don't know where this should be posted... Received a PM from Zuratikl who has 0 posts PM is titled new forum rules and links to a russian website - dunno what though cause I didn't follow the link. Just a heads up

Thanks kangaroosa. Checked out your thread for it and it was very helpful. Now to get the pedal box out!
-
I have been tackling this myself for the passed 2 weeks. The pivot point for the pedal is very close to the pivot point that the master cylinder rod will be secured to on the pedal. My question is how much throw is needed for the clutch to be engaged? From the looks of it the throw is going to be about 2.5cm

www.twosrus.com That might have some stuff. All mr2 related so might find some other bits and pieces you need (assumption based on your name)

Wiring done... or so my mate thinks. Has to check some diagrams to be sure. Rocker cover all painted and on Radiator outlet moved and all water associated hoses attached. Left to do General tidy up Clutch Shorten the throttle cable Exhaust Fuel lines So bloody close now. Can't wait to start the thing up. I know the neighbours are gonna love it with only the extractors connected. Excuse phone pics below was too lazy to grab the camera. For toyota_ae71 - Hope that picture helps and the leads were already there.

http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=29418 Shameless plug for my car above. -
Progress update Rocker cover has been painted in satin black and I will be doing the silver detailing this weekend Extractors have been fitted and my exhaust system has been cut and will require welding to the extractors The gearstick is now coming up in a much nicer position due to a bit of persuasion from the vice and some steel tubing (I bent it more upright) Radiator is in the shop getting outlet relocated thanks to some good advice from fellow rolla club forum members Left to do Exhaust welding Wiring and hoses The infamous hydraulic clutch conversion Progress pics to follow this weekend... as I make more progress...

My car should be ready for this one. If not I need a good kick in the pants... -
Yeah i have been convinced. My radiator is in good condition and I think everything will look much neater this way. Thanks for the help, getting closer to the finish every day.
-
I rang a radiator place and changing the outlet over is not much hassle. My perhaps stupid question is, with both outlets on the same side of the radiator wont it make it pretty inefficient?

I have the standard k series radiator in my car with the 2tg and as the picture below shows the hose doesn't have the bend to fit on. As I see it I have 2 options 1. find a hose with that 90 degree bend in it - any ideas on that one? 2. Get a piece of metal pipe to fit between the hose I have and another hose that is a 90 degree bend... Any help on this?

Christmas is a while away, I know I can;t think that far ahead :jamie: . Happy to catch up with you and organise some sort of a cruise, just put a reminder closer to the date

Off to see it tonight. Did see a review during the week and was disapointed to learn most of the driven scenes are cgi.. I knew the acting was phony but the driving too? Should be fun anyway

drive shaft is in. Got my rocker cover back from my mate and have to get off some of the paint still. Can I use paint stripper on a rocker cover??? Plan is to paint it black with writing in silver and the two raised edges over the cams in silver. some more pics plus a picture of the awesome eco friendly ride I have until my car is back on the road - excuse phone pic quality It will be for sale provided the conversion all goes to plan.

Yeah I will have to see what speedo cables i can find. Got the gearbox cross member in today. Used the standard k50 one that came out of my car rather then the one I was given cause it didn't fit (it might be a ta22 one?). The standard one goes up nicely but sits back from the original position in a different set of bolt holes. Had to widen the centre piece of the cross member where the rubber mount fits into but aside from that it went straight in. Also I may not have to cut the hole where the shifter comes through. The t50 sits about 3 cm back but I think I can bolt the shifter to the gearbox. Gonna try it anyway cause even if its a pain to do up the bolts its better than cutting the car. Should have the drive shaft in tomorrow and will get some more photos.

Quick progress can be attributed to buying the engine "package" off another forum member. So its almost drop in and away you go. Not really due to any mechanical aptitude I may or may not have ;) No tunnel modifications required. The shifter is gonna come up in almost the right spot. Think it just going to require a bit of a adjustment to the hole making it bigger on the left. the hydraulic clutch hasn't been tackled yet but there has been some good posts on here about the way to go about it. No steering clearance issues. Only clearance issues are that the airfilters are bloody close to the brake booster and I think the clutch master cyclinder will just fit. Off to my mates place today to see how he is doing with sand blasting the rocker cover. Then sort out if I want it painted and what colour. Anyone know what I need to do to replace the speedo cable I broke? Mine was from the 5k engine so do I need one specifically for the 2tg?
-
Hey thought i should post my engine conversion. Most of the melbourne guys have seen my car. 5k engine with a weber etc. Well all thats coming out and a 2tg is going in. Day 1 Gearbox off engine to change over clutch New clutch etc. on Day 2 5k comes out 2tg goes in Had one casualty... the speedo cable was forgotten about and when pulling the engine out on the crane it got rather rooted Day 3 to be continued...
-
Who is that good looking bloke on the end? Looks like the coach or something?? :y:
-
If it was a blue 2 door thats me. Its just a 5k with exhaust and a weber. Soon to be a 2tg
-
Its run by super5s.org Less physical? Thats not what I have found. Where we are at the rules are more like outdoor and you can use your body a bit.
-
It is the big toe... bloody painful I might add. And yes we are now playing futsal also. Much better game really. Surface, the ball , the rules are all much better.
-
Yeah I noticed. Plus all the non corolla mates with me did too. I mean of all the cars he could have chosen to dish crap to... anyway doesn't change the fact it is a brilliant movie. Made me want to give targa tasmania a go until I was informed of the entrance fee.

2 blue cards which I never heard of but apparently gets you 5 mins in the sin bin. All I can say is don't piss Jo off unless you got a bit of back up.
-
Lol, no pictures Johno. They even take your mobile phone from you if its got a camera. Pretty tight on that sorta thing.

Fair enough. I won't go forward with this. Spoke to 78_7kRolla the other night and am gonna see if he can tag along with my department tour. If anyone is interested in a tour at a later date let me know and I will direct you to the right people/forms.
