  1. Wow thats one clean classic, those photos look fantastic they should be in the next calender.
  2. Spent 4 hours down Lonsdale today, very slim pickings if you want general stuff. From what i saw there are a couple of KE55's,KE36-8 4 door panel van nice body for rust repairs to be cut from. 5 or so KE70's, 5ish RA60's and RT142 2.4 injected coronas and alot of SV21 camrys,3 RA40's. A coulpe of ST celicas Would also note if anyone is keen on doing the Brake upgrade Ryan "SLO-030" is doing there are plenty of RA60's to get hubs and rotors from. I think there is only one XT130 there struts intact but i think you can use RA40 struts also. Tomorrow is the last day before they shut to do the move but the guy at the gate said everything in the yard is getting flattened so if you saw something you like previously go get it tomorrow i know ill be there at 9. Few more things i want to get. I managed to score a Reconditioned SV21 radaitor and Fans, but an even bigger find was the V6 version has the same top and botton tanks to line up with a 4A hoses in RWD format and larger core also reconditioned with fans. A AE82 electronic distributor and coil with new cap and rotor and maybe an even harder find was a pair of KE70-AE71 rear globe holders in good condition. Hrm what else a VK fuel injected fuel pump for my soon to be brother in law paddock basher. A AE92 charcoal 3 spoke steering wheel, it fits but need to mod the horn slip ring and indicator cancel tube to suit AE71. Cheers matt
  3. Rover all alloy 3.5L V8, Toyota 1G..why not the BMW guys get a six in there E30. if your worried about understeer sort the suspesion out to suit the engine change. Dropping a powerful engine into a KE70 without thinking about will it stop or body roll like a boat needs to be considered amongst other things.
  4. Yeh new uniform has been stuck in customs from china for the last 2 or so weeks, i saw a example of what they look like 3 months ago should be good i might try and get buff for the catwalk display :)
  5. id love to tell ya but i can't say too much about CMI operations apart from its POO! atm :y:
  6. yeh but you can visit me from 8am to 5pm ill be in the gimp box
  7. some nice datsuns :y: please don't ban me :hmm:
  8. Yep corner of west tce and sturt street, havent had a decent look at it yet. I too work for CMI, wave to me through the glass :hmm:
  9. Hey no worries got some pics all mostly toyotas and old school datsuns with a few other cars thrown in. wasnt really interested in the rotas or skylines and late model evo's, hrmm funny i don't think i saw one supra there ? will edit and post pics maybe tomorrow if thats ok with the mods ? cheers matt
  10. got the camera out ready to rock n roll :hmm: going down in an hour or so
  11. I see so is that 89 mm measured between the centre line of the bolt hole to the next or from either inner of outer edge of the bolt hole to the next ? hope that wasnt confusing I'm wondering because i have ra60 struts and discs hubs and calipers here and may be looking into a the xt130 struts into the AE71 so this seems like a dirty cheap decent brake upgrade.UNLESS! I'm geting T18 struts mixed up with XT130's I could probably bring the caliper aound to see if its the go if we arent 100% sure, what do you think ?
  12. Yep my KE25 loves the Toyoglide but 3k love it what stop it from breaking.
  13. Hey was wondering looks like you have looking into this upgrade so ill ask these question. If your using MX62 single piston calipers on a RA60 hub and rotor why not use the RA60 caliper as well ? is there an issue with fitment of RA60 calipers to XT130 struts ? cheers matt
  14. I agree with pretty much everyones points and i guess some other points need to be taken with a pinch of salt. No point argueing we just look like a bunch of guys who don't get along ...... also just coz myles is gone doesnt mean there is a new guy to pick on :) As a personal point for myself is that i work for CMI and there was no new cars on display from them ? there is a sweet ke1...somthing somthing in the show room and a formula 1 mock up, CMI own they own 3 car transporter ? that dispoints me. On all ford day which is coming up soon i bet Maughan thiem ford have a good display from their showroom as they are usally sponsers as they have in the past. My parnter vess said i should have entered my car considering they probably had more than 30 trophies there i might have won worst condition paint ;) I admit i only took 4 or 5 photos and spend 15 minutes maybe more walking past the cars and i lend my full support to those who spent the time and effort which is what makes a car show happen but as it stands on the way home at the hallet cove shopping centre i found a nice stagea i took 5 photos of, I'm not trying to say it was better just i would have liked to have seen more examples of cars i know that are sitting in sheds in sa that could be shared with the public ? I'm sure there are some IPRA toyotas shannons could have gotton in touch with as they are also a sponser ? I guess for me when a turnout at a show such as this is as low as it was maybe its an example to the organisers to maybe try a new approch to finding people willing to display their vehicles ? All jap day I'm pretty sure will have maybe 80-150 cars next weekend ? and yes i know they are all different manufactures but even they should be pulling 200-300 plus cars considering all cars i see on the way to work in the morning, late night cruising and whats found in shopping centre carparks ect ect. I guess i have made a negative view but its reality. I'm looking forward to seeing ravens and tallys KE25's in a few years time on display and who knows maybe mine will be there along side them.
  15. holden 1 tonner HQ and up, these things are as simple as a ke30 if not simpler to work on and repair but most are rough, but if you have 7k then you could pick one up for around 1500-3000 no worries. 6cyl would be my choice V8's don't really do it for me for repair a reliability. or if 4WD is a must why not 60 series cruiser you may even be able to find a sahara. want a 4cyl ? why not early hilux ute 1979 onwards 2wd. ford mechanics cringe when they see a explorer come in for repair :hmm: just another throw away 4wd from america, they only expect their cars to last 3 years these days. cheers.
  16. Ive heard stories too but id say they are in the past, maybe some people can't let go of the past ? i dunno however ive bought some minor parts and had no problems.
  17. Hey guys have a safe and fun trip, I'm sure myself and vess will be missing out on another great holiday. Hopefully next year there wont be job/time off problems to worry about. Matt.
  18. leave the dirt in there and pop a head on it, get it running and rev it to 5000rpm minimum and pour powdered ajax in the carby :jamie:

  20. LOL! ok update again, vess has her job back plus a new job role because the book keeper gave notice, so no more redundance. But, due to the staff cuts and role change they cannot guarantee the time off.
