What a great day! Thanks to every one who came along, we had a really good turn out, mostly Celica's but never the less a great showing from a good cross section of cars. So good in fact, that we won the Best Club award. Amazing given the orientation of the show! Well done all. Photos to follow later

Don't forget this is on tomorrow folks! The early bird catches the worm, or gets in the gates in our case :) See most of you tomorrow.

I think there are much better engines to be mucking around with to go into a Corolla. They are a commercial vehicle engine. They won't like to rev much I suspect.

Where are you from Ryan? Dave's TE27 won a prize for best fitment if I recall correctly. Trophies are pretty hard to get, it was just good fun going. If we are going again we will post the details in the Victorian events section like we do for everything else. Join up on the toymods forum too since it's their show, there is plenty of discussion about it on there.

Hurry up and finish will ya... I want to see the next project out on the road already :)

A number of us from here in Victoria attended last year and its an awesome show. The drive there and back was at least half the fun too.

5 speed would be an upgrade. beyond that the ke70 isnt of much use to you i don't think.

Rodger is a Solex guru - http://www.rmcarburetors.net/ Where are you? There is a good workshop in Moorrabin Victoria that does dyno work on Solexes.

We will lock in Parkmore Shopping Centre as the meet point. Time will be 8.45am, with a departure for the show at 9.15am

importmonster.com.au is the most fun for searching for wheels... not necessarily cheapest way to do it though!

I think you already know what I am going to share, but just in case.... King Springs does springs for the Corona Lists it as KTFL-14 for Front, KTRL-15 for the rear. As you already know this is the same as RA40. The KTFL-14 is also the same spring as the RA23/28 Celica, and to be honest given everything else is so similar chassis wise between rt132 and ra23/28/40, I am surprised the rears are different. Perhaps they are a bit beefier for a bit of extra weight? Not sure this helps your cause though... however I am pretty sure in my shed I have a set of kings front and rear, standard height, to suit RA23. They are taking up space and if you want to start playing "choppies" you are welcome to use them.

Any one got any thoughts on a meet point? I am thinking front carpark of Parkmore Shopping Centre, on Cheltenham Rd, Keysborough, 9am. McDonalds is across the road for those wanting a breakfast hit, and its easy enough to get to off the Eastlink, and about 5 mins to the venue.

I was originally going tomorrow, but bloody Ian gazumped me lol. Looks cool.. we will have to have a movie night when its released so we can all play spotto!

Sorry lads, forgot to post the details from toymods. Cut and pasted from last year's event as it worked well, though hurt cos it was so early. Cruise to the event will depart from the BP northbound at Calder Park, leaving 7.30am sharp! It is always packed out the front as it's the meeting spot for every club going up there, so it has been suggested we meet around the back in the truck parking area. Meet there from 7.00am if you are going to be wanting fuel for your car, or coffee for yourself. We will leave as a group at 7.30am SHARP! This means we are leaving at 7.30am. Not thinking about going to get a coffee or fuel! Stick together as a group, and just after we turn off the freeway we should stop for a regroup and collect everyone to make it easier for entry as a group. If we get separated tell the organising guys you are part of a group and head for the oval, the same place as we have been for a few years now. North East group pre-meet up point - McDonalds Eltham 6am for a 6.30am departure. Cruise to BP Calder to meet rest of the group. Josh - cars that are on a permit are not allowed in to the best of my knowledge. Cars must be registered in some form.

Unfortunately TCCAV's motorkhana ground at Werribee has not recovered from the recent Christmas Day storm, and as a result the practice day will not be going ahead this Sunday 29th January Apologies to any one inconvenienced by this, we do hope to get the ground back up and running as soon as possible.
-
Kinda mates rates.. he did the Celica front and rear seats and fitted moulded carpets for not much much, so I was thinking I was getting stitched up a little :)
-
An excellent question that I am endeavouring to learn the answer to. I have heard on the grapevine that Werribee isn't good after the Christmas storm, being flood plain and all, so its being moved else where. Where else where is, I can't yet say. Keep you posted.

Great day for a drive... morning tea at Black Spur Inn... lunch at Kinglake Pub... and some good driving roads in between. Most random moment of the day - the Vespa club coming down the Spur. Couple of pics And the reason for the cruise.. another RA23 added to the club plate ranks Thanks for organising Brendan, it was great.
-
No one? Any one? Ah well.. we will have a good run with the weather this good!
-
It was a bit dearer that I was hoping. $750 for the front seat and door trims, and the door handles, which took forever apparently because of the compound curves.

Brendan and his Dad from TCCAV have decided to go for a run tomorrow to stretch the legs of their newly club rego'd Celica. We are meeting at 8.30am at Eltham McDonalds, then leaving about 9am for a cruise through the hills/black spur to Narbethong Pub. https://www.facebook.com/events/253525981385407/ is the event link on facebook. Hopefully see a few of you there
