  1. Omg... That has to be one of the dirtiest corolla engine bays I've ever seen! I think you'd go through 5 cans of degreaser just to get the chunks off!!
  2. Saw a VT clubsport with numberplates IR8-HSV. I think that's awesome! :(
  3. I thought that people under the age of 18 got the 900 from the government! We f&^@ing better!!!
  4. Sounds like you jarred your toe Jon. Similar to when we play footy and mis-place our hands catching the ball. And the ball ends up landing on the tip of your finger. Yes it hurts like hell!!
  5. Awesome find! But do you wanna share the rolla's round a little?? lol Soon all the ke20's in SA will be owned by Queen20V lol!!
  6. WOO!!! Big 17 today!! I'm excited :) Still have to work though unfortunately.
  7. Sounds like a good deal. Any other plans for it aka Respray?
  8. Remember guys if you're coming to the after cruise shindig then bring something along. Like meat or drinks.
  9. hmm... I wouldn't want to pee in that shower.
  10. ^^Good call trav. I think that's the last thing we need in this thread as of recent weeks. My OMG. My footy team had their first trial match tonight. But cause I can't play yet (recovering from jaw surgery) I had to run water. Oh well, still felt part of the team :P. I get to play first round of the actual season so i'm still happy! Just being out there gave me an itch to get down and dirty on the feild.

That would be lildvl83. She's on here and has a rides thread and everything. You should check it out :hmm: She has same car as mine :P
  12. Hey everyone. I put in a 5 speed in my ke30 on thursday night but now I'm leaking gearbox oil from what seems to be where the speedo cable goes into the gearbox itself. Any ideas how I could fix it? Don't exactly want to get a new speedo cable.
  13. I could've sworn I saw you car this afternoon rob. I got a closer look and took down the numberplate. It was the same colour with primer all through it. But lookin at your pics this was definitely a different car.
  14. Damn... sorry to hear about the ksev. Who steals a wrecked car?? lol That bonnet sure is warped. Bloody hell how long did you keep the paint stripper on for??
  15. I still think that the problem is in the brakes somewhere. It sounds EXACTLY the same as what mine was doing for a month or so. Until it was a constant scraping sound. At first I thought it was a wheel bearing till I looked at my brake pads and realised that one of the pads was totally worn and it damaged my rotor. I think you should just do what I did. Rotors, brake pads, caliper kits and wheel bearings. If it's not one of those I'll eat my shoe.
  16. I'd say that the gearbox probably weighed about 50-60 kilos. Which me and Luc had to hold up for about an hour trying to get the damn thing in properly. My shoulder still hurts from doing it. If you have access to a hoist then it would be 10x easier.
  17. Too bloody right mate. That was a slut of a job to do. Working by torchlight by then end of it doesn't exactly help either.
  18. I would have thought that $800 is quite cheap for a half cage.
  19. I got a caliper kit today. Normal price is probably less than $20 but i got it cheaper again. It definitely seems that your havin the same problem as me.
  20. My old radiator was rooted and would bust leaks all the time. Couldn't drive it in excessive heat. And I had a commodore radiator lying in the carport so instead of paying a couple of hundred just to get a new radiator i just custom fit the commo one in. Was pretty simple and fits in there quite nicely too. I done them up as tight as i could (with a socket) when I put my new exhaust in. I guess because of the temperature always fluctuating they became loose. I'll be fixing this problem with loctite and spring washers. Maybe even lock nuts. I'll see what I can do about the brakes. Got my new rotors, wheel bearings and one caliper kit for $96. Gonna fit them up tonight after footy training. I'll be getting my second caliper kit on monday as they ran out of stock :(
  21. I'd say it probably is a siezed caliper.
  22. Agreed^^ I've been havin the same problem over the last month or so. Until yesterday when there was a constant noise. Turns out one of my brake pads was totally worn on the right hand side. Now I've replaced the brake pads but the noise is still there. So today I've ordered new rotars and a caliper kit as I believe that one of my calipers is ceased. Check your brake pads and I'd say that they would be pretty worn.
  23. You're getting that bad fuel economy from a standard 3k carbie?!?!!? Something must be wrong cause my fuel economy is great!
  24. Update guys! New ke55 5speed and heavy duty clutch went in last night. Not too many hassles. Began to remove the old 4speed at around 6pm and didn't totally finish the gearbox til about 11pm. It goes really well but the only issue is that when i'm in 1st, 3rd, and 5th the gear stick hits the centre console and that's where my cd player is. Has anyone else had this issue? Started having brake issues yesterday too. I noticed a scraping noise while I was driving and thought that it might have been a wheel bearing on it's way out... until it got worse. So when I got home I checked the pads and one of the pads on the right hand side was totally worn, whereas the other one was still quite chunky, so a fair bit of uneven wear going on there. After I finished the gearbox I began on the changing the brake pads over. Took me until 12:30am til I was totally finished everything so I took it for a short drive but it was still making a horrible noise. So now my guess is that my R/H rotor is warped majorly and that one of the calipers is ceased. My neighbour is head manager at an auto parts company so I'm being hooked up with brand new rotors and a caliper kit for a good price. Is there anything else I should change while I'm at it? Oh and one more thing... The nuts that hold my exhaust to the headers have almost all come off. Should I put some sort of loctite on? And maybe some spring washers and some lock nuts?
  25. Saw a done up commodore with number plate: YIMPORT
