  1. I have a 7K in my KE55. It is a very torque motor, i do use 1st gear (cause i never give it too much gas), although i can start from a stop in 3rd. Mine has a 3K sump in it (the 7K is too big). Physically the engine is the same as the other K engines. They came in the Town-Aces (as someone said) and i believe they also produced in the Kijang/Tamaraws in Indonesia and Asia. I got my engine for a bargin ($800, in a KE30, with a 5sp Box and 2in exhaust) although most the others i saw second hand for $1000 - $1500. We've had the engine completely reconditioned and had a few little upgrades ;) (Larger valves, solid lifters, mild cam and more other things that i just can't remember). The previous owner of the engine converted it from EFI to carbys and we are now running twin SU's (from a Triumph Dolamite) although we are still having some problems with those). The engine runs extremely nicely (when the carbys aren't playing up). Should be getting it dyno'd in the next week or so, and will post the figures we get then. I went striaght from a 4k to 7k, so i'm not sure about the 5k, but i do love my 7k :P
  2. We have a 7k in my KE55. Fit in perfectly on the 4K mounts. Although just looking at the size of the KE1X's it looks like they might have a smaller engine bay. Mine has a 3K sump on it (which is leaking :lolcry: ). The previous owner of the engine said he replaced the 7K sump with the 3K because (as above) the 7K sump wouldn't fit. My dad said (and this might not be correct) that the 7K is physically the same size as the 4K, the only differences are internal.
  3. When are they going to make the movie: "Sloth" a story about a man and his 7k KE55?
  4. Just stumbled across this post. Dads going to have some things to say about people bagging the 7Ks when he gets on, lol. Hmmm.... i don't think i have room in the boot for a Nitrious tank, what am i going to do now. I don't need Nitrious for street cred though... my car has neons and stripes!
  5. I should be there too, the new engine will be run in by then, and hopefully we will have the carbys sorted out too.
  6. Need to keep an eye on this. My car will need a brake upgrade soon. We were thinking of doing the diff as well and heard that a skyline diff would go nicely and that way we could gear rear discs. For the front we were thinking of putting in a corona front end (our mechanic has a rally KE55 coupe with a corona front end that he might be scrapping).
  7. Check the profile for my car (The Slothmobile) below, there is a couple in there. Will post some more pics up soon.
  8. Hahaha, Takumi Tax, classic :) . Hopefully one day there will be a Sloth Tax on KE55's :lolcry:
  9. Yeah nice info. My dad will be really interested to read it. Our 7k will be a little different though, it has had the ports polished, the lifters replaced (with v8 chevy solid lifters), and (i think) the cam might have been replaced (if not replaced it was cleaned up a heap). The sump on the 7k's does go a bit lower and doesn't fit into a KE55 or KE35, so our 7K has a 3K sump (i think). The motors have a lot of torque and are a lot of fun ;) My dad will definately be interested to hear this. Check out these two posts about our 7K (if you haven't already): http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=6775 - Our 7k http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=5618 - Things Are Happening Well i better get going, have to go for a drive :D
  10. I am in love! The 7k makes the car fly. Once the car starts moving it just doesn't want to stop. Yes is does do nice burnouts (still getting used to the pedals). There is so much power in the engine that it is almost scary, but i think she likes me. Yeah it is going into a KE55 (the one in my profile).
  11. I should be in. Hopefully the 7K will be ready :) just waiting on a custom gasket to get made up. I'd prefer afternoon/evening (That way i can turn on the neons).
  12. On Friday the 10th of Feb i was woken up by my girlfriends older brother, who said i should get up and go look at my car cause it had been broken into. At first i though he was a joke, but then he said he though the stereo had been stolen. So i went out to the road and, sure enough, there was a hole in the window, my MP3 player (and the whole console it was in) was missing and the crap from my glove box was all through the car (along with a lot of glass). I went and opened the passenger door and looked through the car to see if anything else had been taken, luckly the undercar neons and interior neons were still there, but a set of brand new Gold Toyota Camry badge (that i got off my girlfriend for christmas) had been stolen. I reported it to the police, called the insurance company and called my parents. The police took the report, although they knew there was no point. The chick i spoke to at the insurance company had no idea what my policy covered (and said someone would call me back... they never do) and my step-father told me to take it down to the local cop shop and get it printed. We took it down to the Moorabin Police Station and got it printed (it helps having a step-dad who's a cop :P ) but they didn't find anything. I cleaned up most of the class from the car (took forever) then me and SlothSnr got a window from the wreckers and installed it (glass shops were qouting $140 - $160). Now i think there is glass stuck in the door mechanism and i can't open it. The poor Slothmobile has been through so much and hopefully this is its last trial. Heres some pics (hopefully they come up) Now i have to find a new console to replace the stolen one and get a new headunit. We have a DVD player and headunit lying around, but i might be able to get hooked up with an Alpine unit soon (if i can get the cash). EDIT: The damage to the door wasn't done by the theives.... thats another story :P
  13. Like SlothSnr said, its called The Slothmobile. (Don't forget the 'The'). Why? Because i'm Sloth, its my car, hence 'The Slothmobile' like 'The Batmobile'. Its also refered to as 'The Corolla' or of course 'The Beast' (Sometimes sarcasticaly).
  14. Yeah, as SlothSnr said, my car got violated on the 10th of Feb, i'll start a post and put up some pics. So sad. As for random damage, i noticed one day that one of my doors had been kicked in, never found out who or when, never got if fixed either, hence my black door atm :P. I've also had a run in with a truck.... but thats another story EDIT: Link to my story http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=6362
  15. Yeah thats probably what we will do, only problem is once we got the 7K in, we got rid of the 4K cause we didn't have the room to keep it  So now we just wanna find a shitty 3,4 or 5k cheap and put that in, we will be able to hook up the extractors, and twin SU's, so it won't be a bad ride anyway
  16. Yeah i think i have seen that engine before... As long as the car is running eventually it will all be worth it. It's a shame that the engine packed in when it did, we had just got the new fuel line in and working and dad had just put most of the undercar neons on  Oh well, it will be a beast when we finish.
  17. L/H Rear Quarter.. that is part of the shell.. can't be replaced  I has a person kick in one of my doors, which wouldn't have been too bad, but it was a door that we had repaired and was covered in bog, when they kicked it that bog basically split off. Its not a good feeling when someone else damages your car. :P
  18. I have heaps of pictures of my car Jamie, if anyone wants pics of my car just send an email to [email protected] and i'll send you some. There is some pics of my car in my 'ride', the SlothMobile.
  19. The four part mini series is coming to tv next week
  20. When i was a kid I always wanted a Ferrari, that was never going to happen so as i got older i just wanted something that was nice to drive and a nice car. As i got closer to my license my parents had a spare car lying around that they were going to leave for me, and old Crysler Valiant, auto, with the column shift. It was originally sparkly green but the previous owner had painted it dark blue, with blue house paint that was peeling off so there were green patches all over it. Just before i got my learners, my parents got rid of the car, got a new car and decided to give me their shitbox that the new car was replacing. It was a 1976 KE30, baby blue, with more rust than the titanic. I saw it as just a car to drive until i got my dream car of the time, a mid 90s Supra. So i got my licence and started driving the KE30, it ran ok, and even though it was slow, behind the wheel you felt like you were really moving. Then one day while driving some mates to a car yard to look at cars i came round a corner in the wet, not really fast at all, but got the car sideways. I'd never got the car sideway before so i overcorrected and did a 180, then slid across three lands and into a bas bay and broke my axle. We managed to get the car home and me and my dad replaced it. After that i felt defeated, and decided that i had to learn what to do when the car go sideways, so i started experimenting with the car.... and having a little fun As previously stated RWD + Rain = Lotsa Fun! i slowly developed a liking for my rustbucket KE30, then my dad started to help me fix it up a little and he said we could score a cheap paint job. So we started rubbing back the car, but we needed a new panel for the front cause the one we had was too rusted. So i went to the local wreckers and saw a shitty loooking white KE55, it was covered in dirt and mould, the seats were ripped and the tyres were flat. It was a sad site, but there was something about the car that drew me in, i couldn't get my eyes off it. All the panels were straight so we decided to buy the sheel. One of my dads mates owned the wreckers and said we could have the whole thing really cheap (to cover for the bill for his christmas party) so on christmas eve i bought the car. Once we started driving it home the car took off, like it was showing off. When we got it home we decided to fix that up instead of the KE35. we rubbed it back eventually got it ready to go in to get sprayed. The color my dad had picked out was "a really cool blue" although i had no idea what shade. When the car rolled into the booth to get sprayed i hadn't seen the paint. I went away for a few days, and when i got back the car was done. I walked into the factory where the car had been sprayed, it was completely empty, then i saw the car, it was like in a movie when everything goes silent and someone falls in love. When i saw the car i fell in love. the light in the factory showed the pearl of the paint, it went from bright blue to deep purple, and there where huge silver stripes. I knew then that the KE55 was the one for me. I learnt how to master my 4k and 4sp shitty gearbox. And me and the car went through the good times and the bad, but she's always been there for me. Now i have just put a 7K and 5sp box in, and the first time i drove it with the 7K the car flew, just like it was showing off to me again. I know that the new engine are gear box aren't the start of something new for my corolla, just my corolla "growing up", and i know that we will be together for a long time still. So thats the story of my Rolla. I stil wouldn't mind a big turbo'd Supra, but as the days go on i'm falling more and more in love with my old KE55.

6 Litres, i think we did mine in 4.5, although mine was free and we couldn't get our hand s on anymore.. so we had to stretch it. What color is it going to be?
  23. I'd be interested in cruising along to a meet and seeing what other people have done with their rollas
