  8. Bought this KE16 wagon from Leon Edwards in Melbourne about 5 years ago. The car was in pretty good condition when I got it. The only thing I have done is changed the motor to a 5K, and still running a 2 speed auto.Put the mags on a year ago,the car is entered for Motor Fest in Sydney, Australia day 2011. Hope to see you all there.
  9. This is my KE 15 Sprinter restored in 1999 started with a 5K 5 speed changed to a 7K in 2004 the car has been shown in 5 NRMA Motorfests on Australia day in Sydney the car has been driven to all of these eventa and in order to help with the economy the diff ratio has been changed to a 3.55-1 this resulted in the vehicle running at approx 3000 rpm at 110km per hour. This combination of the 7K and hi ratio diff makes the car a very usable vehicle.
  10. This was my mothers car bought for her brand new in 1969. Car is still in the family and has original 81,000 miles on clock. She drove the car until 1990 when it was passed on to me. The car is featured in many shows and the "Australian" news paper. This was the start of my collection. Rolou.
  11. Hi, The first thing to do before you move or cut anything is to find the centrepoint of your firewall i.e. (measure between left and right guard and halve). then measure between the centre of the engine to the outside i.e. to either fuel injection manifold or carby air cleaner. It will give you some idea what's in the road of your engine (brake or clutch cylinder etc. Probably a look is worth a thousand words so give Mark a ring on 0450 241 110. Cheers Lou
  12. Hi, just reading your comments on fitting the 3TGEU I take it you experts have been through this exercise yourself. With the front pulley against the swaybar you cannot get your fingers down the back of the firewall unless you have a magic shoehorn. Admittedly we fitted an automatic to Marks panelvan and would have had to cut the floor anyway as this car was a manual and unless you are fitting this gearbox to a automatic floorpan youwill have to do the same. You stated that they came out standard in USA unfortunatly their brake system is on the left hand side and you have to move the mastercylinder to the right to clear the fuel injection etc.I'll still say it is not an easy job. Cheers Lou
  13. hi fitting a 3tgeu into a ke 20 is not easy my son in law mark just finished a ke 16 p van there is a lot of firewall and floor cutting etc look it up he is a rola club member cheers lou
  14. Hi, It is a very simple conversion to a 7K. Flywheel clutch. gearbox , bolt straight in. The difference is the motor is taller and you must cut the sump to fit over over the x member. I have been running one in my KE15 for 3 years with no problems with sprinter twin carbys. Hope this will help. Cheers Lou
  15. badge could be off a mercedes sprinter van cheers lou

  16. Hi, I have a auto gearbox complete from a 7K van, has torque converter , flywheel and pipes will bolt to any K motor, has done 24k. Motor is in my sprinter. Price $500 ex brisbane cheers Lou
  17. Hi Anthony, I have done several auto to manual and vice versa conversions. The tailshaft from your automnatic has the right spline for a KE55 or KE70 5speed. Both gearboxes bolt straight up with a clutch plate change. These tailshafts have the circlip on the universal joints on the outside You can get a tailshaft to suit a 4speed KE10. the only thing to be careful of KE10 has a Japanese diff or a borg warner[plate at the rear] and the pinion flange are different sizes. If you go to a KE70 5 speed you will have to space the backmounting down about 2 1/2 cm to get floor clearance. Cheers, Lou
  18. Hi hayden I have fitted 7K to my KE15 sprinter and the simplest way is to cut a small section from the sump. The 7K is a wider block and also taller and no other sump fits make a cardboard template from bottom of block to crankshaft at lowest point reverse it, use this measurement for the depth of the sump. big port manifold fits straight on and if you slot the thermostat housing you can still use the original 2K cheers Lou
