Donuts at Autobarn Epping this Sunday - 8.30am Hopefully a good turn out to this one! -
it be the second tuesday of the month... so its club meeting night tonight... emerald Hotel South Melbourne at 8pm.

you could always run it at a legal road height so you don't attract so much attention from the police.... surely that is just a matter of some different springs?

I have seen some of their work and its pretty good. You wouldn't use it on a concours standard car, but it certainly would be better than some of the rusty sh*t that people have to use.
-
given Corollas are generally not a car stolen for hard to get parts, i am tipping someone needed to get home if you can rustle up some mates, go for a drive around the area, its probably not got far.

Update. Gave the Detomato a run at the vic hillclimb championship round held at broadford motorcycle complex. it was a really fun challenging circuit and i had a ball. With no CAMS log book, I was in a "miscellaneous" class, so I was no where. Had I got it logbooked as Improved Production like I should have, I would have been second in class. Would of, could of, should of! Its the motto of motorsport. Anyways a couple of videos from the new gopro. Soooo much better quality!! Practice Run in the morning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEjzb95HnXk Second run up the hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcUYOXM6jAs My battery went flat for the third and fastest run which is a shame!

I haven't specifically had a KE36, but I reckon you have a problem with your brakes worth looking into. The brakes on my Corollas have been perfectly adequate without resorting to using the gears to stop me.

Ahhh there is interest. Excellent :)

As mentioned, its a very low stress situation. They just want to make sure the chassis number and engine number are correct.

More rolla owners coming than carbonboy i hope?!

Bumping this up - Autobarn meet is not far away. Make sure you are paid up and have your TCCAV membership card with you if you want 20% discount across the store. -
i like the idea of the car still having its books so you can see when it was first bought, by who, where it was sold, etc. becomes more interesting the older the car is. but yes, i guess its nostalgia.

You really should buy a brand new carpet for it. They are cheap as chips and worth every cent!

Have faith in your abilities to put your car together.. I was shitting myself with the Celica for the same reason, and its been just about perfect!

Well any day that is about Japanese cars is a good one! Today made me realise just how good our show was on grass so I hope we can do the same for Classic Japan 2012. Thanks for all the Toyota people who came out and supported the show today. Were it not for us and the Datsun/Nissan people that would have been a very sad little show. This MR2 won an award for best mid-engined car - and it was very nicely presented I loved the interior - is it factory? Andy's two new Toyota manfufactured rides looked tops together - car and bike! I love wagons I am with Parrot. This Corona is amazing! Bloke has owned it for 40 years, and lives 150m away from Mel's parents place! Engine Bay I loved all the bling on the Prince 6 RB26 in what we know as a 240K. Mmmmmmm! A couple of realllllly nice 240Z's too...this is just one Loved how clean this 180B was Cool Datsun ute, spewing I didn't get my brother's Tiara sorted to give it some competition! This Roadster had been finished off beautifully Look like Mx5 seats to me Paint job on this Galant was awesome! Shame it was the sole Mitsubishi representative The sole Honda representative was also awesome! And it is a shame this wasn't off the flatbed... There were some cool rotaries there but they left before I got to photography them. Shame not many other makes besides Toyota, Datsun/Nissan and the Mightyboys really supported this. Hopefully we can get them out of the wordwork later in the year. So we have rego again! Happy days. I have now been madly getting it prepped to go to the AOMC Classic Japanese car show this weekend. Since it tried to overheat on me on the way to vicroads, I have whipped out the radiator for a reco. Sweating on that coming back. In the meantime I have installed some "flapper" white walls, and re-installed the lowering blocks so its got its stance back. And wound down the front. This picture is with whitewalls done and front wound down 8 turns on the torsion bars. It ended up needing another couple once the lowering blocks went in as they are monster 3 inch jobs! I will keep the finished product to myself until Sunday's reveal :)

When all else fails take it to Peter Robinson Autmotive at Oakleigh. He will be able to sort you out with all the bits.

Hi folks Rather than start a new thread each month for Donuts, I am going to try running the one thread for the entire year. We have put together a proposed calendar for 2012. Some of the events are well and truly locked in, some can be changed if there is a better proposal. So please approach the TCCAV Committee if you find some where great that we haven't been to. So the calendar is: March 18th - Autobarn Epping (significant discounts apply for all TCCAV members) April 22nd - Garage Classics Museum, Williamstown May 20th - Brighton / Bayside (any suggestions of best venue?) June 17th - Brimbank Park, Keilor July 22nd - Jells Park, Wheelers Hill August 19th - Preston McDonalds Car Park September 23rd - Attwood October 21st - Cranbourne Hungry Jacks Car Park November 25th - Classic Japan, Como Park South Yarra December 2nd - Cars, Christmas and Snags, Albert Park As you can see we have tried to spread the event right around Melbourne. I would like to slip something in that catered to our Bacchus Marsh/Ballarat/Bendigo and beyond members, but haven't quite worked out when or where. Perhaps someone could do a cruise up that way instead. These events will generally start around 8.30am and go for two hours, and any one with an interest in cars is welcome, even if you aren't a member of TCCAV. So hopefully see lots of you at the Autobarn one next month! Adam
