  1. Absolute bargain! Well done mate. That grille looks pretty good. Be sure to take lots of pics once the work begins.

saw a silver 35/55 coupe darting down a side street near the bay off Brighton Road at around 2:45pm today. Was on my way home from oggling some monsters at the Porsche show on Wigley Reserve at the end of Anzac Hwy. Over 100 Porsche's in one place makes me :lolcry:

Saw soulsearcher yesterday at about 1pm heading East on Cross Rd. At least I think it was her car, may have been the stunt double that is getting around now.

Was up at Murray Bridge last night for the Speedway and spotted the following Rolla on the way through. Also spotted a few in the junior sedans class of the speedway. 30's and 50's I guess they were.
  5. Hey Ken there is one for sale on the forum here...... 4 Door KE10 For Sale - Qld Back on track nzke10, I don't think anyone thinks these cars are lame.... personally I would love a 4 door because they are so rare. If you have the know how and/or funds to have this restored I think it would be well worth the effort. Great looking little start to a project. Pity about the tunnel as you say but surely this can be sorted fairly easily. My vote..... go all original with maybe a slightly upgraded 4 or 5k motor.
  6. Yep you're on the right track mate. Good stuff. There is actually a wood look stick on type stuff that you can use to do the look you are going for. It's available from Bunnings and my mate used it to do a flash trim feature on the side of his Beetle. It however is difficult to work with and is not overly pliable, but it may be worth a shot. By the way..... I agree with the comments that the rims you have on there could look super cool with the style you are aiming for........ keep us updated mate...... this particular project stirs something in me.

Yep I spotted you on Anzac about 6pm on Friday night as well. You were heading city bound between Greenhill Road and West Tce and I almost stacked my car into the back of a Statesman swinging my head around. Sweet looking 25 mate!
  8. Congrats on the new purchase. Certainly looks the goods and has some nice mods happening. My question is....... What made you sell the Caldina? I have been considering one of these as a daily simply because they are still rare, especially here in SA. I was looking at Stagea's but all of a sudden they seem to be everywhere. Did you have any probs with the Caldina? Any idiosyncrasies of the car I should know about?
  9. The correct answer is number 3. Get on the Retro Rides forum if you need any inspiration. Few lads over in the UK have gone with this style on various vehicles and if done well fair looks the dogs bollocks yeh. Dead set mate....... Black or Purple would be nice......... but done........... you know what to do. Even if you don't go with the wire wheels......... just some widened steelies with a set of flappers would look ace. Will dig up some pics for you for inspiration when I get a chance.

Saw a total Poppa-mobile KE20 this morning at about 7:15 am heading north on South Road in Edwardstown. White, totally unmodified..... not low, no venetian, no whitewalls........ blank canvas...... looked good and I want it!
  11. I don't even wanna ask if you are bringin' sexy back :P

Bahahahaha............. There are a few nice Esev's around but generally I don't even notice them.

Yep that was defo it. Now it has turned up here: RA28GT's Old Yella 20 - New Forum Member Has It

    Ke20

Ahhhhhhhhh........ so that's where RA28GT's car ended up. Good stuff mate. Keep us all posted. You bought that yellow 20 off a guy in Sydney that bought it from a guy here in Adelaide. He didn't have it long though.
  15. I was only telling a mate last week how much I love those X19's and then you show up with this super cool weapon. Would love to see some outdoor pics of it when you get a chance. Go the Fiyota... or is it a Toyiat???

    My Ke20

Can't say anything that hasn't been said. This is a sweet ride. Lovin' the pipes but if you are rollin on the street with them on then you are taking a big yellow birdie risk. Adelaide is defo cranking some awesome Rolla's....... would love to see this car up close and personal.
  17. This is correct in Bay to Birdwood terms. Next year cars pre 1960 can be involved in the Vintage run.
  18. mmmmmmm................ Twins! Hey great work on the 11 Tommy. Wish I had your grille.
  19. Hmmm....... thought I had put some up somewhere on here. Well now will have to wait cos I am angry with it cos it's broken. :hmm: My prediction...... 5 more weeks

Saw Yoda69's yellow 11 in the SMASA Show'n'Shine yesterday at Regency Oval. Lookin' good and For Sale.
  21. I will be there in something, most likely the 11. It's a sensational day out and the only chance you get to cruise your car and have thousands of people line the streets and wave to you. I took a couple Rolla pics from the '07 B2B and I wasn't even that into Rolla's then, but these two stood out to me. Bit of a memory for ya benzo.
  22. To be honest I think the car will look front heavy without the boot spoiler. I think it balances the side profile appearance of the car. I would never have put a boot spoiler on a KE70, or any other car for that matter, but I do think it looks good on that car with all the other mods that have been done. I say leave it on baidin2006. :P PS: Still waiting to see a better pic of those rims please and maybe a full side profile shot to get a better feel for the with or without boot spoiler debate.
  23. Hell Yeah! That's well on it's way oke020. Keep the pics coming as you progress.
  24. :2thumbs: I'm always a couple years behind cool. I do have a very sore back and my Rolla ain't even as low as it could be  Bahaha.... that's very model-ist and age-ist....... but I likey and if it's a good 6 weeks off I may even be able to make it myself. :y:
