 strut casing and AE86 toyota corolla hubs.
  11. heres my model plate engraved on the fire wall inside my engine bay. in 1974 or late 1973, japan started to make a proto-type ta22 coupes with ta27/ra25 from end, these type celicas were very special because these were the beginning of the flat nosed celica. these ta22 models lasted till late 1975 or early 1976. heres some youtube videos from japan of other ta22 S49 celica 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW_M__eth2E 2)
  12. :hmm: well then in that case ta22 it is :lolcry: , thats why i said in the 2nd posting " i don't know about there is AUS" cause those TE mentioned above, i want sure if they were released there.
  13. I was reffering to 71-78 corolla model TE27/TE21/ TE28/ TE31/TE37, and TE35? .... As well as TA22 or TA27.
  14. same diffrence as the corolla 71-78 :jamie:
  15. :bash: very kool K motor there mate.... its the first ive seen supercharged one in my life, in pictures that is.... :(
  16. yes, 2tc come in 5 speed sometimes..... don't know about there in AUS. its called the early T50 tranny, look for 71-78 toyota corolla tranny for the right shifter location. t50 tranny from 79-83 fits but the shifter has moved back about 3 inches towards the rear.
  17. have you ever thought about cross breeding the 2tc head with the 3tc block? this combination are widely used here in USA for performance due to better compression. if your going DIE HARD 2tc/3tc motors... check out this web site BRDRACING.COM . lots of parts available to beef up your needs out of those motors. i had a 13t "hemi" motor before, its another breed of the rare TC toyota motor family... those kicks a$$ :bash:
  18. well thanks mate :bash: . i can't wait for the finish product my self either, 8 more years to go till completion due date. i guess different people got different taste with things, unique.
  19. wow its been a long time i havent done to her because the economy here in the USA has gone bad over the past, now its good. I have bought another 2TG VIRGIN head ( never been rebuilt) and it arrive to me just few days back from japan. i didnt have time to take pictures and take measurement of the stock ports before i took it to a machine shop for port and polish work. i will post pics when i receive the head in few weeks.
  20. well done, very imformative write-up you did. maybe you should have your knowledge write-up somewhere posted, id like to learn more of the things you know although i know some already :lolcry:
  21. Very true! if lotus wasn't so expensive, I'd buy one to rock the toyota power. I think there's a reason why toyota did this, for reasonable price range for sports car but sacrifices the originality of TRD with subaru.
  22. theres a few SR20DET 1st gen celica here. very powerful drivetrain... but never Ca18DET yet, so far this is the first :) whats the progress
  23. Hahahaha your so blunt with your thoughts lol.
  24. This is the All New Toyota Celica 8th gen. http://www.7tune.com/toyotasubaru-lightweight-sports-car/ http://www.topspeed.com/cars/subaru/2010-s...pe-ar57319.html I think its kinda wacked but something new is good sometimes. I suppose toyota is aiming to compete with mitsubishi evo's and Subaru WRX's, although the new toyota celica is in project with subaru. *sorry if this in the wrong section, tried posting it in the news section, please move if its in the wrong spot.
  25. Unfortunately, I ran out of funds this summer for this year so I'm gonna hold my project on pause :). Probably my next thing on my list is doing the suspension upgrade or finishing up the motor built plan.... I've been doing lots of things that leaves me with unfinished stuff.
