I will be there tomorrow, with my rego fee and new $12 white tshirt. Since when did plain tshirts cost that much... I remember buying a pack of 3 for that price... I can't seriously be that old can I?

Nice description! Felt like I was there going through the twisties... but no I am stuck in my desk chair. Maybe on the weekend
-
Well i had a great time and we all played well for a first game. I think everyone had few moments of brilliance, but unfortunately we didn't finish very well... not from lack of trying though. Next week for sure is gonna be a good one.

*update* TV ad is being launched on sunday. It is also on youtube. Link is below, check it out. I liked it, no bias either :)

As an employee I can't really comment... but if anything comes passed my desk that I can post up I will.

Time suits me fine. I am coming from vermont south so if anyone wants a lift around there... Also are we gonna need to all be wearing the same thing or will bibs be provided? And shin guards are compulsory or not?

got an email at work this morning detailing a new corolla campaign. A new website has been launched and will have ads running soon too. Looks like they are trying to appeal to a younger crowd rather than the usual bowls hat wearing demographic that was targeted the last few years anyway the address is www.corolla.com.au

I wouldn't mind playing a bit of soccer. See if any of the old skills come back. Box hill suits me fine too. just a matter of what day

Yeah the tyres are on and so is the carby. Looking and sounding much better. Little bit extra go too. Getting the pcv valve sorted this weekend which will get me a bit more time between oil changes. So whats the go with your car, got a few new goodies from the looks of your signature. Pretty keen to see your car again.

Thanks for the replies and recommendations. Hopefully the tax man delivers my tax refund soon and I can get it done.

Summer is almost here and its getting hotter. This will be my first summer with my rolla and it has no air conditioning. Any recommendations on where to get window tinting preferrably in the eastern suburbs. Also are the back windows on my car going to be a hassle to tint. They are the ones that have a little lever and you push them out ie. they aren't the up and down type... did that make sense to anyone but me?

I missed pretty much all of it but was good to see you guys at the end. From the photos looks like a good turn out but as said before not enough old school rollas, which could have been helped a bit by me turning up earlier... next time i guess -

I will be at sandown watching a mate so I will do my best to catch up with you all at lilydale. -
Well things went pretty well. Got the manifold that was on the car off and thanks to some handy dremel work from a mate and some filing by me the opening is now a nice oval shape. Due to it being a saturday and the fact I underestimated how hard it would be to find a suitable hose fitting to use for the pcv valve on the manifold it didn't get done. I now know that most hose fittings have a tapered thread and the required tap for making the thread is worth about $50. I tried doing it with a metric thread but ran out of time finding the correct metric tap. Apparently I had chosen a size that was rare. So she is all back together again and after my little manifold mod I have noticed a small increase in power and respsonsiveness. Would have provided photos but with all the stuffing around it just didn't happen

I am pretty sure its a 5k manifold, from what I dunno. Happy to get more pics for ya. I will find myself a standard k manifold and do my mods to that rather than molest my standard one. Means less time off the road as well doing it that way

This is going to take a bit of explaining so here goes; Got my 32/32 weber on the car and the adapter plate has a hole through it that is a long oval but the manifold that it connects to has two small circular holes. So the air from the carby goes through the adapter then hits the inlet manifold where it has to go through 2 holes and hits a bridge of metal in the middle. Now my mechanic has suggested I take to the inleft manifold with a file/hacksaw or something similar and turn the 2 holes into one oval as per the adapter plate. This is supposed to decrease the air flow restriction and give me more power essentially for free! Sounds good to me. Does this make sense to you guys? Not particularly keen on butchering my manifold and then having something go wrong as I still need the car for work. So the plan would be to use another manifold and that way I could set up the pcv valve on it aswell as per my previous post. I got a heap of spare parts with my car and was rummaging around and found an inlet manifold but it looks different to the one on the car. It has an extra runner on it for some sort of emissions stuff, but it does have an oval inlet. Do I try do something with this one or find myself another non emissions k manifold? Pic below of inlet manifold with oval opening and the extra runner thing highlighted in red...

Saw a red ke35 with a white stripe down the side coming along canterbury road going over terrara rd towards box hill way. Was a few days ago and was a pretty crap rainy day but it looked pretty tidy.

Yup thats the one I will be looking at. Doing some work on the car this week as I have some time off between starting new job. Thanks for the replies, will give you an update later in the week
-
Yeah off the tappet cover. It used to go into the standard carby but with the weber there is no spot for it and i was told it should go into the inlet manifold
-
My new weber didn't have a spot for the pcv valve and I would have to make one up on the manifold. My question is; whats the service interval for oil changes without the pcv valve? If its really low I will get the manifold sorted to take the valve, if its not so bad I just won't worry about it.

I have 205/60s on my 13s. As said before it looks tough. There is a few tyres in that size. I went for yokohamas but hankook do some as well.

Got my official offer today and will be starting a new job at Toyota in October. Will be a business analyst within the purchasing department

Got my new tyres and decided I would go for the white writing on the outside. In my opinion it looks really old school cool. The tyres are yokohama y352s, also got a weber 32dgv put on. Put a rebuild kit through it myself but ended up getting it cleaned up and fitted by a professional. Very happy with the result. The driveability has improved dramatically, the sound is awesome and it starts better even though it now has no choke. So anyone cruising around with a standard carbys, do yourself a favour and get a weber!

Thanks for the replies. Like the idea with the yokohamas of having the white writing on the inside. Work bonus finally came in so best get spending!
